Hello class of '86! Nice to know someone has decided to create a special website for us. It was a long time coming! I would love to touch base with a lot of my fellow classmates so I hope this will assist in doing that for me. (Thanks, Deanna! By the way, you look so-o different!)

Hi Ladies of LHS..... I hope the years have been good to all of you. Deanna I love your "Remember When" game.... I don't live in the South Bay anymore, I am an OC lady now. But, a few of us from LHS still keep in contact and we play that game all the time.... because times have changed so much, and our kids are missing out on so much. My daughter loves to hear about the "good ol'days" and she loves to ask questions like, "what did you used to do when it rained" or "what did you used to do during the summer". And I love to answer just walk to the mall or hang out with friends or go to the beach.... all those "inexpensive" things that the kids now a days know nothing about. I am so glad that the word is getting out.... but funny how there are no guys from the Class of 86 visiting this site, or wanting there emails listed. Come on, guys get with the program!!! High school wouldn't have been the same without you..... :)
Well, I hope to see you all at the reunion..... :)

Hello All
I am game. Thanks for contacting me again. I hope the word gets out as well. As late as 2001 I was in contact with Deanna English and Dana Patterson. Deanna did not graduate with us but she is still apart of the class. I have since lost contact. High school was great. I missed the 10 year one but I dont plan on missing this one. I to like Sean have been in the Army now for 16 years. Coming home from Iraq soon. I look forward to seeing all you you again and getting reaquintted. somehow, I dont think i spelled that word right but you know what i am trying to say:) My email is guster.cunningham@us.army.mil. Hit me up. I will make it a habit now to check the site out for updates. I check my email twice a day. Hola

Thanks Deanna for inputing my pix so soon. Have already gotten one hit from posting on this site plus talking with you and Legna. Keep up the good work and it is great getting in touch with old friends. High school was a special time, only to happen once. If we we could go back in time to relive all the fun. Somehow I think thinking about it is better. Anywho, thanks for thinking about the class of 86 or as me and my boys called it class of eighty-sex:)

I must say, after taking a look at everyone's 'before and after' photos, and after viewing the tape of our 10 yr reunion, everyone looks BETTER with age! (I ordered the 10 yr reunion video since I had just gotten married that year and was unable to make it to the reunion).

There sure is. It's not a very long recording. There was some company hired to video it. Let me know if you would like a copy and I will send you one. It basically just shows people coming in, telling what they've been up to for the past few years, then it shows the dance. As a matter of fact, since I could not make it, I sent a few pictures to be displayed on their board and I never got my pictures back!! I know they were received because I saw my pictures on the board on the video tape!

Hey, how many of you know that Stacy Dye ending up marrying Mr. O' Conner? If is true,no lie. I was in contact with him back in the early 90s. I wanted to get a copy of the production that i was in. When he wrote me back he told me that they had married at the time and had maybe 2 kids. It was around 94 to 96. Has anyone heard from her? Did mr O retire? I was sad to hear that mr. kaplan passed a way within the past two years. I would probabl know more stuff and have more contacts if I would stop being cheap and pay to be a gold member of classmates. maybe one day. What was the young ladies last name, first name Tanya and liked purple? along with delphina. well enough blabbing today. i will check back in a a couple of days.

Gus, you are so funny remembering all of this stuff! I thought I was the only alumni who remembered everything! The info about Stacy and Mr. O'Conner floors me! I think the Tanya that you are referring to is Tanya Clark, but I like the color purple too (still a Prince fan, ya know). As for Mike Reddington, yes, they said a few words about him at the 10yr reunion and they also had his picture on the board in remembrance of him.

I just wanted to first say Thank you to Deanna who has brought back many memories. Secondly, Hello to class of 86. I'm looking forward in seeing you all at the reunion. I missed the 10th due to just having my second son at that time. Gus, yes Mike did pass away. David Sweet informed me at the time and I was able to attended the viewing. There were quite a lot of us from Leuzinger and it was tragic. I hope you are doing fine and be safe.

