of all the great soul groups of the past, the Dramatics are at the top of the list for me, along w/ the Temps and Blue Magic. i never really realized how truly talented this group was/is. like the Temps, all of them could sing lead which was very unique. God bless Lenny and Ron, my 2 faves of the group. loved Ron's voice, and realized what a great entertainer Lenny was. keep it going, LJ and Michael peace!

I listen to The Dramatics songs all the time. To watch Lenny sing with that unforgettable smile will never be forgotten. Heavens choir just added Ron Banks to it. You guys are missed greatly but we hold you in our hearts today and always.

Hello....losing all the Doo Wop Performers has been hard to take! Thank goodness for P.B.S., recalling their 'glory days'.....and T. J. Lubinsky. A great asset to remarkable music, that WILL live-on forever!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to all the singers who have left us. Ron Banks, Robert Lester, Lenny Mays,and so many more. It is saddening to find out that both Ron Banks and Lenny Mayes are gone! Just found out that Lenny passed in 2004. Lenny definitely looked like he really enjoyed his craft with that WONDERFUL SMILE and he was very smooth. His singing was EXTRAORDINARY. THE CLASSIC TEMPTATIONS have been my favorite group since childhood but the Dramatics are a favorite group as well and they certainly could hold their own,

I was just looking at the dramatics perform, on youtube several weeks before Ron Banks passed. For some reason Ron Banks came on my mind and I Googled the Dramatics. I even listened to Ron's solo music and it was smashing.

Thank you God for Blessing these young men with Outstanding Talent and respect for us fans.
Ron and Lenny will be truly missed. Condolence to their family L.J. Reynolds and the rest of the group take good care of yourselves mates!!!

Lenny, we are all sad right now because Ronald Dean is gone.

i didnt know that lenny mayes had passed until i heard about the passing of ron banks. i became familiar with the dramatics music because of my sister who is 14 years my senior. as an adult i bought used albums of the dramatics music and attended their concerts at chicagos star plaza theatre. one of the times o saw the dramatics was on lenny mayes' 40th birthday.i am currently 38 years old and i cant function wothout my classic soul. god bless lenny mayes ron banks and the rest of the dramatic.

The Dramatics were one of the top groups in the world,the closest thing to the Temptations I've ever seen, and both dance and sound.Lenny Mayes amazed me because, sometimes I couldn't tell if it was Lenny singing or LJ or Ron Banks.The only other group that had this facination, was the early Temp's with Paul and David sounding alike,David and Eddie souding alike and Eddie and Otis sounding alike singing backround.As you can tell I loved both groups but the Dramatics were the only group that could give the Temp's a run for their money.

I have always loved The Dramatics. I have all of their records from back in the day. I heard them, but never "met" Lenny until I recently discovered them on YouTube and finally had a chance to see them perform the cuts on my records that I had listened too, danced to, romanced to and now I finally got to see Lenny and his smile and friendly face. I love listening to them and seeing him singing lead with LJ on I'm Not Going By The Stars. You can tell how much Lenny enjoyed performing. It shows in his face and his smile. Such a talented guy and such a dramatic group. They don't make music like that anymore...RIP Lenny!!

Lenny your beautiful smile was amazing-you were the personality of the Dramatics and I must say that I spent many hours seeing you live and listening to your music-and they were some of the best moments of my life. Thank you for giving your beautiful self to music. I miss you
