I also have to give a bravo zulu to the NRLCA for the email informing me of the unfair labor practices suit against the PO. Next I would like them to send me an email with information about the manipulation of mail grievance. Rollin' On

Hourly would correct all these injustices mentioned in the last few posts! You may be a little more micro managed but I don't know how you could be, according to what you all are posting here now! BILLY, may want to hold off on that retirement you could just get a buy out offer! You should know if it will pertain to us rural's by the end of July! WOULDN'T THAT MAKE THE LEAVING EVEN MORE SWEET! HAHAHAHA!

/m30713 Come on Guys one spam email and you think they care! Where the Hell is the unfair labor practice on the agreement with DHL for last mile delivery and soon pickup too since this was done after count! All those packages should be recorded and split to all routes after 1 year total is recorded, we should all be paid extra pay for the amount of average packages for each route! I know this would not be fair as some one will point out, I got more packages than him but hey that the evaluated system NO ONE SAID IT'S FAIR! OH wait all you under-time runners think it is! This should be done NOW by union not next year! Then I would think the union is doing something! Not just an EMAIL to tell me something I already knew!

Plus these parcels should NEVER go to door unless mileage is paid to DOOR not just the BOX! WE ARE GIVING AWAY WAY TOO MANY MILES FOR FREE AT THE CURRENT REIMBURSED COST WE ARE RECEIVING TO PROVIDE OUR OWN VEHICLES!

I know I would like to be paid to leave.

If there is a buy out do you think those of us on the boards
may get first chance? The Postal Service may want us to leave
more than employees who don't make waves.

Friday the mail was an hour late, so we had a long stand up from the supers. One of the bitches was about missing scans. In one month we went from almost 99% to 96%. Needless to say they aren't happy. One of the carriers pointed out that the drop started at the same time the UPS/DHL parcel dump started. Super said that UPS/DHL aren't too happy about us missing scans on their stuff. Another carrier pointed out that half of their stuff comes in looking like a 5 year old finger painted on the label. Another pointed out that the labels are so smeared most of the time that they won't scan, and you can't read the numbers on them. Once again it's the carriers that have to pick up the slack for someone else's screw ups.

The vast majority of the DHL/UPS parcels that come to our office scan just fine. The biggest problem I see with them is the ones that dip down into the space where two flaps of cardboard come together.

But even the ones that look cruddy and would never have scanned with the old scanners, seem to scan fine now.

The other problem I see with them, is that there are so many barcodes on a package. I get around this by putting my hand over the one I don't want to scan.

I wonder if it is possible that these packages sometimes get mistakenly delivered by UPS, DHL, etc. There are so many bar codes anymore. You are always looking for "your" bar code so they may not know it is supposed to be delivered by us. Of course, maybe when they scan their bar code it tells them that. Even then they would probably just leave it. Don't know.

Well I have talked with the UPS driver that drops parcels on us. She said they are placed into a pouch...its a big plastic thing. She opens the pouch, scans them, then dumps them in a hamper. The number I get that won't scan, and you can't decipher the numbers on is small. But it wouldn't take many of those to drop your percentages 3%. But of course we now "can't do

Bugser /m30707 Please let us all know what happens on the aux route request. I doubt very much if it will happen. But, I HAVE been wrong before.

You're a great employee. You would rather expose the skin of your hand to the radiation the scanner emits than to get that dreaded...scan of the wrong barcode.

BTW- 11 years ago... how did a carrier in New York happen to have a seasonal route in your office?

People have summer places along the St. Lawrence, go south in the winter.

Also, /m30723, the scanners are not laser scanners anymore. They are more like cameras, like a cellphone. Are you afraid of your cell phone?

Just one route in 11 years have enough snowbirds to be seasonal?

/m30725

I read heavy cell phone users have a higher incidence of brain cancer.

BTW- I just bought a cell phone and was going to take it back to walmart because I never used it. That same day the district safety person observed me. I needed the cell phone to warn the other carriers.

check out this site:

http://mailmantips.com/rural.htm

looking at it quickly I saw several things wrong and the city page was bad, too. The city carriers in my office have a fit if they hear about any carrier carrying mail on their arm like that picture shows!

it really is amszing how different things are from office to office. causes big problems for us peons!

/m30726 I haven't worked in that office in 11 years. It is probably still a seasonal route.
