My husband and sons drove to Oklahoma this holiday weekend to attend high school graduations and spend time with his family. I was HOME ALONE!! The house was extremely peaceful and quiet and since I had no one to clean up after, cook for, or teach, I had little to do. We only have one working car, so I was free from jumping into the world (I did attend church) to seek some activity that would surely feed my flesh. It took no effort to meditate on the Lord day and night and keep my mind on Him. The television and radio rarely came on and I stayed in a place to hear the Holy Spirit…I had a much needed personal retreat. Will I be able to stay in this heavenly place of all day meditation when my family returns with loads of dirty laundry, suitcases full of clothes to put away, laughter, tattling, attitudes, children in and out of the house, and my name being called all day followed by an array of questions and requests? Whew! I need to shift gears now!! Keeping your peace of mind is truly within the heart and mind, not in your surroundings!
