Hi there,
Not sure that you realize how much our friendship has meant through the years, since we were literally babies. Your talent, compassion and humor have helped me through some difficult times. Stay as you are my dear friend. You are definitely one of a kind! Hope to see you soon.
May God continue to bless and keep you...

Darryl I had the joy to interview you on my syndicated radio show a couple of years ago when you first recorded with The Embers. I love the music. i love your approach of marketing and love the website. Your talent appears to be unlimited. Your style is your own. No one can ever take that away. One of the most gifted singers and artists of our time. God bless you my friend.

Darryl, I hope that you and Tootie II and family are doing ok, I know how much love that the Tookes men had along with the understanding that you had for each other. I still can't get over the children and how they have grown, I loved seeing the interaction between them, you, Hansel II and Hansel III. It does not seem that along ago that were were going to each other's house, playing ball on "Tookes Court" and playing music togeather. The bond and friendship that our parents had, the memories of College Terrace and Tallahassee will live forever. Merry Christmas to you, Donna and the children.

Dear Darryl,

I passed on information about your father's passing from the FAMU website to my sister, Marcie. She may have already spoken to you, but let me extend our regards and sympathies. I will always appreciate how he reached out to help Shaun. He was a great man and he will be missed. Always,
  Morris

Thank you for your kindness and support during this very difficult time. My father was a great man, who did whatever he could to help people who needed him. I am deeply moved by the many cards, emails, and calls that I have gotten from people who want me to know how much they loved the Coach.

I cannot thank you enough. We're going to really miss him.

God bless you. I love you.

Darryl:

My condolences to you and your family in the loss of your Dad. Not only was he a great man, but one of compassion and understanding. He will always be Uncle Tootie to me.

Hang in there and I remember that I am only a phone call away.

May God bless you and keep you:

Darryl, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. He was a great man who positively influenced the lives of many students at FAMU and in Tallahassee. I am honored to have known him and I am glad I had the opportunity to speak with him at homecoming last year.

God bless you and your family.

Hi Darryl,
Debra Gordon pointed me in your direction! I'm located in Nashville and am a classically trained musician, but discovered my passion of writing! Hence, that is how I hooked up with Debra.

If you're ever in Nashville, let me know, I would love to see you perform.

Oh my dear friend Darryl: As you and your band members have each meandered within thy spirit of Self, just KNOW the 'fruits' are on time. Insodoing, The Darryl Tookes Band has crossed universal longitude and latitude. It is my hope that our earthly friends will receive and interpret your music, through eyes and ears which sit on the right side of the clouds! It is indeed a pleasure, to be among the first to post a message to you and The Band. --LadyDJG (TheMediaLady)

Darryl it was great seeing you Atlanta. Its amazing that it has been it really has been that long since our paths crossed. Deloris sends her love. And by the way thanks for the compliment, but don't you think the 4th grade was stretching it a bit.

So until our we meet again in this journey, take care and remain true.

Darryl,
I am your cousin, Marcie Brown's brother. I want to put you in touch with a good friend who's a great vocalist living in California. She's interested in recording so I told her you might be able to advise her. If it's OK with you, I'll give her your contact information.
Congrats on your new album and many more. Marcie wants me to help her stay in touch with you because her computer is down. She sends her best wishes.

A personal welcome from Darryl -

Hi, and thanks for stopping by. Never did I realize what a great relief it would be to finally let go of all my concerns of conformity. As Ira Gershwin might have said, ‘SWonderful!’ My good friend, Margaret Dorn of the Accidentals has this great song called From Day One, which talks about ‘being the girl I have been becoming from day one.’ I think we all can identify with the process of finding ourselves. Discovering our paths. Being comfortable. This is what the Sacred Marriage is all about.

Now that the guys and I have taken the time and energy to dedicate ourselves to developing our project totally independently, we are experiencing glowing support. Thank you for being a part of our ride. Our Journey To The Hieros Gamos. People are looking for the “third way.” I know I am. I hope that in our music, you will feel that same feeling that the guys and I share. That you will feel a little bit closer to home.

We are a partying bunch – love to play live. Nothing better. And we are really looking forward to performing for you. Soon, yes?

So until then … I’ll be reading your posts. Thanks again.
Please visit often, and bring your friends along for the journey.

XO,

Darryl
