Kevin did the podcasts and he's got one heck of a personality. Nothing against Erica but she doesn't appear to have any plan or clue on what she will do for her webcasts. They are mostly ad hoc and it shows. Kevin actually showed the control room tonight, introduced us to more crew memebers and did this funny thing with a TV monitor and a pic of AC as a kid.

I was starting to get the feeling that I wasn't missing much when it came to Erica's webcasts from what I've heard of them, but I would LOVE to be able to see Kevin's. Sounds like Erica needs to step it up a bit.

Yep, he said he be back on Monday. I remember a couple of years ago he worked straight through most of the holidays, it was pretty odd, but I don't think he's into the holidays the way most people are.

I don't think Anderson hates L.A. the way a lot of New Yorkers do. He lived out there for a while and he has friends in the area that he probably hooks up with, so even though he might dislike all the traffic and driving around that you have to do there, I think he probably can handle the other aspects of L.A. I remember on the blog once when he was down there, it was such a gorgeous day, he said it was the kind of day in L.A. that makes a person wonder why they live anywhere else.

Why do you have that impression? Sometimes when he's going there he seems downright giddy.

He has mentioned in the past, through the AC360 blog (back in the stone age when he was actually posting blog entries) that he hates the hussle and bussle of LA, especially the traffic. It's hard to get around, etc.

But you do have a point about him being giddy. I suppose he could be giddy because when he is in LA, it's often because he's doing 60 minutes reporting and I think he is proud to be doing those. Never thought it could be because of someone "special". Who knows, maybe he hooks up with Seacrest when he's over there.. Ha!

@Gorilla: Yeah, I'm sure all the anchors get those kinds of emails.

My guess is that AC360 has more shallow viewers than American Morning...

I'd bet on that too. But part of that is CNN's fault. They promote Anderson like he's a hot celeb, rather than a journalist.

I don't think AC loves being in LA.

I've thought that too. He never seems to pass up an opportunity to note how much he works. But then again, he's lucky enough to have a fulfilling job, so more power to him in that respect. Most of us sad saps are just slaving for the paycheck. Though it does seem like he's edging towards burnout sometimes.

@Hm: I agree about people taking the time to email about John Roberts not wearing a tie rather than any of the topics on the show. I'm sure Kiran gets her share of emails because of some of her outfits too! It is sad.

As far as AC saying he'd see us Monday...he has been known to say that and then in fact, not be on or we see some pre-recorded special so who knows. My guess is that if he takes off, it will be after "Heroes" and not before. I don't think AC loves being in LA.

@Gorilla: I saw that John Roberts segment on TVNewser. Too funny. It also had me shaking my head because that's what people choose to email about? I'd like to think that they were all tongue-in-cheek messages, but I'm betting some people were completely serious with their tie criticism.

Hm, I don't know. It seems like the perfect time for him to take off. And besides, doesn't he have someone he'd like to spend some time with? All this working makes me think he doesn't, which makes me sad.

I agree, Erica on CBS's Morning Show is a great fit for her. It was a bit humorous on American Morning today, there was all this to do about John Roberts not wearing a tie for the past two days. He still hasn't explained why. Just said casual Fridays. Apparently they got tons of emails. One person emailed and asked if Roberts was going to unbutton his shirt more and wear gold chains. It was funny because after the break, that is exactly what he did. John has definitely loosened up.

Some people like Suze Orman and other don't. Not sure why AC360 wanted to spend time answering questions again but at least the phone in questions were'nt a fiasco as they sometimes can be. We didn't get Gary Tuchman's report that has been promised the past few nights and we get Sarah Palin and the Turkey as "The Shot" again. Sounds like AC gave his production team the night off....

I think if Erica had a problem with her role, she would have made it known by now. How long has she been in New York?

So maybe we won't be seeing AC for a while (besides Heroes), unless he's REALLY a workaholic and can't stop himself.

If Erica suddenly departs 360, we'll know that she thinks her role there is not up to par. But it could be that she doesn't have a problem with it at all and it might be exactly what she wants. The viewers of 360 seem to like Erica and it might be a problem if she left.

maybe when Campbell goes on maternity leave that could leave some room for shuffling around - John Roberts is great for the evening, they need a man for the morning, but maybe something woul open up for erica there, even if it if for general interest stories around NYC or whatever if she isn't a full co anchor

@Well, I agree that she isn't right for 360. She's perky and bubbly which is perfect for morning shows. I think she might be good on American Morning.

I wanted to clarify: I do think Erica is talented, but that she is just not suited for that type of program, and yes she is underused there. Total waste.

The Early Show she is good at.

@Well, I agree. The Early Show is a much better fit for Erica. I think she is way under used at CNN. Bascially she's like Anderson's sidekick. Waste of her talent.

Campbell is fine, I don't have a problem with her personality, and lately I have gotten to like her more as she is expressing her opinions more and more on the program. The way I look at it is there are anchors on every station that someone doesn't like, whatever floats your boat. I mean, when you look at Erica and all the fanfare made over her, I don't get it, when all she does is read news, a handful of light stories, and talks about mullets and turkey gobbles, and strokes Anderson's ego on the webcam. But whatever, just don't watch the ones you don't like. To me, on her old program watching her was like watching grass grow reading there as well, basically light stuff.

But I do like her on The Early Show. Much better forum for her. She is in over her head on CNN and the evening news - she doesn't have a grasp or good understanding of many of the issues.

@The Mole: That's pretty harsh. Though I may not always agree with her, I think Campbell has a rather cute and engaging personality.
