Prayers are with you Shirley!! We are home safe and sound and Brian is doing just fine. He did have the laproscopic kind of surgery with the little holes so recovery is so much better. We did have 3 1/2 days of quality time together which was very nice. Good Grief has it ever been HOT here! We basically stayed in the motel and went out to eat since the heat was unbearable and we didn't want to push Brian to hard. The heat index was way over 100 and I think we have more it to come before it breaks! Even me who is never hot was miserable!! Hopefully it won't be so unbearable when you are all down here for our big get together! I'm sure we'll have fun anyway! Counting down now and hardly can wait! What a nice birthday for you Doe - sounds like you had a great time and such a surprise, huh? Got to get some things done around here before hitting the hay. Boy, did my own bed fell good last night! It's always a treat to go away but always nicer to get home again! Guess that is a "getting old" thing! God Bless All!

Thank you all for your prayers. Your trip is getting close. All you have a good time and enjoy your selves and for gosh sakes don't for get the sun screen and hats. Sun damage can be terrible. Tomarrow is my Pre-Op physical and blood tests and heart work so I can be all set for the 30th.
Typing one handed is hard but been doing it for some time now. I can't spell worth a hoot this way but I keep on trying. New computer is real different from my 10 year old one. I miss some of its features like selection on the print page. It doesn't even have one that I can find. It is a H/P Pavilion with a screen twices as big as my old one.
Take cake all. I am going to miss you all. Hugs big time, Shirley

Good Morning & Happy Father's Day to all the dads, & even the Mom's who get to be the dad too!
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I was kidnapped for 10 days of r.v.ing. But...whimper no computer. So starts the novella....
Hubby said we will celebrate my b.d on the weekend as he couldn't get the 11th off. That's o.k. no big deal, we were just going out for dinner. At 8 in the morning on the 11th, a big r.v. pulls in, I thought boy that looks just like Jan & Ron's, this person is lost. As Jan & Ron live in Sask. I laughed & cried as she jumped out. She said we're going camping. Then a camper & truck pull in, in it is Tony driving, he was our best man at our wedding. Haven't seen him for 4 yrs., & his girls. They're from Manitoba now, then 2 other couples. Chris was home at morning break, 9:15. I said all these guys are going camping & stopped in to say hi. He said I lied, I'm home now, the next ten days off. I laughed & cried some more as he had arranged the whole thing. In our younger days we were all spontaneous at our r.ving. Let's go to b.c. together or wherever. Quick phone ins sick, etc. So I could believe the first 2 couples had done just that & planned a surprise drop in, to ask if we could get away. But I started to figure somehting was up when Scott & Gloria showed up. Hubby said he started e-mailing everyone a year ago, at the last heart attack. That he would determinedly get well. Could who start planning this trip & get days off. He said he didn't dare use the phone, as I may be in the room or answer, etc. He said he figured I could use a break after this last 2 years. Not just a weekend, but a whole 10 days of my favorite thing, r.v.- ing, & to top it all off at my favorite place in the whole world. I still get mushy & choked up thinking of it.
So I'll catch up on the posts now. Prayers & hugs going out to all.

Happy Father's Day to all of our a2z guys !!!

Well wishes and speedy recovery to our family members still having health concerns. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just a few more weeks and many of us will be in Florida together and we are very excited about it. This will be the biggest "slumber party" we've had yet!

Off to work I go. Have a great day.

Love to all,
Maggie

Good morning, friends...Yes, my Birthday Reminder told me that Linda would have had a birthday recently. I couldn't even go in and look at the date because it would have made me so sad. My brother would have had a birthday in April, though, and it didn't bother me so much, this year.
Shirley - I hope your surgery goes well and accomplishes what you need. I am glad it isn't me going through it - gulp - sounds quite dreadful, but I am such a sissy!!
Rita - Best wishes for your son's speedy recovery. I don't think appendectomys are so bad, when they use a laparoscope...tiny incisions and less pain with an easier recovery.
Patricia in MI - I don't know where summer is but it sure isn't here! We did have a few days of nice weather, but it is cold and rainy again, today and through the weekend. I don't care. I am going to sleep as much as I can!! I have to work an extra night this weekend, so that shouldn't be a hardship, either!!
Maggie - I swear I am going to get some recipes out to you, soon!! Someone in AL has been after me to get on the ball!!
I came home from work, yesterday morning, and saw the most beautiful pioneer pansy, growing in the middle of my lawn, all by its little self. I think that made it all the prettier!! I took a picture of it with my cell phone, today. Maybe, I can snap one with my 35mm camera for posterity!!
I am taking my computer down on Saturday morning until I don't know when. I am purchasing a new computer and will have my files downloaded onto the new one, so you all may not hear from me for a week or so. Mike will be back tomorrow night, so he will be able to go pick it up, next week, if I don't feel like making the drive to Plattsburgh!
I am heading out to walk his dog, now. Rain or shine, the pooch has to go out for a walk, as he refuses to soil his own 1/3 of an acre!! He is sooo sweet! He has slept by my bed for the past two weeks, refusing entry to any and all kitty cats who might want to snuggle with their mama. They will be glad when Mike is home again, too! He will distract Max long enough for them to gain access to my bedroom!!
Have a good weekend, all

