Dear Jammers,
Java Jam was REALLY fun. It was wonderful looking over the crowd and realizing so many of us have grown up together (and still are growing up together!). So many nice people - thanks for bringing us together. And it helped that it wasn't cold! So far so good on the mug.
love, Wendy

Java JAM was great last night - Julie and Kristi really did a great job organizing it! Big bucks, too - woohoo! Sorry not to have been much help, but I'll make it up to you on another event.

On a not-so-happy note, my mug is losing its lettering already. Is anyone else having that problem? It seems to be peeling off, and I haven't even washed it - it's just from carrying it around last night. If mine is not the only one, I think we need to let the folks we ordered them from know and ask for replacements. Aside from that, I really love the mug. Good job, Elizabeth!

Great night last night! The town square looked fab., the music was great, the coffee was flowing to the tune of about 90 cups, (did anyone sleep last night??), the baked goods were delicious, the mugs were a big hit and the bank box was overflowing. When all IOUs are collected the monetary take will be over $800. I do believe that is our best yet on Java JAM. Of course the cost of the mugs and a few other overhead items need to be deducted. Please give me a call if you have any outstanding receipts. All and all it was a great success. Thanks to Julie and Kristie for heading up the event and everyone else who set up, baked, cashiered, entertained, cleaned up, and to all who supported the evening with their presence and checkbooks.

Don't forget to come help with set up tomorrow at 3 pm! We need to move stage pieces, run extension cords, and set up sound. We also need to set up dessert and merchandise tables, and decorate!

We don't have a stage tent b/c it was destroyed in the wind. But, the weather forecast looks like all sun for tomorrow!

It looks like there is a last-minute music lineup change, which I will post shortly.

The Stellar J Jazz Quintet is performing live for your listening (and dancing) pleasure. Also featuring special guest vocalists, and of course whatever wonderful dinner creation the Merc is cooking up!

See you there,

Hi Jammers, I posted the following message on the general QTs yesterday. Don't foget we're setting up stage/sound/dessert & merchandise areas at 3 pm! If you volunteered to bring something, i.e. easy-up tent, decorations, desserts, mugs, etc., please don't forget it! Please see my previous post for who I had down for doing what according to our last meeting. Thanks, and see you Saturday! (P.S. The order of musicians listed below will be the order for the concert.)

See everybody THIS SATURDAY,JUNE 14th, @ 7pm for JAVA JAM!
In Town Square a.k.a. the little park by the creek--bring your own chairs and blankets (We'll move to Town Hall if it's raining)

Wonderful music by local artists, including Bill Brotherton, Sarah Farmer, Lynn Wilbur, Sammi Emmit, & Clash of the Dischords!

Java Jam goes GREEN: Bring some extra cash or a check to buy your very own stylish aluminum travel mug imprinted with the JAM logo. (If you don't intend to purchase a mug, we encourage you to bring your own mug from home to reduce waste.)

Hi Everyone!
As most of you know, in celebration of JAMESTOWN'S 125th ANNIVERSARY, JAM is putting on an OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT, showing ACROSS THE UNIVERSE on August 2nd. This event, which will bring a inflatable BIG screen to the lower park (pending construction), is a quite costly and so we need a little help from our community. Currently, I am pursuing sponsorship in the form of cash donations and donated items for a raffle. Sponsorship is a great way to advertise your company or services, and of course, support the arts in Jamestown!

Here is a quickie list of our cash donor levels. Please contact me if you'd like to support this event or if you have a donation for the raffle. And thanks so much! Karen A. (3.459.0154) or karenjamestownATearthlinkDOTnet.

Please make cash donation checks payable to JAM.