Some of you, I've been in contact with everyday since and others that I didn't know while at LHS are fast becoming friends. Gus, you don't need Classmates. You have our website and it's free. Hey Gus,
I just saw the pictures of your family. You all seem so happy. In spite of all you've been through, you still seem to keep your spirits high. Ive just been reading the message board, but never felt compelled to say anything until now. I can't even pretend to imagine what kind of things you've had to go through and see since you've been in Iraq. It kind of makes me feel shameful for complaining about superficial things like rush hour traffic or long lines at the grocery store. Tomorrow, when I am back in that traffic and back in those lines, I'm going to think about the positive attitude you display in your emails and this message board and just be glad and appreciative to be alive. Now, on a lighter note. Did Deanna tell you that I've made several attempts to try and contact Dana at West Coast Customs? Every attempt I make seems to get me nowhere. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if he attempts to contact Leuzinger as we get closer to a 20 year anniversary. If Deanna hadn't gotten a hold of me, that's what I would have done. Hopefully, the alumni we still haven't been able to reach will do the same. Deanna, have you talked to anyone at the LHS office about the plans we are attempting to make? Let me know if you want me to take care of that. My friend Genni's father was the principle at Leuzinger a couple of years back. Maybe I'll call her and see if he still is. I dont know if itll help, but I certainly dont think itll hurt.

I agree Legna. Thanks for your words earlier about my family. I have been truly blessed. AS far seeing life as it is in Iraq I have seen alot. I could have been at ground zero when the messhall was attacked in December but i decided to work through lunch that day. I responded to the incident and helped get evacuation going before transported the injured myself with my crew. I am the eternal optimist, always have, always will. mi familia keeps me going that is for sure. Also God and Jesus as my savior is the icing on the cake:)
We in America are spoiled and that contributes to the hatred a small few have for us in the middle east. I have met some bad guys down in our detention facility that goes with our saying. The average person just wants the same things that we want. Security, food, love, and money. not all in that order. The children are so beautiful over here and they are the ones that suffer for the wrongs of adults. sometimes i wish that we could do a massive air lift of those kids to give them the american dream or at least a chance at it. They can make it over here but the obstacle is the anti-Iraqi forces. I have met teachers and business man who are now interpreters for the U.S. They are a hard working people that are very engenious. dont know if i spelled that right, ok smart. street smart as well as book smart depending where they grew up. My travels have been interesting. Lord only knows where i will end up next. I am done blabbing now. I get long winded sometimes:) Holla!!!!

Well Gus, I guess you really never know how much one person can handle until your actually in the middle of it. Every now and then I wonder how all of you service people find the strength and will power to make it through to the next day. I guess for most of you who have kids, all you have to do is look at their pictures and think "I'm doing this for you, so that you never have to know what it's like to not have freedom." I know God gives us all a purpose in life. I guess you found yours. Still haven't found mine, although I know I have one too. I guess for right now, it's just to be the best mom, wife, friend and neighbor that I can be. Having two kids going through puberty at the same time, and one that I'm trying to potty train, I have been known to be a frazzled mom at her wits end some days. You have three boys right? Tammi Campbell has three boys too. I have all I can handle with two boys. But you know what? I'd rather have 3 boys then three girls. I have one daughter and I can tell you, girls are much harder then boys. I should know. I'm one of 4 sisters. It's no wonder my dad has stark white hair under that dye job. Now I know what my parents meant about payback when we have kids of our own.

Thanks Gus. I feel like my parents are getting back at me. I don't know why? I was a fairly good child/teenager. I know I could have been a lot worse. My friend and I were just talking the other day about how much harder it is to be a parent today, then it was for our parents. There's so much more things a kid can get into today. How much harder is it going to be when our kids have kids? I can't believe that in just a few years, I could be a grandma. How scary is that? Hopefully not real soon. I guess because I was only 2 years older then my son is now when I got married, that thought sometimes crosses my mind. Deanna, your sons right behind my son in age. You ever think about that?

Legna, I think about how fast time is going by every single day. Our kids are going to college soon, Jeannette is a Grandma, our other kids are growing so fast as well. I feel too young to break out the rocking chairs or playing shuffleboard. I used to say in high school that I would never marry or have kids, now when I think back on that, I realize how empty my life would have been. My family is my greatest accomplishment. I proud to say that I've raised three amazing kids and nothing else I could ever do could top that.

Hey Tonya, I guess I have to count my blessing. My son is a senior this year and he still hasn't shown any interest in dating. He's all about sports and video games. My daughter I'm sure will make up for his lack of interest. She's not even 13 yet and she's ALL about the cute boys in school. She of course knows,no dating until she's 16. Is it just me or does it seem like our kids act and look so much older then we did at their age? My daughter can't wait until next year when she can wear a little make-up(colored lip gloss and a little eye shadow.)Now's she talking about wanting a belly button piercing. I told her she'd have to wait until she's 18 and can pay for it on her own. She didn't much like moms answer. Oh well!

