Pocket K-Meleon 1.0 crashes if I attempt to run a second instance of it ! For example, I have Pocket K-Meleon running, then on another application I click "Go to Web Page" (or I type a web address in the Start->Run bar), and the request for a new K-Meleon window doesn't merge with the existing window as a new layer - instead it crashes my Windows Millennium ! This does not happen with the regularly installed K-Meleon 1.0, only with the pocket version.

Me again, I did some experimenting. The problem I described below can very easily be reproduced - like this: run the REGULAR K-Meleon.exe, let it open, then click on the same K-Meleon.exe & You will get just a new layer (if You chose the single window option); but do this same test on the POCKET K-Meleon.exe, and it will crash. So the bug seems to be in the pocket K-Meleon.exe, or in it's adjacent files.

@Edin Karcic: Thanks for your reports. This problem could be caused by a few issues, and I'll try and experiment myself when I get time, though I can't try it on Win ME, only 98SE, 2000 and XP. The only significant difference between Pocket and regular K-Meleon is the way the EXE, DLL and JAR files are compressed using UPX. Therefore this problem could also be in K-Meleon regular, but just happens to manifest differently in memory. The K-M Bugs Forum at http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/list.php?f=3 does have some posts which might overlap with your problem. Something like a memory leak or the layers plugin are always likely candidates! Are your Win ME DLLs up to date?

Thanks ! I also tried the Pocket K-Meleon 1.0.b5.k (SeaMonkey) and this particular version is problem free ! Odd ... All of my Win Me dll's are up-to-date, and all other K-Meleon versions (Pocket & Regular) are working fine. I am using PocketK-Meleon on a USB stick and think it's great. The ease with which you can configure different proxy setups is especially handy. Thanxxx.
I have run into the "can't find *.dll" problem often enough (even on XP machines!) that I just put the needed DLLs into K-Meleon's folder. Why not do this in the default PocketK-Meleon distribution? It's easy to do if you know how to do it, but it's scary if you don't.

Thanks for your comments and suggestion, Meter. I agree that the need for certain DLLs is a nuisance and can make it difficult for less technical users. Just to make it clearer, I will amend the information on http://kmeleon.uk.to regarding the placement of the DLLs. However, as I understand it, redistributing MS DLLs is not really permitted and I'd never want to be responsible for creating version conflicts with DLLs already installed on someone's system!

Hi, I'm relatively new to pocket k-meleon.
I can't seem to get the adblock plus working in pocket k-meleon but it seems to work fine in the regular version. Is this a known problem?

Pocket K-meleon-1.1: When I try to launch k-meleon.exe I get the following error(always): The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) in WindowsXp Sp2.
Has any one run it successfully?

Dear Kumar, Unfortunately, I have also experienced this problem. But please read this thread: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/read.php?1,72875As indicated on my webpage, I'm not directly supporting Pocket K-Meleon 1.1, so queries should now be addressed to Alain Aupeix in the K-Meleon forums. Hope this helps. Regards, Douglas
