This weekend he's at the Regent Centre:http://www.regentcentre.co.uk/event/back-future playing the part of Brian May on stage in their theatrical production! The same show is at the Lighthouse in a couple of weeks!!!

While you're at the Regent you might also notice I'm playing their later in the week for another show:http://www.regentcentre.co.uk/event/fame-f...bos-musical-company but I'll be hiding down the in the orchestra pit!

Gotta dash - I've got 108 pages of music to learn by Wednesday!!

Dear confused, Yeah we were double booked with Jak The Lad, but as a favour to Ross and them, and as they are mates of ours, and it's their first time at the White horse, we thought we would be kind an give them the gig. Lots of factors in there. Be warned tho' we are coming back to haunt you, bigger and better than ever in February so hold on to your toupe's its gonna be one wild ride!!!!

After being the drummer with PV for a long while now, I was sad and shocked to receive a call on Sunday morning that I have been sacked. I would like to thank all the friends and fans who supported me over the years.

For those of you who haven't been on facebook:

Hey rock-dudes and Permanent Vacationers (or PVettes as Max put it!!),
Huge apologies for last night at Dukes. The owners came in to watch 2 songs into our second set and decided that we were simply too damn good for their wine bar!!! Amps off! They though that our people had caused some trouble earlier on and that the place was not busy enough so wack on the 80's disco music and pull in the chavs and chavettes by the bucket-load.... The reality was it got no busier after we stopped. Rest assured peeps I will be taking this up directly with the owner and asking him how and when he intends to compensate you all.
Special thanks to Will, Andy, the female assistant manager and staff for looking after us, we know you were simply following orders and you made us feel welcome..
Mega thanks to Ellen and Phil and blonde friend, Julia and Anne, Becks and Wilma, Max and Sandra, Ian and friends, our Judas priest fans who got asked to leave through no fault of their own (I know coz i saw it happen from the stage), Trev's female blonde friend from the ship and anyone who my tired brain has missed!
So next week we are at THE live music place around in Southampton - the Swann - dont be put off by the pictures that make the place look small folks - it is like a tardis and it rocks from wall to wall - so please make the trip - if you do I will personally buy you a pint in your honour! (did I just say that... Mmmmm, gonna be skint if you all come ha ha ;-)!)

One down - four to go of your mini-tour... 5 gigs in 7 days!! Tonight was the White Hart near Salisbury. Nelson tomorrow, Ringwood Tuesday and Wimbourne Thursday. Yes thats four, but Matt and I are at the Nelson Sunday too doing Houseband - Karaoke with a live band.

It's going to be a tough week, but if the rest of the gigs are as good as the White Hart was, then it's going to be a lot of fun.

A HUGE thank you to all you wonderful peeps who came along to support our virgin voyage at The Oak in Burton tonight!!!
Mick (the owner) has said we are definitely allowed back next year which is great. Seems the Oak is Burton's best kept secret - I think it has a great atmosphere and I am looking forward to returning.
Once again thanks to Sandra (and Max of course) for photography, Julia and Ann (and friend) for looking after backstage(the way to the toilets actually!??), Steve and Thin Lizzy for making the trip out, Paul Cole and his fairer half, The Wheels of Steel fans(you know who you are!!),the chappy who always comes on his own and always showers us with compliments making us embarassed(see, i'm crap with names),the UberShredder Mr Wood and his friends for coming along and of course thanks to anyone I have forgotten to mention.

Thanks to everyone who made it down to the Stray support slot at Late n Live tonight.
We had a good time and Stray were awesome as always. We are going to try and work more with them in the future if dates etc allow.Del and the boyz are great fun to work with.
If you're up for it, come on down to Weymouth next weekend where you can see us in action with Rob Lacey on drums. Rob is the drummer for QED and is filling in as a favor for Trev who is away in Bonny Scotland.

Just to let you know how hard I'm working over here in LA. I was up till 2 last night at a party organised by Massive (they did the software for this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH3GH7Pn_eA - check it out it's an awesome beer ad!). We had to stand around a swimming pool all night drinking free Margarita's - it was tough (and very LA!). To make it a little easier they fixed limos to take us from the hotel to the party (I've never been in a car with a bar in it before).

Anyway, I'm sure you guys will have a great time at the Manor! Have fun, and I'll see you guys next week.

Well, well, well! The Inn on the Furlong in Ringwood - what a great little venue. It was our virgin performance at the Furlong tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
A special thanks to everyone who made the effort to come down tonight making it a great evening.
Also thank you for all the supportive comments from those of you who saw us for the first time.
Thanks to Jez for trying us out and also for booking our return trip to Ringwood which will be Saturday 11th October (replacing the Marlborough gig which has been cancelled).
In addition we are also looking at the possiblity of another Tuesday performance towards the end of the year.

Was it busy? Guess what, Thank you to all 15 yes 15 people who were there (Sue and Dave too) You witnessed a P.V rehearsal!!! and we got paid too!!! Ha Ha Ha!! Ain't life grand?!