Hey Class of 86. Wow, first thanks to Deanna for all your work on the website. Hope we have a good turn-out at the 20 yr reunion. Didn't go to the 10th but will make it to the 20th. Well my life since graduation has taken many turns from my time in the Army, working in consulting, graduating with a Bachelors & Masters in Computers, to proudly working with the Army again as a goverment employee at Fort Irwin (it's near Barstow - on the way to Las Vegas). I pray that our great americans will come home to thier families soon. Thank You Gus and Sean for serving in the best Army in the world. I wish I was over there with you guys. I did my time during the Gulf War and ended with an internal injury which caused me to have brain surgery and leave the military. Gus, I know the stryker brigade up at Fort Lewis. It's beautiful country up there. I've been there a few times at the hospital for training. I'm currently working at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin at their IT department.
Well gang, feel free to email me at rkinyon@charter.net. See you at the reunion.

Hey Gus, I just checked out your website and it was great. What you and the rest of the guys are doing there and all over the world to so courageous. You need to be thanked and thanked often for putting your life on the line the way you all do. My husband was with the 2nd Marine Divison in the First Gulf War and I know how hard it can be on the family. Your family is obviously strong and extremely proud of you. I didn't get a chance to post anything yesterday but I wanted to wish Legna a very happy birthday. Legna, thanks for inviting me and my husband to your lovely home for your birthday celebration last night. Being around all your family brought back fond memories of us together in h.s. You are blessed to have such a great husband and kids. You've done such a fine job raising them. Here's to you, happy birthday, and many more.

Hi all, Happy belated Birthday Legna! and Gus, we are so proud of you and the work you do to keep us safe. You have tons of love and hugs coming your way anytime you need it.I'm still in the south bay, been married almost three years now and been an optician for the last 16 years,(with a few years out to do union organizing with the teamsters). I just lost my mom this year, and that has been hard, but we are getting thru. I hope everyone else is doing well, and Deanna, I loved the Remember whens on the home page, cos..I do remember! lol. be well all.

Theresa, first I want to say I'm so sorry about your mom. I can't even imagine how hard that's been. Deanna and I have recently talked about the important rolls both of our mothers have played in our lives. We've both been blessed with mothers who have and still continue to do a lot for us. I guess all I can say is to just hold tight and cherish all those memories you will forever have of your mom, close to your heart. Every time you talk to people about your mother and all that she meant to you, it'll almost feel like she's with you. I haven't lost my parents, but I have lost other people who have meant a great deal to me. Remembering things we did and times we shared makes me feel so close to them it's almost as if they're in the next room just watching TV or something. You have your extended LHS family if you ever need someone to talk to.
Thank you Gus and Theresa for your birthday wishes. I had a wonderful surprise party given to me by my husband, two sisters and mother. But the best part of my birthday was seeing Deanna and meeting her hotty of a husband Rick. Deanna and I have been working together on the reunion, but actually haven't seen each other in close to 17 years. Dee, thank you again for being there and for helping us the next day to get rid of some of that food. I hope everyone is having a great Monday.

Theresa, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I concur with everything Legna said, those cherished memories will get you through and you have your LHS family if you ever need anyone to talk to. I'm glad the "Remember When" gave you a good laugh. I'll give you another "Remember When" just for you. Here it is .. "Remember When... you were a teenager and worked at KFC in Torrance?" You are probably wondering how I know this. Well, you worked with my husband, Rick Gallardo. He saw your picture in my yearbook and told me that he worked with you. Let's see if you remember him. His picture is with me and the kids on the family picture page. Take care.

Hi everyone, Does anyone know where Tammy Morton (Castanon) is? If anyone sees her or talks to her please let her know about our reunion as well as getting in touch with me. (e-mail) I will really appreciate it. I moved to OC, therefore I don't see anyone anymore. I know she has 3 daughters, I'm hoping one of you have children the same age and maybe see each other. :) Thanks,

I'm getting so EXCITED about the reunion. Because of your website, Deanna, I've heard from a few people I had not heard from in a long while! I hope the word about this website continues to spread!! This is so wonderful for me, especially considering I'm here in Kansas and have no other communication with people from Cali. Thanks again, Deanna for this great idea!

