we are going from 10 routes to 9. We are being told that we're losing a T6 position as a result. The problem is one of the routes on that T6's(position currently covered under a hold down) string is largely a business route. This means that there will not be a T6 position for this route and it will be pivoted on that carriers day off. By switching the business route with another route that will still have a T6 the business route wouldn't have to be pivoted and businesses would continue to receive their mail at app. the same time. If they switched the 2 routes that had the same day off then the only person affected would be the T6 as he would have to learn a new route on his string.

i have talked to other ptf's. Some offices are piviting out routes that would be held down. They say that regulars need 8 hours of work. Ptf's are fucked for years.

why because......
since the route's ns day is saturday then because of the holiday - should the ptf on the hold down get friday off also? and if the pft is scheduled to work on fri should it not be overtime as it would be if the regular worked it.

guam ptf /m2479 -- if the route's N/S day is Saturday, then Friday is the "designated holiday", and if the regular worked on Friday, it would not be overtime. A PTF on that holddown is not entitled to be off on Friday. A PTF on a holddown is entitled to the schedule of the route, but that entitlement does not extend to being off on the N/S days.

Friday is a differant week, If you worked 40 hours and then worked friday, then yes friday would be overtime. No ptf gets to overtime status until friday,if working 8 hr. days.

2 wks. prior to any Quarter employees can sign up for OT, My Question is --can an employee on AL call the supervisor and have them sign the employees name e.g. Supervisor puts employees name on Ot list on 7-1-09 after our tour started at 7:45-should that be allowed or grieve it??

In our local it states if an emploee is unavailable to sign up for the ODL (ex vacation etc.) upon returning the fist day back they can submit in writing to have thier name added to the list.

Packmule /m2486 -- you local is in conflict with the national and arb awards and is therefore unenforceable.

Nope made before the mou in 2003 2004 of local negotiated items thus therefore grandfathered.

Packmule /m2488 -- the rules for signing the OTDL are a lot older than 2003-04 and have not changed. And there is no such thing as "grandfathered" if your LMU is in conflict with the National.
