Well the surgery went well with my Mom,excetp they gave her a lorcet for pain and it made her deathly sick because she had nothing in her stomach, reall ticked me off. Also didn't ask if she needed to go to the bathroom all day,she lay there from 10 am until 4:30 and they finally ask her. She went and went and went. I told the patient rep when she came in the next day. Also the nurses aid(we only have RN's and aids now) she dropped the temp thing on the floor then put it in her mouth!!! I will be writting an editorial to the local newspaper!!!

She is home now has 15 staples in her neck. I think she did so well because she is very active....please continue to pray for a speedy recovery for her. I guess my daughter and her daughter will leave today. She has to stop by and see her MIL on the way home. She had surgery on Monday and then had complications and had to have surgery again on Tues so it has been a rough time for her.

Thanks to all my friends here for your prayers. Love you guys you are the best!!!

We're moving again; at least Beth and Ray are moving while I am at my grandson's wedding. That will be to my advantage as they will be moved while I am away. When I get back we will not have the computer for a day or so - Charter says they will have the tv phones and Computer back by the 2nd; but, just wait until you hear from me.
I WILL BE GOING NO MAIL TOMORROW AND WILL NOT BE BACK ON LINE UNTIL I AM BACK FROM MY GRANDSON'S WEDDING AND WE ARE COMPLETELY MOVED; PROBABLY NOVEMBER 3RD OR 4TH.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING AFTER TODAY UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM ME.

Talked to Rita this am and she was ready to go, but Tom wasn't. She hopes to be home by 11:3o and on the road soon after.
Our son and granddaughter arrived on the 8th and left on the 13th. I was more than ready to see them go. They don't believe in disciplining her and she is a pistol!Grandpa and grandma were not happy and it was not a good visit. Her mother didn't come and went to Canada to see her parents, which were just in Illinois.
I finally have the house back in order and doing laundry today.
Yesterday was Stan's birthday so made him a carrot cake from scratch. We are going out to eat tonite with our neighbors for supper.
Brenda, how is your mother?
Shirley how are you doing also?
Prayers for everyone. Maggie hang in there.Hugs Nancy

Just finishing up packing for our trip south to Ft Lauderdale. I am working half a day tomorrow and coming home and packing up the car and driving to Jacksonville (about 5 hours). We will spend the night and our son Brian and granddog Evie will go the rest of the way with us. We have rented a house so we can all be together and entertain grandma and family since her house is so very small. Her birthday is Tuesday and we will start our trek home next Thursday probably stopping in Jacksonville again for a day. I am still not feeling great so I am just planning on resting and let everyone else do the cooking and entertaining. This is the first year I haven't had all the meals planned and I am not taking any food with me. Guess we will just wing it and go to the grocery store daily. We won't starve I am sure!

Prayers to all who need them. Brenda hope you mom's surgery was a success and Maggie love hang in there - we are here for you! Love to all! I'll check in when I get back home.

Just a quick hello to everyone, Maggie, hang in there on the dental work--you know it'll be well worth it!

My thoughts to everyone in their times of trouble. I never used to check in on the QT but am glad now to have this connection with you all -- even though I didn't get to meet most of those at the GSEE (that darned old van breaking down again!) But little by little I feel like I'm starting to get to know each one of you through your posts. Still hoping for some photos so I can start putting faces & names together.

As for me, my van is still in the shop; I haven't had any transportation for almost 4 wks now, which means I haven't been able to get to my part-time job! I work for my son Mike so he won't fire me (haha) but I know things are piling up there in the office for him, plus although my bills are paid & I'm not starving (so I realize things could be a lot worse), I really could use the extra money.

As for the van, the problem was the transmission, so they either rebuilt it or got one already rebuilt. Last week they put it in, but turned a bolt too tight, & the whole thing cracked. So they had to get another one; called me yesterday to say they took it out for a test drive, & it didnt sound right -- so they're getting another one! Well, I'm glad they tested it first & found this latest problem before I did (haha)--Mike takes care of all this, so I'll let him deal with it. There aren't busses here so without a car you are stranded, which is kind of getting to me after all this time. My life sounds kind of like a soap opera -- no one I know (including the auto-shop people) has ever seen so many things go wrong with one vehicle in such a short time!