I"m sooo happy people for you, Tonya, and our other classmates who are finally finding one another. I keep saying that we need to spread the word but I really think this site is a bigger sucess than I ever thought it could be. This was my intention all along and planning the reunion kinda of just fell into my lap because of the website and the fact that no one else seemed to be doing anything about it. Legna and I are working are tails off trying to get this thing together. It's almost like a full time job, but it's one that we've come to love and have so much fun doing.

De'Anna, The best way to help is to get the word out about the website and get people to leave there email addresses here so we can contact them. We need to find some many more of our classmates for this reunion. We have a good start with the people that we have now but considering a class size, we have a LONG way to go. We're going to be needing a head count real soon for this reunion. We need to have plans in place way in advance since so many of our classmates live out of state. Thanks for the offer of help. Many of our classmates have also offered to help. We'll definitely need it the closer we get to the reunion. Thanks, Deanna

Deanna, OMG! I so remember Rick from KFC!, I thought he was the nicest guy I worked with. He was always really sweet and easy to get along with. It's funny, before he went into the marines, he also came into the optical shop I had just started working at, he was my First pt. I was just training at the time and he was te first person that I got to use my training on! His dad was a bus driver and I remember I was so glad that Rick was gonna my patient.Thank you and Legna for your kind thoughts, I miss my mom beyond all mention, but I know my beautiful quierida is in heaven (trying to unionize angels, I'm sure), and she is at peace. I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion, and to see peeps from the past....looong past! lol.. be well all.

Hi there everyone, I am glad I found this website! Didn't attend 10th reunion, as I was never contacted about it. My fault since I left town right after HS and didn't really keep in touch with anybody except John Perham. I am looking forward to the 20th, and will continue to check this board on a regular basis. I just recently learned of Mike Reddington's death...What were the circumstances? When did he pass away? I also was sorry to see Mr. Kaplan on the Memorium page as well. He was my journalism teacher for 2 years and was one of my favorites. Cheers, Shelle Williams(then)Michele Melo(now)

Hey Everyone! What a hit this site is! I wish we would have had this option when we were putting together the 10 year reunion. Nonetheless, it is way cool and the 10 year reunion would have had more attendees if we could have located everyone. We had aproximately 200 attendees. Yes, it was video taped and we sold the tape as well as professional photos that were used to create the 10 Year Reunion Album. The 20 year should blow the 10 year reunion away, if we all spread the word about this site. However, I don't know if the after party in my suite can be topped at the 20 year, we'll see. MARLENE SOOF, did you get a hold of Tammy Morton? If not, email me (dorysbalboa@aol.com) and I will get you in contact with her. GUS, thank you to you and all of the troops that put their lives at risk everyday for the USA. As well as all of the classmates that went on to be Police Officers and Firemen, THANK YOU!!! Hope everyone will be able to make our 20 year reunion in the Summer of 2006. Dorys Balboa Class of 1986 P.S. I love you ALAN COLLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello and Good Morning, Wow. I am soo SAD to hear about Cathy. I've known her since Jr. High school and playing WIL-KON Little League Softball together. I believe she played on a team called the Robins and the team I played on were called the Doves. Shoot that was over 20 years ago. My heart and prayers goes out to her family and friends.

Hi Class of 86. Thank you Deanna for your work in getting this site up. It's such a blast to look through the yearbook pics and take a trip down memory lane. I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Kaplan. He was my journalism teacher and I had so much fun in his class. I remember all the fun times I had with Therese Davis, Deanna, and Angie (class of 87) just to name a few. I will certainly keep in touch now that I know about this. Although I wasn't able to go to the 10th, I'm looking forward to the 20th reunion and seeing everyone again. I'm sorry to hear about Cathy. I hope Chris and their family are okay. Hugs to everyone.

Regardless of what's been done or shouldn't have been done, Cathy is alive and that's the only thing that should matter at this point. Not many of us can be a witness to how much we are loved and appreciated after our departure from this world. If there's any consolation to Cathy and her family over this rumor, it is that Cathy is very much loved and cared for my not only her immediate family, but her Leuzinger High School family as well. It serves no purpose to put blame on anyone for this misunderstanding. What's done is done and we all need to get past this and focus on what the website is all about. That is reuniting with all our alumni and remembering good times. Deanna, your intentions were sincere and heart felt. I can appreciate that in a friend.

