Universal Senority. If you are an employee that has many years in the Postal service, but, because you are in a building that is going to close. You will loose your job. But, in the next town over, there is a clerk with much less time in and he will remain. Universal senority.

m/5093 The day off is overtime. The scheduled days up to 8 hours is out of schedule premium pay for the hours beyond your schedule up to 8 hours. It is still time and a half but falls under a different category than overtime. Then if you work over 8 hours on a scheduled day, over the 8 is overtime.

Can somebody explain a ntft flexible clerk position posted at 30 hours sun/mon off. When your scheduled to work the day off plus 8 hours every other day isn't some of it overtime? When a flexi works 45 hours and has bid schedule of 30 shouldn't it be overtime at least 5 hours overtime not all straight time even if it is posed the previous wendesday

the post office as of today does not pay a bonus to the workers.
the starting pay for a window clerk is 35182 per year. it is per hour but based on a 2080 work year.

how much does a window clerk make to start off as if they were a career employee. Like whats the starting pay rate a window clerk full time. Is it salary or is it per and hour and whats the rate. Also Is there bonus pay that you get for your performance? and what other bonus compensation could you obtain.

m/5084. Excessing out of the installation is by LEVEL and seniority. Your current level is determined by what it says on your Form-50, not what pay you receive. It is not the top 17 by seniority, it depends on how many of each level are excessed.

Excessing is by "level", in our facility, around 70 "level 6" clerks received letters that they have been identified as possibly being excessed, 60 day letters. No "level 7" clerks received any letter nor are they subject to being excessed at this time.

OK, Thank you for your help. I took a look at the contract and now I am even more confused. Under Article 12.5.C.5.a.(4) which is "Reduction in the Number of Employees in an Installation Other Than by Attrition" it states that "Reassignments within installation. When for any reason an installation must reduce the number of employees more rapidly than is possible by normal attrition, that installation:
(4) Shall identify as excess the necessary number of junior full-time employees in the salary level, craft, and occupational group affected on an installation-wide basis within the installation; make reassignments of excess full-time employees who meet the minimum qualifications for vacant assignments in other crafts in the same installation; involuntarily reassign them (except as provided for letter carriers and vehicle service employees in Section C.5.b below) in the same or lower level.
My understanding of this is that employees have to be divided by salary level, craft and occupational group before being reassigned IN the Installation and then that division is carried over into Article 12.5.C.5.b. for reassignment OUTSIDE the installation. Meaning that excessing would be done by seniority within each salary level.
Would you agree?

Nope.
You say excessing is to be out of the installation, which means the clerks from those 2 bldgs cannot bid anywhere else outside those 2 places, and no other clerks can bid into those 2 bldgs. And so to answer your question from /m5077: "My main question is do the top 17 clerks by seniority get to stay?"
Answer: yes.
Levels do not matter, saved grades do not matter, tours do not matter, sections do not matter. Just seniority.

so, just to make sure I understand your response...excessing outside the installation, if all four level 7 positions remain then the current employees in the level 7 positions would remain and the level 6 employee with the saved grade would be subject to excessing of level 6 employees. Correct?

Then excessing will just be by juniority. They'll be no bumping but to stay, clerks must be qualified on the bids they get before the excessing date.