On the plus side, especially after reading your posts, so many people with more worries than I have, I am so thankful for good health & all the blessings I do have. And I'm not totally cut off from the rest of the world; I have my phone, DirecTv (love History & Science channels--wish they'd had them when I was in school; I would've done so much better!) and of course the Internet. Those 3 things have "saved my sanity", but it's just not the same as being out with other people around you. Guess I'm just not cut out to be a hermit!

Well, I said I was going to make this quick, but as usual have been running my mouth (or my fingers, haha) but I do want to send good thoughts & best wishes to everyone.

The weary traveler has returned! I'm at the point where I'm not sure where I live anymore..lol! We got mom sorted, packed and moved to their storage area. They decided not to take the apartment and will be taking their camper to Texas..yes Maggie, Texas! I think around Corpus Christi..?? The auction people are coming Fri to pick up the sale "stuff", the closing on their house is the 20th, the auction is the 21st, along with misc doc appts and getting meds for their winter trip.

I leave again on Tues to go back and help with auction details, etc. I should be back on Fri, if all goes well. Whew! More advance cooking for poor Jer this weekend too. If you'all ain't tired yet, I sure am...

It took awhile for me to go thru all my 1,000 emails and catch up. In between I was unloading the camper of food things since it's been so darn cold and snowy around here the past week. Heck, then ran out of propane for the heat so had to hook up the electric portable heater....sheesh! Then heard on the news last nite my vehicle has been recalled so have to squish that in somewhere before next week! Can things get any more hectic?? Probably, but I'm not thinking about that...grin!!!

Now you're all caught up with my little world. My prayers are with everyone in my A2Z family, belated b-day and anniversary wishes to those who celebrated and I'm off to make a few phone calls and get scheduled.

love and hugs to all!!

Dear Maggie, we are here for you and praying too, praying for God to help you find a way to help yourself through this. I don't think there are many of us that ask God for a windfall, but for a way to get through whatever we are faced with. You just keep on keepin' on and we'll be right with you in spirit and prayer. Love, Pat

Oh, how funny! Trey even posted my personal message to him, lol. I thought he'd figure out the last message was for his eyes only since I placed it in parenthesis.

I was in school all day today and will be through Friday. It's heck to hit the books again! The teacher is a great friend of mine (an officer, co-worker) and she is keeping it interesting.

Next week I start some of the work to be done by the dentist, followed by the initial work by the periodontist. I'm not as afraid of the pain as I am the expense. I will pay more to them over the next 12 months than a new car would cost. Say a prayer that I can secure enough overtime to help me cover the expenses. It may seem rather small of me to ask for prayers for His help for finances. Forgive me. I speak for a living and am fighting to keep my own teeth (and replace lost bone) to keep working the years that I must before I can retire.

Sorry to drag on so. You guys are great to be here for me.

Well, hugs to all. I will try to get some sleep soon so I can hit the books again tomorrow.

Maggie

If your Sunday issue was too long to be seen through your email provider, please use the link at the very beginning of the issue to read it online (from the a2z web site). The link is also at the top of the QT web page.

Hope this reaches you. Using a borrowed computer. Didn't have time to send it before going to class this morning.

Ditto for me and the fog, as well. Prayers for Joel! I missed the details on why he is in the hsp but not matter, as long as he is on the mend!!
I am going to make that Nurse appointment, tomorrow for my shingles shot! I certainly don't want them.
As far as the H1N1 shot....I am trying to refuse it. It is mandated for all health care workers in NYS. I get the seasonal flu shot, religiously, but I don't trust the other one.
Heading out to a quilt show,l with The Mighty Finn. Get well everyone!!
Maggie, I won't miss the issue if it doesn't come out for a day or two. I think EVERYONE else can be patient, as well!!