Hallelujah! I'm so glad this was all just a rumor. I've really been thinking about this a lot since I read about it and it makes you appreciate each day to the fullest. This is just proof of how people hear one thing and run with it. I can appreciate how Deanna tried to get confirmation first, and to be honest, if 3 different people had told me the same thing, I would probably think it was accurate also. On a lighter note, I agree with Legna when she said this shows how much our LHS alumni care for each other. We were all moved by the news and offered prayers and condolences. I'm glad our 'Queen' is alive and well!

Tonya, you said exactly the same thing I was saying yesterday. Although this was an unfortunate misunderstanding, something good came out of it. At least for me, something good came out of it. On that first night that I heard the news, I pretty much didn't sleep the entire night. I couldn't stop thinking about Cathy. That started me thinking about my family and how lucky and blessed I am to have them. Even though I appreciated what I had, this situation has made me appreciate the people I love even more. I thank God every day that I get to be with them and only hope and pray that I have many, many, more years for us to be together. Ok, on another note. Gus, I'm so sorry it's taken me until now to say "Welcome Home." I was so happy to hear that your finally home. Is there anyone out there who is actually a goldmember with classmates? I received a free 'quick note' from one of our classmates, Delania Willis, last night and I would love to tell her about this website. This is the 2nd one I received from her, and I sent her a quick note, but the messages are already pre-made, so you can't actually type in anything so that you can fool the system and type this web address.

You are the second person to bring up Duran Duran in reference to my birthday. :) My brother and sister in law are giving both my husband and I a joint bday party next week and in her invite she told everyone that they would watch me sing Duran Duran tunes for everyone's amusement. :) LOL They like to tease me that I'm reliving my teenage years with this website and reunion planning. Hey Theresa, Rick and I met each other in Jan.of 1989. We worked together at General Cinema in the S.B. A few of us from LHS worked there - me, Nina Laird, Belinda Peru, and Mark Jones. Anyways, Rick and I became really good friends but didn't hook up until that summer. Now we have three kids - Matt, 15, Katie,7 and Sammy,5. We live in Hawthorne. We always talk about what a small world it is. We can play that game, "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon", but substitute either Rick or my name and it works. :)

ok, Deanna, that must have been before he went into the marines, cos, I was at Nuvision in 89 when he came in, and said he was joining up. Wow, it's funny that you still live pretty close to me and we never run into one another lol. Oh well, this has been fun:)

Hey Legna, Rick and I wanted to thank you and Tony for such a great night last night. That was one of the most fun birthdays we've had in years. I'm still feeling the effects right now. :) I just reread your birthday card and got teary eyed again. I'm such a big sap. Cards get me every time :). Thanks again, DEE

You know what? Tony and I had a lot of fun too. It was nice seeing Junior and Amanda after so many years. I too, am still feeling the effects of last night. I tried to tell my in-laws I thought I might be coming down with the flu. Tony said it wasn't the flu. It was one too many "gorilla farts" and "adios's." After having an "adios" I don't think I'll ever order a tequila sunrise again. Thank Amanda for introducing me to my new drink of choice.I can't remember the last time Tony and I laughed so hard. We're glad you guys had a good time. So, what's the next celebration? Glad your Cowboys won. Tommy robbed us of our win. We need Big Ben back. So, Vitamin Cia girl, I guess I'll talk to you later.

Deanna, I just remembered who you need to put on the In memory of page.. Ms. Cunningham, she passed away I think in about the Mid 90's, I remember seeing the obit. She was our class sponsor, so she should rightfully be on the page. I had her for College Writing Senior year, and she was always pretty nice, but firm lol.

Okay, I know it's football season, and everyone's into the games (Steelers 6-2)so I just wanted to say "hello everyone" and see what's going on. Not much activity going on here people. Hey Dee, sorry, but my pick for tomorrows game are the Eagles. Tony and I went for double. Jake's not too sure, so he playing it safe and only went with Philly for 50,000.

