It’s going to be another hot day here in the foothills of North Carolina. I am feeling much better; but, still have that summer cold hanging on. I don’t think I told everyone that Beth’s divorce is final and she got her maiden name back. It is so nice that she is a Key again. She is still in summer school – has at least one more week. In the mean time chores just keep building up. I still have trouble if I stand too long; or, have to walk very far. Who knew that a new hip would take this long for me to just do the ordinary household chores. Of course part of it is my breathing; COPD is not much fun. You take care now; God Bless and keep you and yours, Treva

Hope this finds you all well. Glad to hear Treva that your progress continues, to you it may seem slow, but you're amazing the rest of us. You are doing excellent girl! Last week was pretty much monsoon week here. Really horrendous winds and the heaviest rains I've seen in years, had some hail even. This week is very hot and still during the day. Our gardening is for the most part completed for the planting part. Just a few herbs to pick up this weekend. Which Hubby promises me, he will take off for my birthday. We will wait til the weekend to celebrate as he works during the week. Alas, it seems he spends the weekend working lately too. He went 68 days straight without a full day off. I shouldn't complain, I know, its truly a blessing in these times. But, I'd like to see him more than just dinner and " Good night Hon." lol.But we're in the busy season right now. To me, it seems we're always in the busy season. O.K. I'll stop whining. I know, it IS a blessing. Next week I'm going to try my hand at this truly decadent chocolate cake-cheesecake. There's a cheesecake layer between 2 chocolate cake layers...hmmm...sounds interesting, talk about having your cheesecake and cake too. Plus there's a killer carrot cake with praline filling I want to try, its either that or a 4 layer too tall peanut butter chocolate caramel thingy. We'll see. I'll keep you posted as to what I do. Also going to try this Dr. Pepper barbecued chicken and it'll be the first time I try brining a chicken. So that's the cooking and gardening front news here. Have any of you tried the potato bin idea. This year is a first for us. Could use any tips. Plus tips on gardenia and wisteria. Picked up both last nursery hopping trip, never grew those before either. So any gardening tips are welcomed. Well dear friends, I shall sign off of this long chatty note. Love, hugs and prayers to all of you. Hugs, Doe.

Beautiful weather here in Swanton, Ohio. Highs this week in the 70's and lows in the 40's and 50's. PERFECT, my favorite. Rain perhaps on Thursday.
Carol, when is your retirement? Bet you're really looking forward to it. I love being retired!!
Treva, glad you are progressing; attitude is everything when healing.
Where is everyone???
DOE, stay well and that's an order!!
Hugs and love to all,
Pammie

The weather here has been quite frightful!! We have had some real thunder-boomers and even tornado warnings, south of us, in the Albany area, last week. Today, it is cold!!! I am going to have to wear a jacket when I go out, today!
Hope every one is doing well out there!!
I went to an all-day mystery quilt class on Saturday, after I got done work! I left at 8 p.m., with a not quite finished quilt but had a blast! However, my body is giving me a series of lectures, today, starting with "Can we go back to bed, now??" I will be all week recuperating but it was worth the effort!

Good Morning, Another Monday has rolled around as well as a start to the month of June and summer will really be here soon – at least the technical beginning of summer. The way the weather is acting it wouldn’t surprise me if the fourth of July parades were called off for snow. Hasn’t the weather been awful? If not tornados there are floods and fires.
According to the weather man we are in for a week of scattered thunder storms. We had a rough one yesterday that lasted way into the night. Hopefully todays will wait until afternoon so I can get my e-mail done before I have to turn the computer off.
Do hope things are good where you are and that you are feeling well. I continue to progress; slow but sure. Take care now; God bless you and yours, Treva

So sad to hear about Jim.This is so odd, a friend of La-La's reached me on FB.He had phoned her #, and was abruptly told she was gone. Then hung up on.So I told him we were sort of shocked, that we knew she was ill. Then there's was nothing from her then she was gone. May Father's will be done, that's all we can hope for- regarding Jim.If its a major stroke, then perhaps he would be better not regaining conscious. I know that sounds terrible. But, I saw my father in law go through a major stroke.Life was not kind.My prayers for sure going up, I will alert my church's prayer chain too. My health has been declining lately, the ovarian cancer is gone. But now, there seems to be other probs lurking.Hugs and Love to you all.

I received sad news from Jim's daughter. He had a major stroke, is paralyzed on his left side and is unconscious. She fears he may not make it through this time. Please include him, his wife and family in your prayers.

Hugs to all,
Maggie

Oh, and my sister!! She was sprung from the hospital on Thursday...She is in a lot of pain, but my pain threshold is miles higher than hers. Lymph nodes were clear, so no chemo. She just has to get back to a state of wellness!
