Maggie - Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day to everyone! I am heading out to Albany, to spend the weekend with my daughter. I might come up for air sometime next week. Finn goes to the vet's overnight on Monday for his teeth cleaning. I have a chiropractic appointment, Tuesday afternoon, after I get back from picking Finn up, in the other direction! I think Wednesday is a day of rest! I hope!

Hi all,
Happy Birthday Maggie. Happy Mothers day to all you other mothers. I'm back. My computer died last week. It's in the shop, but my sons surprised me with a new one today. It has vista and I have to learn how to use the programs, but I guess I'll learn someday. LOL. I have to figure out how to copy onto the documents. Any instructions? I was trying to get to the library to check my e-mail, but that didn't work out too well. With the kids, I just can't get there. So I have almost 900 emils to check, it may take me awhile to get caught up. Still trying to figure out whats what, may take me awhile.

My three youngest boys were here yesterday to take me out for lunch and deliver my Mother's day present. My youngest lives in Indianapolis and I don't get to see him as often as I would like. He's in school and working full time, so his time is limited.
Since Mothers's Day fell on the 11th, they know I wouldn't be home today.
My own Mother died on May 11th, 28 years ago It was Mother's day. They knew I'd be driving down to Evansville to put flowers on her grave. I always do it on the anniversary of her death, its just harder when it falls on Mother's day. Today was really rough. Its windy, raining and cold and I was by myself. I guess the weather got me down as much as anything because I usually handle the situation better.
So the weather is crappy, I'm depressed and it just sucks. I guess I need to pull up my big girl panties and deal with it.

Marty,
My mother died just before her birthday in 1997 and I miss her lots and lots. Dad died the year before and I miss him too.
I know your Mother would rather you celebrate her life instead of mourning over her death. Mom always said that on the day she died, she wanted us to cry our hearts out and then starting the next day, always celebrate her life and don't cry anymore. That's what I'd like my kids to do, too.
Prayers to you and yours,
Love,
Pammie

Got this in an email late yesterday and wanted to share it with ya'll:

DEAR ABBY: As Mother's Day approaches, please remind your readers to appreciate and SPEND TIME with their mothers while they are on this Earth. This year, Mother's Day will mark exactly one year since my dear, sweet mother died in my home. She had been living in a nursing home for more than two years, suffering from dementia, but got pneumonia. I brought her to my home from the hospital for the last two weeks of her life.
I am left with so many "what ifs" and "I should haves," but I did the best I could with what I knew then. I saw so many patients in the nursing home who seldom -- if ever -- had any visitors, it made me sick.
I just want everyone to take time in their busy lives to devote to their parents while they are still here. I am grateful that God gave us those last two weeks with Mom. I feel she knew where she was, and it brought all of us peace. There were too many times I was "too busy" with my family. Please just be there for your mom or dad. -- WISHING MOM WERE HERE, IN EAU CLAIRE, WIS.

DEAR WISHING: Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your dear mother. For you, Mother's Day will always carry with it a tinge of sadness. Please do not burden yourself further with "what ifs" and "should haves." Live in the moment. Regret is the cancer of life. When you visit the cemetery, you might find comfort in reciting the following prayer from the Hebrew Union Prayer Book:

"I remember thee in this solemn hour, my dear mother. I remember the days when thou didst dwell on earth, and thy tender love watched over me like a guardian angel. Thou hast gone from me, but the bond which unites our souls can never be severed; thine image lives within my heart. May the merciful Father reward thee for the faithfulness and kindness thou hast ever shown me; may he lift up the light of his countenance upon thee and grant thee eternal peace! Amen."

I got this cutie from Anita in WA State. Some of you will get to meet her in August. What a wonderful person she is.

After 20 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the missus felt her husband begin to fondle her in ways he hadn't in quite some time. It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down over her breasts, stopping just over her lower stomach.

He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the side of her breast again, working down her side, passed gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf. Then, he proceeded up her inner thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.

As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, "Honey, that was wonderful.

Why did you stop?"

I found the remote," he mumbled.

Now, isn't that just the funniest thing you've read today?

Hugs to all,
Maggie

Wow, I've been trying to log on for hours. Do you suppose all the fires that are recking havoc has anything to do with it? It is safe where I am, but Pat, are you in any danger?
Now, in the morning paper, A driver in Niceville was injured when a turkey flew into his windshield. Tell me Rita, what do you know about this. Was it your turkey? Maybe Nancy had a hand in it? LOL girls.
Flying turkeys must be a great topic of conversation !!!!

Hello my friends, no the fires are no threat to us. Remember, we are on an island that is less than 2 city blocks across where we are. We can smell the smoke in the air, especially early morning. I I I 95 has been closed in some areas, but again, no threat to us. Bless those who are watering their roofs and packing up valuables. Hope ya'alls Mother's Day was fine. Family tradition - grandmother and mother always had an orchid corsage for Mother's Day that was not kept in the refrigerator. We have all worn them all day, every day, until they were unsightly Me too, thanks kittys. Pat, Merritt Island, FL

Good Afternoon All,

I saw that story about the turkey in our newspaper too! Wild country up here, huh? I wonder if Stan, Nancy's hubbie saw the story. He's the hunter! You know they call this area "LA", don't you? LA translates into "lower Alabama". We have the beaches but we also have lots of pine trees and areas for hunters. No fires up here yet but it is extremely dry here too! All of you down south please stay safe!

Doe glad you are home and recuperating. Take it easy and get your strength back. Also glad that Leasa is home safe and sound!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Heard from both kids and got beautiful flowers from my Dana. There must be at least 2 dozen pale pink, peach and cream roses cut short and arranged in a low round see-through vase with the stems in the water wrapped with a string of pearls. She had them delivered to my work yesterday morning so I could enjoy them all week. All my co-workers are loving them too! Really unusual and pretty!

Tom's playing cards tonight so I have been catching up on things on the computer. Getting hungry so guess I'll go see what I can scrounge up to eat. God bless all!

Good morning.

The issue has been posted:
http://www.a2zrecipes.net/05142008.html

I spoke to NJWLinda a couple of days ago and she sounded wonderful. She has absolutely no idea when she'll be released but she sounds ready! She sends her love to all of her a2z family.

Prayers going up for your step-dad Brenda. And for your mom! She must be tuckered out, poor thing.

Off to work I go. Have a great day all!

Hugs,
Maggie
