egark is correct, when you transfer your seniority starts all over, doesnt matter if you are a carrier or a T6 carrier

Hey tired, when I made regular, it took about two weeks for my PS50 to be posted, but it was dated correctly. Make sure your pay is correct, and hopefully it is effective before the Holiday coming up. CONGRATS Edited 05-22-2013 01:39 PM

tired of all this- Thanks for reply. I asked my Postmaster on thurs and she said that she talked to regional and they said everything was good. All the paperwork was fine. Good to know that i'm not the only one to not recieve a form 50. It's just that until I do, I won't trust anything they say. Been with this company too long to start trusting anything they say now!!

Good point egark. I forgot to clarify I'm going to a large carrier annex that has 2 vacancies right now, and 2 that should be coming up in the near future. I'm the first one in, so I should be safe from any excessing from 5 day, with others to follow. On a side note, to transfer and have to learn 5 routes in a new town just wouldn't be worth it to get regular in my opinion. You'll probably get a better opportunity by the end of the contract.

21yearptf- My supervisor was given a choice of dates to make me regular. He said the 18th and called personnel to make sure it was happening. I am being treated as a regular, first regular day off tomorrow!!!! No form 50 has shown up, but it is suppose to be in process. We called personnel and the one that is suppose to handle that is on/or was on vacation. Have your PM verify with a phone call that paperwork is being processed. Watch to make sure and how many hours you get paid if any as a PTF. They will eventually want the money back. Been there done that a couple of times. Good Luck

Joe /m8597 -- why is taking a transfer as a regular (not a T6) better as far as being excessed? You are the lowest seniority either way.

Northcarrier, I personally wouldn't make the move to be a regular for a T6 job. If Saturday delivery happens sometime in the next two to three years, which the Postmaster General is still actively in favor of, you would no longer have a route. More than likely that would mean getting bumped out of your new office as you would be the lowest seniority Regular. I'm in the same boat as you, PTF in small office. I had an opportunity for a t6 job about 30 minutes away, but declined and took a Regular city carrier job 2 hours away. More security and no hastle of having to learn 5 routes, only 1. If you do decide to take a reassignment to another office, I would not do it as a t6. The reason why there are so many open is the regulars in those offices already don't want it if Saturday happens.

northcarrier....If it is only a 24 mile commute, I would take it, I know people who said they were going to retire over 6 years ago and they are still here. Remember as a PTF it routes start disappearing, your hours could go away. As a regular, you are guaranteed 40 hours, but you could be excesed. With all that said, I would jump on it to be regular

Northcarrier The only thing that I can think of is that if you are in an office that small it isnt going to be for long. With all of the duo's going on I can't believe your not already in a different office. That being said, if I could guarantee being a regular I would do it in a minute. as long as where your going isn't an absolutely horrible place.

Anyone here make or know any one who made regular recently? I was told that I was to be converted on 5-18 by my Postmaster and later confirmed that everything was a go, by her, but I haven't gotten a form 50 yet and my personnel file online hasn't changed either. Not sure how I'm supposed to know for sure. I certainly don't trust management.
