LARRYFEST IS LOOKING FOR ARTISTS/DESIGNERS
We would like to encourage artists to submit drawings or designs to be utilized on LarryFest apparel (t-shirts). One design will be selected and printed on Larryfest t-shirts with the artist's permission.
The LarryFest (KVAMA) organization will be searching for designs that focus on the theme of the music festival. The primary focus should include the name of the festival (LarryFest) and a theme with a musical focus (instruments of the bluegrass/folk genre or other ideas that relate to our rural location and history).
The artist will receive two tickets to the festival ($70.00 value) and their art work will be displayed at the LarryFest. All entries should be post marked by June 28, 2006. Please do not send original drawings because we will be unable to return them to you. If your design is selected we will contact you directly to obtain permission to use your work.

La Farge The first wave of bands for the 9th annual Larryfest blue grass festival has been announced and tickets are available for the Aug. 18-19 event.
This years Larryfest will feature String Ties, Combine, Special Consensus, Crossfire with Clay Hess, The In-Laws, Chris Silver Band, Molly Sternke, Heartsfield and RPM. More groups were expected to be announced in coming weeks.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. They are available via FAX or mail ordere for that can be downloaded from www.kvama.org and through several Kickapoo Valley area outlets.
Larryfest benefits the Kickapoo Valley Acoustic Music Association (KVAMA), which gives scholarships and holds an annual songwriters contest.
Concert organizers encourage artists/songwriters to submit their work to the Kickapoo Valley Acoustic Music Association songwriter contest. Cash scholarships, instruments and gear are awarded from various sponsors, such as Dave's Guitar in La Crosse, String Swing, and others.
The contest is open to all ages and genres of music so all are welcome. The deadline for entry is just a few weeks away. More information can be obtained at www.kvama.org.
Larryfest is held on a 60-acre parcel of land off 24 Valley Road, just off the Kickapoo Valley Reserve in Vernon County.
The man whose name is on the festival Larry Sebranek is not really a household word or a performer, but he and his brothers have organized the fest.

Larryfest press release Aug. 14
Molly Sternke is scheduled to kick off the ninth annual Larryfest bluegrass festival this coming weekend near La Farge.
Music is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and run until midnight. It will start again at noon on Saturday and run again until midnight.
On Friday, Combine is scheduled for the 9:30 p.m. slot, with Clay Hess and Crossfire ending the night, starting at 10:45 p.m. The In-Laws kick off Saturdays schedule at noon. The festival will wrap up with Heartsfield at 8:30 p.m. and Special Consensus at 10:30 p.m.
Other bands include Tar Heels, Foghorn Duo, RPM, Chris Silver Band, Mike & Amy Finders Band and String Ties. The full schedule can be seen at kvama.org.
Carry-ins and beverages are allowed at the festival. Food and beverages also are sold on the grounds. No alcohol is sold on the premises.
Camping is free on the maple syrup farm where the festival is held. Spaces are limited, however, for RVs and trailer campers. Merchandise, including CDs of the performers, will be sold on the grounds.
Free shuttles will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Additional information on the festival and location is available at kvama.org.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the gate. Tickets will be available until mid-week at Peoples Food Coop, The Helm and Daves Guitar in La Crosse, DiSciascios in Coon Valley, Viroqua Food Coop, Leo and Leonas in Newburg Corners, Pecks in Cashton, Westby Pharmacy, Nuzums in La Farge and Kickapoo Valley Ranch near the festival grounds.

Two nationally known bluegrass groups will hold concerts at Loons On La Crosse in December. The Wilders will play there at 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2. Heartsfield will play on Friday, Dec. 8. Both groups are known in the Kickapoo Valley area for playing at Larryfest and are likely to make the 10th anniversary festival in 2007.
