Welcome to the Vittles & Voices Discussion Board! This is a gathering place for cooks, recipe collectors, and those who love them, to share stories and information having to do with food, cooking, and recipes (and more!), and is a companion to our web site, Vittles & Voices, where you can search, browse, or submit recipes or other useful and interesting information. (Also see our other QT Board - a place to post recipes that you want to be able to share immediately without waiting for it to be added to the Vittles & Voices web site. Anyone who would like to subscribe to that topic can do so as well.)

We had a nice surprise on New Year's Day. Our one and only boy who was in CA for Christmas, came over and brought us new camera cell phones from Verizon the company he is with. And added us to his account. So our monthly bill will be less. What a guy!!!

We had such fun last night trying to learn how to work them. It is pretty amazing how many things they can do.

I made my "infamous ham and cabbage" and we had homemade pumpkin cream pie. I made the pie and really don't care for it. But the guys loved it. To each his own. Wonder if they will ask me to make it again? That's the true test, you know.

Sorry to go on and on. Must be in a chatty mood. lol patsAZ

Lillian, thanks for your response. Love the carrots and can hardly wait to try them. Don't you also have a daughter in Crystal River?

Hi Leslie!

The website is looking great. You are now established on my "favorite list" and I'll be looking forward to all the progress.

My husband is having rotator cuff surgery this coming Friday so I'll be extra busy taking care of him for the next six weeks, but I'll be checking in as much as possible.

So grateful to you for establishing the website. Am impressed with your talent. Your Mom and Dad are so fortunate to have such a gifted daughter.

Donna,

Leslie is making me blush! We are truly blessed with our children and we treasure them.

I will keep your husband in my prayers. He is in good hands and all will be well, especially with your TLC.

A few years back, I had a frozen shoulder and the doctor wasn't sure if it was a frozen shoulder or a torn rotator cuff. I was fortunate, but scared to death when I went in for the physical therapy for it and they told me that, if the PT didn't work, I'd have to go into the hospital and the doctor would break it loose. Boy! I worked hard at that PT to prevent the alterntive!

Isn't that web site wonderful? I'm so proud of Leslie and she is having a blast with this. She is all self taught with this and she amazes me by her skills. She is so patient in teaching me at work and she has me doing things that I would have believed possible for me. Talk about "computer dummies"! Well, that is me!

Pats,

Yes, our oldest daughter lives in Crystal River. She has the bridal shop and she is the one with the three children, two step-children. We manage to see her about every two weeks, more often if there is a wedding that she is decorating for. She is another bright, compassionate, loving girl. Aren't we blessed?

Thanks to both of you for joining us here. I feel very sad at losing touch with all of our QT friends. I worry about so many of them. So many have such health problems and so many are virtually house-bound. They looked forward to the friendships and the great world of "talking" to others that Qt offered. Maybe they will find us here and be able to continue with friendships. I hope so.

Take care and come back soon.

Leslie, I'm not sure about the web designing but I will certainly ask Liam the question when I'm talking to him. This new venture is so exciting I'm pleased to be a part of it.
I've just spent the past 4 hours walking round the rocks at the local beaches with my son who is over from Sydney, Australia for the holidays. We had such a wonderful time and I have collected shells just like I used to when I was a youngster.
Have a great day.

Lillian the most important thing you can do for yourself, as you know, are your exercises. I rather like the in-bed ones. Seems to start any day off right.
