I'm back in the saddle after long and debilitating illness....my spirits high, my endurance low...
Lee, does the creeper trail ride require a "comfort bike", daisy's on our helmets and a ringer bell for crossing state highway's?
I don't want to show up on my long travel Yeti an feel out of place :)

The assault takes me about 4 hours to the summit and of course the ride back is a little faster. It would be safe to say the round trip takes about 6 1/2-7 hours.

Chris, There is a map of it on the "Map My Ride" website. It's just a long ride that I came up with.

Hey Guys, Is anybody up for doing an Assault on Whitetop Sunday?? If so, meet me at the Creeper Trail Head in Abingdon around 10:00 a.m.. Remember the time changes this weekend,so it will feel like 9:00. It's aproximately 41 miles to the summit. We can stop at Whitetop Station for water before doing the last 7 mile climb. Bring a jacket for the descent! 82 miles round trip!

Geoff Hall, one of the rangers out at the Park, measured the course distances. He said that expert was 11.2 miles and sport was about 8.3, but he did not mention the elevation.

Jason, Chris Doss at the park is the main contact. He was the one I talked to about the new courses etc. He would definitely be the place to start.
