our TEs case mail, too. What they don't do is case mail correctly, check moves, hold vacation mail, redeliver vacation mail, deliver non-confirmation parcels, get gas, throw out their garbage, know what the throwback case is, etc. I'd rather have casuals; they knew they were on thin ice every day so at least they tried. The TEs are a little too full of themselves.

That's a local policy. Our TEs start anywhere from regular start time to 10 or 11 am. They can do just about anything a regular carrier can do except bid holddowns. There is no national policy regarding start times or casing mail for TEs.

Scott /m1654 -- TE's are not supposed to case Why not? There is nothing in the contract that says they can't.

We hired a TE and sent him to all that training and the carrier academy then found out TE's are not supposed to case. If they are to carry wonder who will case?

Tony /1651 Most of the guys we've hired from the new test are in the mid eighties, so you are in a good place with your score. The old test was easier to score (no personality questions) and if you didn't score in the high 90's you had to wait a long time, if ever, to get an interview. I took a commercial prep course and studied for about six weeks, flash cards, etc. Got 98, plus my 5 veteran points, gave me a score of 103. I took the exam in June and got called in October and the Feb for interviews, getting hired that second interview. The focus now is on hiring TEs, not career employees.

I can't really tell you. It is a different test than the one I took in the mid 80's when Regan had the economy so great. (dripping with sarcasm) I had a 96% and I got on after 4 years. 1 week before they regave the test and my test score became invalid.

Hello all I started taking postal exams last year in which I took three and my highest score was a 80.20 out of it kinda disappointed. Although this year I had a new study/test taking approach and took four exams one in Bellevue,Wa in which I got a 81.60 and today I got my second in the mail Eureka 83.50 which also qualifies for Fortuna and Crescent City in which I am very happy about and hopefully an application out of that one. And I am still waiting on San Luis Obispo which has been a little over 8 weeks now and Portland,Or. Any idea how good a 83.50 actually is?

I have hot case, leave for street, return from street, and had 12 on the street also. I guess that is why I went down to 9 on the street when the steward had my route. Thanks for the info.

be working all available straight time hours. If PTFs are not getting 40, then non-OTDL carriers should not be carrying OT.

Are PTFs all working 40 hours? Do you have any TEs in your office? If you have TEs working, then all PTFs MUST

Does mgt have to try to bring in unscheduled ptf's to carry overtime for carriers not on the otdl? Our mgt doesn't schedule ptf's many days and mandates carriers to work ot.
