Residential Management Association of Hawaii (RMA Hawaii) www.rmahi.org is a statewide organization focus on the Residential/Rental Industry. There is a big Ohana of Managers, Maintenance, AOAO Properties and AOAO owners in the State of Hawaii, there is also a Service/Product Industry throughout the state. Some only servicing one Island or all the Islands. The one thing both the Residential/Rental Industry and the Service/Product Industry lack is a NETWORK. RMA Hawaii is a non-profit organization to bring Educational and Informational programs to the Residential/Rental Industry but, it can not be done without the support of the Service/Product Industry. RMA Hawaii wants to see all the Islands AOAO's pulling together and networking. We encourage all Service/Product Companies big and small on all the Islands to join RMA Hawaii to become a Associate Member and be apart of the big OHANA of the Residential/Renter Industry. We are seeking a Associate Member from each the Islands Hawaii, Maui and Kauai to be on the Board along with Resident Managers/AOAO Owners. Christopher M. Novak, President and Founder. email me with your questions at chris.novak@rmahi.org, RMA Hawaii's website is www.rmahi.org | | |

Does anyone have any knowledge about the common element such as walkways in regard to the lights, is there a requirement as to the wattage of the bulb should be. Has anyone made the switch to cfl bulbs, what are your opinions on this.

today's date is July 18, 2008 we just had our MRMA meeting yesterday, our MRMA meetings are now held at the Sam Snead Golf Course along the Nimitz HWY. We are no longer having our meetings at the Waikiki Yacht Club. I urge all Resident Manager's and Site Manager's to get involve with MRMA. This is one place for all of us Managers to give and get info. Get the vendors on your property to get involve, becoming a sponsor which they will be able to reach out to over 100+ managers on the Island of Oahu. It is very important in todays market to be well informed and well rounded in what we do as managers. The Market is ever changing with new laws and codes. So contact MRMA's Dottie Collins and get your property and yourself signed up with MRMA.

There was a trade show last Tuesday, Pacific Building Trades Expo at the Convention Center. The information was sent out on the Purchasing Hui email network. If your building is not a member of the Purchasing Hui, look at www.purchasinghui.com and the information is there. Also, IREM/ARM had a vendor blendor at the Japanese Cultural center. Your PM should be giving you information about the IREM/ARM meetings. You can check www.iremhawaii.com for upcoming meetings. Coming to any meeting will give you the information about upcoming meetings. I recommend MRMA, which is the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Waikiki Yacht CLub. Check out www.mrma.org for the info. Networking is the key. Aloha

Aloha The MRMA meeting is today at the Waikiki Yacht Club starting t 11:30. The yacht club is at the end of Ala Moana Park, you turn in just before the bridge over the canal. It does not have a large sign and almost looks like part of the maintenance buildings for the park. You can also check www.MRMA.org. It has all the info. As far as the Accredited Resident Manager course, check www.irem.com. The next class will be in the fall. Another web site, www.caihawaii.com for some seminars. The next one is May 19 on Employment Law. Your PM should be giving you the brochures. It is worth your while to attend and the fees can be paid from petty cash. Good luck!

Patience and Fortitude sir. Do not allow yourself to get caught up in gossip. Your Board should allow you the time to get certified and perhaps pay your tuition. Good Luck!!!
