/m30709 It used to be that there had to be enough seasonal deliveries to make a two hour difference to the route (If I recall correctly - has been 11 years since I supervised in an office with a seasonal route). Now that it only takes an hour difference to trigger an adjustment, it may take fewer seasonal deliveries to make it happen.

I have a quick question. Our Postmaster is now telling us that we have to deliver and pick up two hold outs. They are large businesses. One is a school and one a manufacturing business. He said they (School) can no longer afford the $700.00 they pay for the service. That is the reason and they are in our line of travel. Does this sound correct? This is the same Postmaster that is trying to force us to do carrier pick ups and a house without a mail box. But she has a PO box. That house is a deviation for sure. We do not have any mail boxes on that street. We also currently do a carrier pick up at a house that also has a PO box. The return address is their PO box but we pick them up at the house. They run a huge ebay business. It all sounds fishy to me. But I am looking for the information to back us up. We were not measured at count for these businesses. Any ideas?

That is a good idea, I think they should not include mileage between boxes if it is over 1/4 mile, look at the savings for the PS.

So they are blaming the new rash of seasonal routes on DPS reviews........nice.....has anyone got changed to seasonl without a DPS review ???? How many deliveries (%) do you need to qualify as seasonal ????? Next they will try not to count the miles to your first box or from your last box back to the office as route mileage..........some routes would lose big time.......if it was 5 miles to the first box and 5 miles from your last, that would be 2 hours off of your evaluation........right ???? Better hope nobody from management is reading this.........I'm sure the NRLCA would fight it.........yea, right...........

Early outs for rurals ????? Can't wait to let the dizzy bitch that tried to back out of retiring AGAIN (third time) know she missed the boat........on her last day she tried to cancel, but they gave her the folder with the "thank you for your service" letter.............

Yeah the dhl shit is really bad here, too. I didn't check my extra mileage, but I bet it's right in line with your extra 7. It also has been taking me about 20 minutes longer this week. This extra time is directly due to the number of dhl parcels, because the mail volume is really low.

I know they need the money, that times are bad, that we are all expected to do more, blah, blah, blah......... But I really do think that this is too much to expect from us rurals, especially the rurals with POVs and crappy EMA.

Anyway, I've got to give the NRLCA a compliment (since I never have any problem mentioning when I think they are inept, it's only fair to say they did something right for a change). They not only filed unfair labor charges - they started sending out emails to announce it! WOW! Maybe they are getting in the Independence Day spirit and getting a divorce from their bed buddies at the USPS?

Whatever.........it was nice to see that email; encouraging. Don't want to get my hopes up, but it was good that they decided to do that.

billy whit /m30698 O.K.????? But I thought this gas problem was G.W. Bush's fault. He is the real clown. As you know, Billy, I can retire anytime I want to. I don't have to wait for anything. You are the one who has a few months left. And thanks for the well wishes. I hope you and the family have a safe and happy 4th. GOD bless all

When I left today there was a pallet as tall as me, 6 foot, with parcels stacked on it. Another wire bin full of parcels sitting there. All DHL and UPS stuff. That's for an office with 23 routes. I bet they both dumped their Friday stuff on us...to do Saturday...so they can enjoy the holiday off. Just glad I'm not working Saturday.

if you are having problems with management, now is the time to write to your congrestional (sorry) representitive. it helps if he is same party and is up for election like they are. keep track of all problems, i use a calender and use it as a dairy. this will get their attention, do not ask for a review for at least 5 more weeks