What one time bet for Greenbay? Is there something on this Maxim Football Challenge that I'm missing? Well, I can't say very much about todays game, cause I really don't know whose gonna win. I just know I would be in the dog house with Tony if I bet against his Eagles. Oh, the Eagels are now Savannah's favorite team. Yeah, uh huh! She can't give me a reason why she picked the Eagels over the Steelers, other then she wants to be different from the rest of us. Spoken like a true pre-teen. Care to make a little wager on the side for tonights game? How about the losers treat the winners to some Starbuck? I'll place my order with you now to save time. Tony and I take a grande 8 pump vanilla latte with whip cream. Make that extra whip cream.

Hey, all I've gotta say is, count yourselves lucky that McNabb was throwing like a nymcompoop (sp?). Maybe if he'd quit throwing to invisible receivers that only he can see, we might have had a chance. And your right. I believe Al Michaels and John Madden are the main reason for our loss. Why must they always say things like, "you know, they've never lost a game, blah, blah, blah." Okay, Tony and I will concede, if you agree you got lucky. A wins a win, whether luck was involved or not. Congtrats!

Is everyone ready for Christmas? Got all your shopping done? I can hardly believe I finished my shopping with days to spare. And I didn't even lose my patience with people who seem to go a little nutty while shopping for gifts. Well, I did get a little annoyed (ok, a lot annoyed) with one woman who ripped off the "Hold for Molina" paper on one of the two childrens chairs that the store was holding for me. She passed me at the check-out with my chair in her cart. To make matters worse, the second chair that wasn't snatched right under my nose, was accidently dropped on my nail bed by the cashier trying to ring it up. I was already so upset about the lady who took the first chair, that I was surprised that I didn't just lose it right there. Instead, I kept my composure, went to the car, and then had a quick cry to relieve my frustration, and continued on to home. Other then that, most people out and about seem to be filled with an abundance of holiday cheer. It's been very refreshing in compared to previous years. I just wanted to wish everybody a very safe and happy holiday season and hope that Santa brings all of you lots of goodies this year. And a quick shout out to the tamale princess Deanna (aka, Sunshine)it's been a great few months having you back in my life. Can hardly see what kind of trouble you and I are going to get into in the next 20+ years.

We just hired the reunion company before the holidays and they won't be back until the first week of January. In those first couple of weeks a venue and a final date will be decided. Right now, we just want everyone to go to the site to register your information with them. Of course, any additional information will be posted here as well, so keep checking the Olympian News page. Oh, by the way, the dates we gave them to select from were in July and August of next year. Everyone have a safe and wonderful New Year.

Okay, we made it...barely! The Steeler/Colts game was the most stressful game I have ever seen. Even with crappy officiating, we're back in the Championship game. So, you know what that means Rick. We might be meeting your Seahawks in the SuperBowl. So, if that be the case, are you up for another friendly wager? I would say the losers take the winners out for beer, but considering Deanna and I don't drink beer, I think we'll have to come up with something else. Let us know. GO STEELERS!!!

Hi Theresa! I'm doing good, I got married in 2004(took me long enough!) and I sold that house for a huge profit and moved to Washington and bought 2 house right next to each other on 7 acres. Now when family comes to visit I have a nice guest house! Patrick is living in Missouri and working in a lumber mill. He has a 7 year old daughter, but she lives with her mom in carson. My husband Perry and don't have any kids because I can't, but we have 3 dogs. I'm glad I found this site and hope to get back in touch with lots of classmates. I haven't talked to anyone in years! Ladies, Kudos great to see all the work you have been doing. Until yesterday I didn't even realize it had been 20 years. I hope you have more success with this reunion. I had to take the last reunion company to court. They lost all my yearbooks. I recieved a settlement and I hear they are no longer in business. Tip don't let anyone ever borrow your yearbooks. No amount of money can ever replace them. Congratulations Cindy!! Hope I can make the reunion.

Hi Susie,
I don't know if you remember me or not. We were camp counselors together our senior year. I think Deanna (to my dismay) posted a picture of all of us on the website. My husband and kids are still laughing at me because of that picture plus few others Dee has on there.
Sorry to hear about your yearbooks. I only got the senior yearbook and that was thrown in the trash by a slightly deranged ex-roommate. I'm sure the settlement you received can never make up for the loss of those yearbooks. I had to take the photographer that took my wedding pictures to court. I wanted the pictures. The judge said that since the pictures were the property of the company, all I could get back was my money. Life (and people) just aren't fair sometimes.
Well, I hope your doing well and can make the reunion. Deanna is putting her blood and sweat into this thing. It should be lots of fun. Take care.

