I apologize to the league for letting LaRoche fall all the way to Barely Legal. I had computer issues and then a dead cell phone. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was tanking it......

Who's kidding who, I need everything. Pitching looks good one day, then sucks the next. Hitters have been awful, at least 4 or 5 guys sit the bench everyday. Another week or two I might be ready to trade away my team. Sizemore, Buehrle, Polanco, Ordonez, LaRoche, Fuentes, or anyone. 3 for 1, what ever it takes to add a keeper for next year....

Scott,

You got your answer... the Yankees respond to the flurry of Red Sox moves with... wait for it..... wait for it... Jerry Hairston Jr!

Lee - I believe the incomparable Mr. Cashman is operating on the old adage: "If it aint broke, don't fix it".

Theo's trading activity clearly invokes another classic aphorism: "We're so fucked".

Are the rumors true Joe? May we really have a Brian Matusz sighting in Baltimore next week?

Damn it Lee! I was planning a BIG announcement. Lots of pageantry. Pomp and circumstance abound. I was going to make a live web-cam announcement to the league resplendent in a leopard skin thong with Matusz' jersey number painted on my ass cheeks. I even had my nipples pierced just for the occasion.

Now you've ruined it. How could you?! You know I'm the world's biggest "Mat"iac. Now instead of my titillating lingerie-regaled announcement the whole league has been cheated by you letting the cat out of the bag. We all lose. Sorry guys. I even had a Michael Jackson tribute choreographed as a grand finale. I wrote Matusz-praising lyrics to be sung to the tune of Billy Jean - "Brian Matusz, he's my lover but the Birds are not my team...hooo!"

You haven't seen anything until you've seen me moon-walk in a lacey, little G-string that weighs about the same as a Kleenex tissue.

Now you never will. Thanks a lot Lee.

With the recent complaints of C players being traded by teams at the bottom of the standings to those still in the running, another thought would be to possibly look at some sort of compensation for teams that hang on to a player through a C or Z contract. I probably would not be in favor of something like this, but it is another option similar to how MLB works today (i.e. Jays will get two first round draft picks at the end of the first round if Halladay leaves when a free agent)

Personally, I think the benefits gained by encouraging teams at the bottom of the standings with those on the top make the league more exciting, and keep people further involved even once their team is out of the running.

Interesting thoughts Lee, but aren't we really talking about one team making multiple complaints? It's very simple folks: if you truly feel a trade is not in the best interests of the league, file a protest with our Comissioner. If one person has a problem with a deal, it's reasonable for Marcel to conclude that the other 7 do not. And as we keep saying over and over, not everyone is going to like every trade. Let's move on, shall we?

Any interest in the following: Crede, Cust, Peralta, Papi? Looking for pitching for 2010.

Damn Joe, I almost didn't even put in a waiver claim for Matusz because I was so sure you would grab him.

Regarding the Papi accusations: his decline is not due to his discontinuing PEDs. It is due to his ample belly and arthritic wrists. If Papi said he didn't keep track of what he consumed, who could doubt him after getting a look at his (lack of) physique? That boy would eat donuts out of a dumpster.

Ok, so here's some potential headlines announcing Adrian Beltre's injury:
   "Beltre Sacked by Grounder"
   "All Balls, no Brains"
   "Aw, Nuts"
   "Family Jewels Stolen by Baseball"
"Beltre to God: Knock It Off"

ESPN may even initiate a new Baseball Tonight segment: Webjewels.

I bet Beltre's uniform trousers have 'No Pepper' stenciled across the groin from now on.
