I want to make a simple, web- and preferably SOAP- or HTTP RPC-accessible database to catalog some things. I want to be able to define a simple schema with the only relational elements being fields that have a defined list of possible values. I want to be able to search through that database.

Essentially, I want Google Base but with API access and security (so not everyone on the web can see the info).

I've been asked this question - anyone have any suggestions?

Would you be able to recommend a good newsfeed / RSS for the publishing industry. I have looked at PR Newswire but find it very American. I am looking for book reviews and new books that are being published. The Bookseller doesn’t appear to have any feeds of this nature. Ideally I would also like an RSS feed for top 100 list of books but Nielsen book data don’t seem to produce this as a feed either.

If anyone has any ideas, could they post it here?

I've been asked the following - anyone know an answer?

I have 2 x 20" and 2 x17" monitors but want software that can split, let's say one of my 20" monitors into 2 halves or 4 quarters.

i.e so i can see 2 (or 4) completes views on one monitor.

I guess a little bit like PIP but in my case there will be 4 perfect quarters filling the whole screen.

If you've any suggestions, let me know, and I'll pass the answer onto the individual who asked.
