Does anyone have a staple gun I can borrow so I can put up Movie Night posters (they look GREAT BTW)?

Also, Kael, I need $21.94 for copies of the poster. I have a receipt.

Thanks,
Karen

Summer Writing Workshop
Enchanting the Muse
Taught by Karen Auvinen,PhD
Saturday - July12th
9:30am – 5:00 pm

Day-long Workshop Focusing on Writing Practice, Technique & Creativity
Part of good writing practice is developing a relationship with your own creativity and learning its moods, its hungers, and its natural ebbs and flows. These workshops will allow you to spend a focused amount of time enchanting the muse by doing some sustained writing practices as well as scaffolded writing. We’ll also have plenty of time to share work, ask questions and experiment with forms.

In each workshop, we will practice techniques related to both poetry and stories (personal and fition). In addition to time for lots of writing, we’ll be going outside and using the environment to spur imagination, creativity, and stories and poems.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring layers for outdoor excursions. Please bring sack lunch. Tea & juice will be provided.

Workshops are $75-85 each, sliding scale.

PLEASE REGISTER BY CONTACTING Karen Auvinen

Dear Tom W., Glad to hear you're still interested and involved I look forward to seeing the plans when you get back. We ended up creating a preliminary design for the park with the folks who attended the June 24th meeting and Ken submitted that to Walsh Engineers (they are overseeing the soil cap project). I think we will want to get a date to present (and get feedback on) the preliminary design for the park, and perhaps the pavilion as well, but we don't have a date yet. Maybe we could do that as soon as the plan for the pavilion is ready (it would have to be before mid-August). We will need the specifics and cost for the pavilion when I write the GOCO grant which is due in the fall - I don't know exact date. (Kent Weeks also expressed an interest in being involved in the pavilion design.) By the way, if you or anyone has any questions about this project, please call me or Amy or Ken to discuss how questions or concerns can be answered.
Have a good vacation wherever you are!

Hi Wendy

I was kind of in charge of that idea, and would be glad to take it on again. Joe R. had drawn a rough idea of the design which I have at my house, and I have since thought of a couple of variations on the theme that will both save cost on materials, and make it more suited to the town and the spirit of the original pavillion.
I can make it to the next meeting held about this when we get back, and I'll collaborate with a couple of very talented design folks in town for furthering the ideas. We'll be back Thursday.

Tom

Hi all -
The park soil cap project is definitely moving forward in the prep and planning stage. In the very near future there will be some community meetings to go over the details.First one is to go over the logistics of the soil cap (see Amy's note on the QT). Then, we'll be inviting the community participation to talk about what will be included in the GOCO grant and where it might be positioned in the park. Part of what is needed is to reactivate the committee that was working on the pavilion design. It would be helpful to get the dimensions of the design (the footprint) to the soil group in order to know where we do NOTneed to put soil. The plans ideally would be drawn up before the end of the year. Is there anyone around who was working on that from JAM? I remember that Joe R, Mark M and Tom W were involved but Joe said he didn't have the plans and didn't know where they were. Mary Ellen didn't have them either; Tom is out of town for a couple of weeks. If anyone knows anything about this, will you call me? 303-449-7145. If there are no members from last summer who would be interested, are there any new members interested in helping to take this on? It could be included in the large GOCO grant that I'm going to help put together with Amy Gage.
Thanks mucho. Wendy