Checking in to let you know I will be gone until Sunday night. We are on our way to Jacksonville tomorrow morning to be with our son Brian who had emergency surgery this morning to take out his appendix. He will be able to go home tomorrow so mom has to go and take care of her "baby" for a couple of days. I'll check in when we get back. God bless all!

Boy Shirley I know you are not looking forward to surgery but I do do hope that it will give you relief from all your pain! Sounds like you will have a really good surgeon so keep the faith! We will keep you in our prayers. Married huh? How exciting is that!! I hope she will check in here once in awhile so we can hear from her and offer her our love and best wishes for many many happy years!! I just finished cooking dinner on my new stove. Had to break down and get a new one when my over door completely broke! It had been giving me trouble and last weekend a big metal piece broke. I figured it would cost a forturn to fix and since the stove was old I just replaced it. I went to Sears and found just what I wanted for a very good price. Someone had decided they didn't want that model and had returned it so I got it for half price!! It is an electric glass top and it cooks a lot hotter than my old stove so it will take awhile to get used to it. Also baked a cake to try out the oven. Nancy is taking her granddaughter back today so will be home tomorrow with us some more good peaches!! Not much other news here but just wanted to check in and let you all know I am alive. God bless all!!

Hello friends, Well went down to the Orthopedics in Seattle for the 3rd time, yesterday. The report is not what I wanted to hear but better than none. They can not do a replacement of my shoulder because I would be laid up for 3-6 months and the bone is dying. Part of it has already has because of the blood flow is being blocked off so they will go in on the 30th of this month and cut notches in what remains of the bone to see if they can get it to bleed and rebuild bone in the joint. This can't be any more painful than it has been. I am lucky enough to get 2 hours of sleep at a stretch at night. I have the doctor who takes care of the Sea Hawks doing the surgery. I will have a 3-6 week recovery. With the shoulder replacement it would have to be completely immobile for the recovery time. This time I will be in a cast of some type.
Its Cool that Lynn and Larry were married last week. They look so happy in the letter she sent. I am tickled for her. Her dress was pretty and the weather was great. Couldn't have been nicer.
Take care, Shirley

Sshh! I'm tiptoeing in the door and waving..grin!

Happy belated birthday Doe! I guess I'm joining the ranks of the "laters".

It poured rain all day yesterday, so no camping. It's a little mushy..eww. Jer has decided that he's going to the city to the "boat" overnite, as well as seeing an indoor football game. I get some quiet time! Woo hoo! Next weekend we're traveling to Missouri to camp and have Father's Day with my stepdad. So I've been doing paperwork, rearranging insurance issues (grrr) and paid a few bills. Then I got a call last nite from Mom that dad had rolled over a gravel truck he was driving...heavy sigh! Just bumps and bruises and a big headache. Wow! Pretty darn lucky, and yes, he was wearing his seat belt. He was helping out his old boss who was short handed. The truck didn't fair so well, it was totaled.

Guess I'll go hop in the shower, hoe and weed my little garden and peruse the freezer for something for supper. Have a great weekend all!

love and hugs

Greetings my quiet friends and birthday greetings to Doe. A warm welcome to the A2Z family to my friend Judy in Cocoa, FL. and thanks again to Maggie. Going nuts, short trip, trying to keep up with things. One thing after another. Uncle Larry isn't doing really well at the new nursing/rehab center so I've been running more and still plenty of stuff to take care of - my home is suffering. Came home today and someone had hit our mailbox again! We also received notice that our longtime broker/investment counselor has died. What the heck next! So far I'm not crying, but do have a strong tendency to giggle insanely. I can't wait for GSEE! Best wishes to all. Pat

Happy Birthday, Doe!!
Uh, Shirley....what kind of weather did you send us??? No, it is rainy and muggy. I don't know if I was wet from rain, or from sweat, when I walked Max tonight!! It was a Florida type of evening...too warm for a coat, too wet to go without!
Hi to everyone else...I need to finish my dinner or pack it up and take it to work!

Happy Birthday Doe. Summer babies are the best. They get parties out side
and school is out. You can all go to the beach even if it all the way down in Vancouver. I learned to sorta swim at Lumbermans Arch on the the
Berrard Inlet. This is probably mispelled but I try. Love your recipes
in the news letters. Thank you. Hugs Shirley
