Southwest Virginia Cyclists is a free recreational bicycling club for all ages and abilities targeting the Marion and Wytheville areas. Whatever your level of proficiency, from beginner to race, our club offers enthusiastic cyclist many ways to get more out of riding. MTB Night Ride
Hungry Mother State Park
5:30pm Tuesday night meet at the Truckers Sign
Course will be determined at start of ride
Lights are options but highly recommended.
If you are planning on attending this ride let everyone know or else ride may start earlier if everyone is ready

 I have to go to Abingdon earlier and will stop on my way back. I will try to be there at 5:00 or sooner. Are you parking at the rangers office on Rte 16?

Now taking orders for SWVAC T-shirts. T-Shirts will be black with all writing and logos in white. Men's and women's are available. All sizing and price info available on the website. Dwight I think I might try and plan another night ride in a couple weeks. I do know that they have night rides at Pandapas Pond on Tuesday nights at 6pm we might consider going up there one time.

East coasters has a nite ride listed on their web site for Thursdays @6:30 at Pandapas Pond,has demo lights also.We have a small group riding 7 sisters on Tuesdays ,leaving campground at 5:30,couple of guys leave earlier/different work schedule 3:30.We have also done some Friday nights up to Big Ben /Walkers mtn fron Little Creek side (Turkey Turnpike )

Anyone interested in a road ride Saturday at 2pm from the Wytheville or Rural Retreat area. 30 or 40 miles approx. 16-19 mph avg.

Todd I have never rode 7 Sister yet. I might come and try a night ride sometime after I at least ride it once during the day.

Keep us posted on rides that you are doing I might be able to make a few of them

If your down the way, Steels Creek can be a fun ride in the dark as well.

Also, Friday Night Lites at Warrior Path State Park near Kgpt.

Jason- yes a pre ride would be good ,some of 7 sis is narrow and in need of work.We keep talking about doing that but then we go ride instead !!But some of that trail is as good as it gets.
Chris- Warrior Path is on my list to do and friday nites are good for me to jump in if you guys do that one .

Friday night rides (FNL) are kind of a regular ride thru the winter.

Chris I need to get down for one of the (FNL) soon. Maybe I can make it in a few weeks.

If anyone is interested I have been night riding a couple days a week at Hungry Mother State park. I generally start right after work at around 5pm

The guys riding 7 sisters at 3:30 on Tuesdays park at campground ,ride up(NORTH) 717 go in at day parking area ,up to top take a right and across to campground ,about 1hr 40 mins & out b4 dark !

Riding Highlands Challange Race Loop out of Beartree parking lot Sunday.
This is ~ 12-13 mile mtn bike loop, but some of us may add more if time allows.
