to me Re # 2832 from the unknown chicken
i """"ressemble""""that remark I was born in FraNCE--WHERE the ladies wear no pants I became a US Citizen in 1977 started @ USPS in 93 and I do not STINK
so do not generalize and talk nonsense you're welcome to come and smell me from TOP to Bottom i only stink when I fart !!! and I do that in the privacy of the men's room Ps I had once a SDO follow me in that room and timing me while I was defecating what pleasure he got out of it , i do not know but my MDO got an earful ( of Sh.T) about it and I brought it up in an EEO redress meeting (about something else ) of course the bast..d claimed that he knew nothing about it -----even though he is the one that sends SDO's after me to HARASS, INTIMIDATE me and retaliate agaINST ME FOR THE RECORD in my file i now have one 7 day one 14 day one more 14 days SUSPENSIONS( for trumped up discipline) they are subject to removal after 12 or 18 months of PERFECT conduct on the floor I am not even allowed to fart in mixed company. AND that's the TRUTH see APWU 's grievances in my behalf
from 93 to 2004 1 grievance from 2004 to the present we quit counting I have not changed a bit as a clerk I only lost a leg in n2001 ( not job related) and they want to get rid of me PUURE ans SIMPLE it is a beautul day 576 calendar days to early retirement at 62 AMEN And AWOMEN for EEO protection lol

This may sound like a coarse way too handle the situation Postalpeg, but I would have several employees fill out Form 1767(form number for reporting safety hazard). We had to do this to get a intoxicated employee removed from our work area.He was endangering himself and people around him.The same can be said of someone with no sanitation or hygienne about them. The union balked a bit at first, but we were seven members and the offending pary (wouldn't you know it) was a non member who asked to see a steward every day.

JAMNA, to answer your question, read this from the ELM 666.2
Behavior and Personal Habits Employees are expected to conduct themselves during and outside of working hours in a manner which reflects favorably upon the Postal Service. Although it is not the policy of the Postal Service to interfere with the private lives of employees, it does require that postal personnel be honest, reliable, trustworthy, courteous, and of good character and reputation. Employees are expected to maintain satisfactory personal habits so as not to be obnoxious or offensive to other persons or to create unpleasant working conditions.
Emphasis on the last sentence. Most people would deem you "habit" as obnoxious and unpleasant, Don't spit, swallow!

I called HR Shared Services today about the VERA for Carriers. They said it should be offered after the Sept. 30th deadline for the Clerk's VERA.
That way they don't become overwhelmed by too many applications.
This helps solve my situation. Now I can put in for the VERA as a Carrier, while I wait the many months it takes OPM to approve my disability retirement. All the while working as an SSA/Window Clerk. Strange days indeed.

JAMNA, There are numerous references in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR's) that prohibit "spitting" on federal property. Most Federal Agencies also have their own "code of conduct" as well and I think the all list no "spitting". But I have never seen anything that doesnt allow you to carry tobacco products.

It is easy to see what the USPS has in mind.Leave, take an RIF,or get layed off. Also, the less old timers, the less union members.

Today's Vera news: The Postal Service has received additional approval from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to offer voluntary early retirement to all eligible employees in Motor Vehicle, Maintenance (excluding Electronic Technicians), Rural and City Carriers, Field EAS and Postmasters. This offer is open to employees in those positions who meet the OPM conditions, and who are at least 50 years of age with 20 years of creditable federal service or any age with 25 years of creditable federal service.