I almost made it down tonight. Always fun to get out and see a band - apparently you guys aren't too shabby on a good night.

Offspring 2.0 has still not given any signs of a shipping any time soon, so I was given the all clear to sneak out for a few hours. I got within spitting distance of the George, when I got a phone call and had to dash back... Turned out to be a false alarm!!! By the time all was calm again it was too late to make it out.

Hope you all had fun...

Ok, tonight (Saturday the 12th) we are doing a low key secretish gig at the George in Poole. This is for Naomi's birthday and not an official gig. We are just keeping our hand in while Ian and Mandy await the arrival of their new baby. Therefore we have Brian on bass duties so expect the old classics! Lads - Just wanted to say a huge thankyou for braving the weather and coming to wet Baydon sat night. I know we are in the Arse end of Beyond, and we dont get out much, but we love it when strangers come along who are not from round these parts, and if they Rock like you guys then all the better! Set was great, Sound was Fab, Vocals Kicking and Yngwie prodigy in the making made for a cracking night. (Never even noticed that there was a 2nd Gtr missing). Next time - DONT try and skip songs, i always make a point of checking the set list in advance - i like to cheat!
Looking forward to October - Planning to pack it out in respect for your efforts to get there. :) Charlie, Kat and all the rest of them.

Dear All,
Thank you to EVERYONE for coming to the Tripp this evening and making it a special night.

As you can see from Ian's previous note he really was very ill (get well soon mate!), so a HUGE thanks to Brian (THE original bass player and founding member of the band) for filling in at the eleventh hour. And like the pro he is, he did a stirling job I think you'll all agree.He has proved his qualification yet again as lifetime honorary band member!!! Thanks Bri for saving the day!

And we may be seeing a bit more of Brian as he is simply itching to come up and jam some Scorpions numbers on guitar with us at a venue near you soon!! Watch this space......

Special thanks also to our resident photographer this evening Sandra who was snapping away, so some piccies of the night will be in circulation soon.

Once again, the fact that you all turned up on a wet and gale-force night made it all worthwhile.

Hopefully all is going well at the Trip - sadly I'm not there because I'm (as they say in France) mal a un parrot. I've got some kind of virus which isn't very nice at all, so I've spent the last 24 hours throwing up and my head feeling like it's about to explode. To make things worse the rest of the family had it too, so i spent the day looking after then - they're all on the mend, so i'm finally getting some rest.

Sorry about bailing on the gig - hope it's all going well without me, and normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Computers!!! Bah!

After the machine problems last month, we swapped in a backup machine that had been lying around spare for a few years. All the excitement of hosting the PV site was just too much for it, and it packed in...

Well we've not got ANOTHER machine swapped in (actually it's a new motherboard in the old machine), and hopefully we're good to go again!

Happy Birthday to you, mashed potatoes and stew, Happy Birthday to you Neil. Have a good one, we are sure you will celebrate in style.

We're Back - did you miss us? Judging by the text's and stuff I was getting the website's breif downtime was noticed more than expected. We had a hardware problem with out web server, that turned out to be more serious than we thought, so Pete (thanks Pete!) who hosts this for us had to swap in a completly new machine. Hopefully all will be good now...

"AWESOME" gig last night at the Ship in Christchurch. Nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. Thanks for lifting us out of the January doldrums. Can't wait to see you at the Christchurch Festival on Friday 4th July.

I would just like to take a moment to say a special "thank you!" to everyone who made the effort to come to the Late and Live last night - Sandra and Max, Steve and Lizzie,Al and Ness, Dylan, Kelly,Jodie, Neil, Neilly, Libster, my helicopter flying friend, Andy and Phil,Caroline and Claudi,Anne, Julie, Angie (and friends) and anyone I forgot to mention!!
Paul Hills (top bloke) has offered sincere apologies on behalf of late and live for the sound problems and will be raising this issue with the management.
We are very sorry that you all turned out and due to matters completely out of our control we were unable to entertain you as we would normally.
The sound on the stage was so bad we could not hear what we were doing and we had to rely purely on instinct.Also there was a constant ringing feedback that was intensifying as the night crept on - you may have only heard it on the last couple of tracks... Hats off to our main man Neilly for singing whilst unable to hear a single word!! He gets the bravery award for last night. As for the rest of us we were just looking at our fingers and hoping it was coming out at your end ok!
Well done to Jak the Lad for doing a sterling job, also in the face of adversity!
So it was offically our worst gig ever!!!
A rock god once said, how you deal with defeat is just as important as how you deal with success - its all character building!
Once again- THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT LAST NIGHT!!!

Well Neil is away - of to the land of the mouse, no doubt to return in a couple of weeks with a huge hangover and a 14 day gap in his memory populated only by shadowy memories of giant rodents, and a talking duck with a speach impediment.

As Matt's away too I guess that leaves me to tell you what happend at the Railway (Trev isn't allowed to operate electrical equipment, and Ralph can only use a computer with one hand...).

