Nite-Owl: The top picture is taken from the Fire Company lot. It is the back of the old Patterson property which has been grown up for a long time. You can even see buildings there now. The other picture is the old Patterson Alley now the Sell's Alley. Made for a shorter name on the sign.

cynic... There are a few people in my neighborhood who I wouldn't want to see; especially if they happen to be walking around in undergarments! Now, there is this one guy up the street...j/k I better stop there or I'll become Princess_Perv! Another guy up the street happens to have a telescope and he just happens to be divorced and is "looking for female companionship," according to his myspace... Hmmmm... Now I'll have to wonder if he's really looking at the stars??? I would love to do a little channel surfing for the people across the street. They always seem to be quite interested in what is going on at my house, so maybe that would divert their attention!
I can't believe that Boogie wants the world to know he has genital warts, owlie... He'll do anything to make himself famous... Sounds like Doc Will may have given himself too much botulism! lol I bet his eyebrows looked like an up-side-down V! He was more handsome before all the plastic!

Princess
He had his hair slicked back & looked a little greasy. He also couldn't frown or smille too much. Not one of his finest moments. Said he brought his buddy Boogie in on the program to treat his genital warts. Now THERE'S a friend! LOL He also said that he gets more requests for that treatment than any other, followed closely by tatoo removal.Said one girl came in 4 times to have 4 different guys names removed from her butt. Chelsey told him that when he removed the last one he should have just put one BIG one on that said "DUMB A--".

Princess - Peeping into your neighbors' houses with binoculars does not constitute the definition of "neighborhood watch."
Telescopes won't work either - you'll get a headache from the upside-down image.
Having a nearby neighbor with a remore - controlled TV can be really amusing; buy a cheap universal remote at Lowes for about $5. Program it for the neighbor's TV brand and then on an especially dark night (better range for the IR light in the remote) change their channels every 5 minutes or so.
I've read that if you program one of those cheap universal remotes to "channel" 911 and then aim it at a red light and "change channels to 911," it will turn the light from red to green. Never tried it, but the source where I read it is reliable. That was just for information only - its probably not a good idea to try it in person.

How did he look, owlie? With all that botox and restylane, I'm sure he was looking either hot, or like a wax statue. Add a little Juvederm and Radiesse and you've got the vainest doctor in Hollywood!
I have already started a neighborhood watch of my own... I sit on my porch at night sometimes looking for anything suspicious... I'm just waiting for someone to try to open my car so I can hit the panic button... I sit in the dark watching...lurking...waiting... My youngest daughter doesn't feel safe anymore in her own neighborhood... How sad... I like major mom's idea for a senior project... Maybe someone will end up doing that if they happen to read this board. Littlestown Dad had a good idea too!

The question I have is why haven't the people in Mayer's Summit been notified about this? I suppose the Police Dept couldn't be bothered with running a few copies off and dropping them in mailboxes or something like that?
How about some fathers drive around with baseball bats?

Hey folks! I want you all to know that there was an attempted abduction yesterday about 4:30. A teenage girl jogging around the neighborhood over in Mayers Summit just outside of town was followed by a guy in a brown car. He told her she was pretty and tried to get her to get in. She took off running across a vacant lot and hid in the woods watching him look for her. When he finally drove off, she ran home and her folks called the police. I believe there is a possibility he was over near Kennie's yesterday earlier because I noticed a car fitting the description. I noticed him because he was driving slowly AND stopped at a stop sign people run all the time. Then, I noticed the same car later in the day coming out of Lakeview. Could be a co-incidence but the attempt on the girl was not! If this stuff isn't resolved soon its going to be time for neighborhood watches and perhaps it would be a good idea to have the Senior High kids stationed throughout the town as watch dogs for the younger kids and the girls. Might be a senior project that would actually do the town some good. Watch your kids, there have been males and females solicited.

sketch - Hmm ... how terms change over the years. Being a former "skateboard rat", I used to "catch a bumper" or "skate skitch" from time to time and found it to be a good way to get around. The "Back to the Future" scene where Marty gets towed around the town square in a similar manner brought that out to the mass population on an impressionable media. I stopped using my skateboard when I got my inline skates in college and used to "skitch" on the back bumper of the campus security car to get to class or to get over to the girlfriends dorm. It took them until my Senior year to catch on.
During the winter growing up, we used leave the skateboards at home and "Skitch" on the back of bumpers when there was enough snow on the roads of neighborhoods. We also would play a game called King of the Bumper" You try to kick a guy off the bumper to make him let go and the last one on the Bumper would be the King of the evening. Those usually took place when we got a designated driver to pull us around. During college, me and another guy from Delaware introduced a guy from Florida to the art of "Skitching" on the cars during a snow storm in North Carolina.
Not something I would want to teach anyone ever again or profess as something to do when you are bored. It was fun to do. Being "young and dumb" never gave the consideration of how high the risk of decapitation was for doing a stupid stunt like that. Especially when you hit manhole covers. Got a few "strawberry rashes" that way in my time. I have the scars to prove it too.
These days, I use my inline skates to play roller hockey and that is about it.
And one time at band camp ... ;)

Leko: Being with the kids and the other band parents, keeps me young! It gives me an opportunity to use my wood working skills for the props. along with driving the trailer. And,I learn new meaning to some common words as "sketch". That means to "hitch a ride" with a car on the street with a skate board. I had a experience with a skate board but, that's another story. OUCH!
