If you don't already know this coming Saturday is the Big Walker Century in Wytheville and I would like to see as many local riders to show up wearing the new team outfits and competing as possible. There are 25, 40,62, and 100 mile course options for this event so there is something for everyone. And remember all the proceeds go to charity

Also I am sure Andy could use some help with the event. So if your not wanting to ride and you would like to help with the event post it on the Bulletin Board. After all we are a local club and we really should show our support.

Andy since I am riding I can't help out during the event but if you need any help getting setup let me know and what time I need to be there.

I can not believe that the swvac President for Life was not at the TNF ride as we showed off our new kit to our adoring public. It was unfortunate for him,as many beautiful women followed us during the ride.

Lee, I agree. However, I believe I passed him on Rte 11 as I left town so he is apparently more dedicated to some things than others!

Guys I would have been there last night. When I got to Rural Retreat it was storming so I just turned around and went back home. I figured it was canceled. I do hate that I missed it.

And yes RACER-X I seen you on my way into town last night.

I'd like to invite everyone to come out to the OxBow center in St Paul VA at 6:30 on Tuesday June 23. There will be a meeting for the Spearhead Trail Initiative which wants to build multi-use trails in the SWVA region. Why is this cycling related? Because they want to include Mountain Bikes. We need a good showing of cyclist to show them that the interest is in our area and also to share that a good trail system will draw people in from other areas.

Great Job Andy to you and your staff on the BWCR event. As a local participant, I am very proud to be a part of this and to showcase a Class A cycling event as the BWCR. Through all the heat, wind, and hail I personally had a blast. Thanks for all your efforts!

Andy,
Im sure there are many in this area who agree that we need dedicated mtb trails, not the shared use trails we mostly ride, which are not designed for mtb for the most part.

Most of us probably cannot make it on such short notice, and would likely have to leave work early to get there on time. If there is a petition or some other form for show of support, I think we can get it circulated in the wythe/smyth areas. Also, if there is a web site, let us know.

Thanks for letting us know.

Don