It was kind of exactly like Neil predicted (see last blog), and also completly not like that... We got there to find the pub populated by a bunch of guys who were after some Danskt Metal - the speedway GP on Sky Sports that is... Well we're up for any kind of Metal, so we kept quiet until the last race (for those interested, the guy the pub as rooting for placed third in the final), before starting up with some Dorset Metal...

The place was pretty deserted now the big race had finished, and only the support of the bar staff got us through (ta!). Half time, and we're ready to go home... A few friendly faces, but the five of us are making the place look busy! Just like Neil predicted (except its not smokey cause theres no one there! The air-con is broke though so its 80 degrees!).

Then something happened... We drag ourselves up for a second set, play the first song (Breakin'...) and sudenly the place is packed with people screaming, dancing and generally going nuts! Just like Neil predicted (its still not too smokey but now its 90 degrees!). Midnight comes, and we try to make our exit but get dragged back for the usual Smoke, before we decide to go for broke and finish with Jungle!

Then we just had to collect our huge fee's for the evening, while the road crew carefully loaded our stage show into a convoy of lorries, ready for the next show, and our Limo's took us all home. (Ok that bit wasn't as Neil prediected - I just made it up, but I think Neil might have had a taxi to the airport, so that kind of counts)

We've got a couple of weeks R&R now before our big Biker weekend - the Arrowhead Trike 'n' Bike Bash on Friday night, Hotrods and Harleys opening party on the Saturday afternoon, before heading to the King Charles to round out a busy two days... It's going to be a lot of fun...

Hi there all you lovely people in Ashleyville.Great to hear from you. We have really enjoyed playing to you peeps and are sad that the live music is being iced for a while.
It is rare to find a good venue to play at and even rarer to meet such a nice and supportive bunch of people who appreciate what PV is looking to achieve.
Thanks for all your kind support and we really hope we are going to see most of you at the open-air gig in the summer!!

The blog is posted, just a quickie cos my pc is buggered and i had to write it at work. And i didn't slag anyone off either!!!

Saturday was a great gig - last night of the "tour". Wednesday and Thursday were pretty good too (depsite what neilly is going to write about how much he hates Nelsons, they do actually party hard for the last 30 mins). We were all a bit wrecked, but it was a lot of fun. Thanks for coming down to support us.

At least we've got a break next week, before being back in Poole - up the street at the KC (No Ange - thats not the place you got your chicken burger). It's kind of a different vibe to the Charles - less drunken revelry, but more intense... Should be a good night....

Had a totally fab night last night - even if I did have more people putting their lap on my knee than I've had in the last 5 years!!

Was good to see you all again and look forward to next time.

It Doesn't have to be rock tracks, daft pop stuff will do within reason but be warned we will give them the ass kickin PV tend to do with songs!

I'm back from sunny Ibiza and all's well (ish)
I have my leg in plaster due to stage antics at The Stag!!!
Normal service will resume this Saturday at The Manor Arms And Sunday at The Red Shoot. The gigs at Lulworth and the Ship next weekend hopefully should be unaffected,also The Firehouse in Soton will go ahead as planned.

How was your gig at the Nelson last night? Hope it went well. O'Neills has cancelled all our gigs as they're not doing live music on Fridays any more - dunno if you had any there or not.
We're at Poole Quay on thurs night starting at 7.30. If you get there at 7.00 you'll get to see Peter the ball juggler and Jamie Maidment!

Big thanks to the QED boys for letting me sit in with them over the weekend, and thanks to all the familiar faces in the audience. I had a blast filling in on bass for two nights, at two awesome venues:

Finn's in Weymouth is a bit of a trek for us, but it's a REAL rock bar. Can't wait to get back there with PV on November 25th. If you haven't been down, its a real treat. The QED guys were a bit worried, as they usually get asked to play heavier stuff than their regular set, but that suits us just fine! On the night the audience were great, and it was well worth getting home at 2.30 in the morning.

Sunday night had to be the malt & hops in Pokesdown. A classic rock band venue which didn't disapoint. I'd got most of my mistakes out of the way on the first night, so we just blasted though two sets of great music - totally rockin. Loved it! PV haven't made it to the hops yet - they're fully booked up for the next forever with their regular roster of bands. If you want to see PV there (and we WANT to be there!), put in a good word for us...

Again - thanks to the QED guys. They're totally solid, and real easy to be on stage with. We'll be returning the favour later in the month when Pete will be filling in for Matt at the Ship. Can't wait...

Hi All!
Baby Anya arrived safe and sound just before 1AM on Friday night, so while the rest of the band were out partying at the Lord Nelson I was just half a mile or so away at Poole Hospital. I could probably have nipped down to the gig, and been back in time (leaving the guys to clear up!), but its probably best Brian was covering for me (thanks Brian!).

Mother and Baby (and me!) are in good shape - just a bit tired.

I should be "back to work" next weekend - see you all then.

Hope you all like the new look website. Lots of you have been enjoying Neils gig writeups (and details of his trip to see MSG with Matt and NOT RALPH. No not Ralph. Ralph wasn't there, and you didnt' see him there. You can't prove a thing, except for the photos...), but you haven't been leaving him any messages.
