Happy Turkey Day. Let the Tryptophan debilitate one on the Lazy Boy for a restful sleep during the second half of the football game. :)

Sheesh! What a day already - took 3 tries to get my password right.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving - you only get one chance a year at it, so make it a good one this year.

Mar - .22's are good for taget practice - no recoil, ammo is cheap, and very little noise, plus they're fun to shoot. Federal makes a nice hollow point in .22 calibre that will do the job.

More people are killed with .22's each year than any other calibre handgun. Remember, its small mass at a high muzzle velocity and a large mass at a slow muzzle velocity that does the job. If the "big" bullets were so great, the US wouldn't have gone from the Nato 7.62 M14 round to the .223 (5.56) M16 round. "Spray and pray," remember?

Takin' up for ya, L'towm Dad. Enjoy your .22, just remember to get your permit. Use the .22 for practice, but for defense carry, take nothing smaller than a .380 auto with you - Walther PPKS is a nice pocket gun.

Cynic:
I had one in my younger days went with my brother to practice in Md. to shoot but then had to get permit so I traded it for a Mossberg .22 carbine style rifle still have it in WV. I use it for groundhogs lots of fun.

Oh, they had 9 mm's, but I was on a strict budget for starters. I took my brother-in-law, who has an aresenal. He knew what we were looking at. It's good for starting the collection. Of course, he bought bullets for hunting that were almost as big as the gun I bought!

Does anyone know if the tree lighting will still be happening tonight? If so, what time is it scheduled for?

Mar - I have one of the scanner's they're talking about. I bought it 3 years ago to scan the many carosels of slides I had into my computer. We then made DVD's of them and they were played at a family member's wedding. My scanner is a Cannon 4200 and I bought it at Staples for $99. Its is also a flat scanner and I can do copies if I need them. If you have a bunch of the slides, invest in one.n You'll be glad you have it.

Thanks everybody for the info on the scanner. I had checked Staples on line and seen they have 2 different ones for $99. the one had good reports on it. I think that would be the way to go. My monitor is loosing color so I invested in a new LCD. I have to be able to see what is going on. HA! HA!
