MKIA can't even recognize her own words because I quoted her VERBATIM. Nice backpedaled,as always! MKIA forgets that custodians and MMs,MPEs,ETs are in Maintenance craft.

As usual Mr. Muslim always adds words and twists things--but I do like the MKIA -it's such a nice touch! Anyone with brains knows that I was talking about a universal work force according to the craft they are in. No shapeups, no job picking for the day within your craft--they tell you where to go and where your gonna work that given day, all within the duties of your craft whether it be mailhandler craft jobs, clerk craft jobs, custodial craft jobs, technician craft jobs, etc. But Mr. Muslim, perhaps you should clean a few toliets it may humble you.

Thanks for the attachment postalvet!I guess management does have the right to post sales/distribution on a bid assignmennt even though the clerk throws flats and is box mail clerk.

MKIA:But their goal is to have universal employees in all crafts so they can put them where they please each day.
This is great news!I'm an MPE and I should know how to cleanse a john, and the custodians can do the DBCS's feeder alignments.
The Boss: Hey! You,mail volume is slow, why don't you go to the window to relieve MKIA so she can go to break
Hillarious is an understatement!

They changed all the distribution clerks to mail processing clerks approximately 5 years back, but as usual the P.O. didn't think it thru well enough and it caused a glitch with the window clerks, the P.O. also call them mail processing clerks, but because they have special training they ended up now calling the window clerks Distribution Window & Mark Up Clerks (at least on the bid sheets). The keying clerks still keep their original titles ie: Flat Sorting Machine Operator are FSM Keying clerks. Our facility has only the FSM 1000's left for keying positions, but other facilities still have the lipps, and the spbs's thus they keep their old titles as well.
Changing the distribution clerks to Mail Processing clerks the P.O. was attemting to make us clerks all universal so they could use us wherever they wanted, but so far that hasn't happened as they planned because many clerks still have scheme training and management prefers to have experienced people in certain jobs versus using any general clerk. Many of the mail processing clerk jobs now have duties added to their job descriptions which makes it so they can use them either in automation or when needed on their duty assignment as well.
This change of title name was also so they can use the manual people in automation as fill in's when needed ie: prime time vacations and the like. They realized their "error" after the name change that it's next to impossible to send someone from the plant from automation to a station with absolutely no training and visa versa because it's non productive to do so. But their goal is to have universal employees in all crafts so they can put them where they please each day.

Hey thanks proud postal slug! Can you clarify for me if the position sale and services/distribution still exist or is that position also considered mail processing.Let me explain were I am going with this in our office a level 21 we have clerks still considered as sales/distribution clerks. These clerks are scheme throwing clerks for the principle assignment area of flats and parcels.if needed they will be placed on the window to provide financial transactions. From my understanding mail processing clerks do not work the window in that capacity.
