Meeting chaired by Karen

Java Jam A-Palooza- June 27 (Jamestown Town Square)
• Schedule:
o Art Set Up: Friday, June 26, 4 pm
o Sound Workshop: Saturday, June 27, 1 pm (until the end of the event)
o Decorating/Set Up: 2 pm
o Art Show: 4 pm or earlier (in Town Hall)
o Dance/Performing Art Entries: 5-6:30 pm
o Music: 6:30-10 (Acts booked: Nancy F., Bill B., Michael B., Tom & Laura W., Stellar J, Swamp Kreatures), with Poetry Entries in between
o Clean-up: 10 pm—everyone stays to help!
• Other notes:
o Richard is running and sound workshop and sound; trainees are encouraged to stay the whole time and help run sound/breakdown
o Art show: Do we have an “Art Show” poster to put up on the Town Hall door? We need easels (Michael offered to bring one), we can also hang poems since there aren’t many visual art entries, we could have live music or a boom box for music during the art show to draw people in
o Prizes in the different categories will be $50 each, we can give canvas bags/shirts from the event for runners up
o Judges will be paid $50/each
o Beth B. and JaVayne are heading up the coffee/desserts this year (Sally will help call for desserts)
o We need at least 4 pop ups, and that doesn’t include the stage—it would be nice to have something big for the stage
o We need to call Tami to use her electricity
o Merchandise: We agreed to buy $500 worth of bags/women’s shirts/regular shirts/hoodies (white shirts, possibly sage hoodies with just the JAM logo), we also discussed pricing (each will have a $4-7 mark up depending on the item and how many sides are printed)

Town Hall Update:
• 2nd grant fell through
• They are taking bids, but work probably won’t start for a while

Quilts
• Still undetermined whether we will lend them to the Nederland Mining Museum or the Nederland Community Center
• We agreed to do nothing until they have to come down, and we feel that Elizabeth should be the one to head this up if she is still interested in it

Gear
• All of the gear has been fixed and inventoried
• Rick has the gear at his house and will oversee the signup sheet and people using it

Art & Garden Walk
• Tentatively set for Friday, August 21st, 4-7 pm or 5-8 pm
• We encourage Jamestown artists to share their studio space with Bar-K artists
• We need to create fabric signage or flags/map for the event

Meeting Attendees:
Karen, Sally, Julie, Nancy, Michael, Kael, Anne K., Tom, Elise, Glenn, Kristi, Deborah, Anne G.

Quick addition to meeting notes: I believe I agreed to emcee the Java-JAM-a-Palooza show - would be happy to share the stage with anyone who would like to take part of that job if someone wants to do any special introductions or anything.

I'm leaving town for Telluride on Tuesday, and won't be back till the following Tuesday. Any info on the stuff I'll be announcing would be much appreciated (i.e. names of band members, dancers, facts about the art show, etc, etc, etc.) You can post it here or email me at nancyfarmer57@hotmail.com. Thanks!

In past years we have sold JAM "stuff" at the desert table such as shirts and cups particularly last year. Usually, the north end table. There is never a shortage of folks attending to the table. We just have used a different "cash" box or separate the funds for info purposes...

Great, Sally, I'll just assume T-shirt sales will be takend care of. Now I just need a couple of volunteers to help with art!

And Kael, I guess we need two cash boxes and a bit more change?
Thanks everone!

Hi all,
Just a reminder that I will be holding sound workshop as we set up for Java Jam at 2PM Saturday 27th June. Anyone interested in learning a bit and helping with set up be at the town hall. We need bodies to get things to the town square and we need to get more people on board that know our sound system. I would really appreciate help from band members and musicians that will be playing at the event to help with set up and tear down.

Richard, please no meeting that night. We need folks in the town square to address County Commissioners on a number of issues...Genetically modified crops that invade the organic ones in the County and I am sure a number of folks wish to hit the Commissioners to back that up with State Officials on the bicycle issue. Other issues...