That is one of the only pictures of me I have seen from that long ago. My kid's thought it was hilarious. Somehow in all my moves all my pictures from highschool are gone as well as those yearbooks. I am actually greatful she posted it, I just can't believe I didn't notice it until you said something. And yes I remember both of you. Sue

Yes, it was 6th grade camp. I think the school was York Elementary. Deanna would know for sure. That was a lot of fun. It was the first time I ever saw snow. Granted, it was in small patches on the ground. I also remember that I had the cabin with all the "bad" kids. I have a bunch of pictures somewhere of camp. I'll try and find them, scan them and then I can send them to you.

Hello All! Just checking in to see if there are any 'new' recognizable names. So far, I remember who everyone is, even though you all may not remember who I am. Anyway, it's funny that Camp Hawthorne was mentioned, because I was a camp counselor for my junior and senior years and had a great bunch of kids both times. There were even some kids who got attached and cried at the end! I hope everyone considers sending Deanna recent pictures for the 'before and after' and the 'alumni family photos' sections of this website. I enjoy seeing how everyone looks now, and their families. It keeps me 'closer', since I am so far away (Kansas). I like the fact that more and more alumni are finding out about this site also. I hope everyone can make it to the reunion, although it is still up in the air for me. I'm going on a Caribbean cruise for my 10th wedding anniversary only 2 months prior, so making another trip so soon afterwards is 'iffy'. Brandy--you and the guys need to give up the 'macho' image and go on to the reunion, my fellow Prince fan (yes, I remember decorating the cafeteria during spirit week when we were sophomores, and you were singing little red corvette and all of the other songs from the 1999 album!!) Susie--I wish I had known you were suing the last reunion company, because even though I couldn't make the 10 yr reunion, I sent in about 4 of my personal pictures for them to post on the board, which was done, because I saw the video and the board was on the video, but I never got my pictures back!! I bet you could probably contact LHS office to see if they may possibly have any extra yearbooks in the library archives, or storage, or somewhere to sell you, so you can have your yearbooks replaced.

Tonya...
Prince fan...that is funny. I don't have any memory of that situation at all. Still a Prince fan by the way. I don't know, about the only thing I recall from school is a few parties, some conversations, a few football highlights, teachers, drama class, prom, and that is about it. I guess they say your memory is the first thing to go :-)
Nah, I'm not trying to be macho and I don't think the 'guys' were either 10 years ago. I know for me, I just got lazy at the last minute and probably played golf or something else, I 'really' wanted to do as opposed to loading up and traveling and all that. When I said I wasn't going, Jamy used me as a reason he wasn't going. I always said I would make the 20th if I missed 10...so.
If any of you all remember me at all, I didn't follow the crowd or was a big groupthink type person. Kind of did my own thing. So, I'll ask a few of the guys if they are going, but if they don't, it won't impact my decision. If everything plays out right, I'll be there.
B

Hey Deanna,
I just caught what you said in regards to camp. As I remember it (and you know, my memory is kind of slipping lately) I had the bad/tough kids and you had all the cry babies. It was most of your kids that got scared in the middle of the night and ended up sleeping in our councelors sleeping quarters in the middle of the night. I guess it didn't help that you brought a tape recorder with the theme song from "Friday the 13th" that you played the first night we got there. Remember the kids laughed at first. Then before we knew it, they started to pile into the middle room? That was funny. In the end, we loved our little cabin kids a lot. I'll bet you'll never remember what our cabin name was. Hi all,
It's been a while and just wanted to say hello to you all. We sure have a great class of 86. I feel the energy. I can't wait until August. I wanted to say hello to Cindy. Remember me Cindy? All the way back from Mark Twain School. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. I live in Anaheim Hills and I'm a Realtor along with my husband. I have two boys and they keep me pretty busy. :) God Bless you all, See you all in August.

My kids at camp were angels!!! I worked there for junior and senior year so I wasn't sure which year that was. I also tried to work there the following summer but a nasty little incident got me fired, and that time I wasn't even guilty. If I remember right all the cabins were named after either birds or trees or animals I can't remember. I do however remember hanging out in Sherman lodge on that trip. It's great to see so many familiar names. Brandy I don't know if you remember me or not we had a few classes together. I am on vacation the week before the reunion but am coming back saturday , I am debating whether I will be able to make it. I hope people keep finding their way here, I havent been in touch with anyone in a long time and all ready I have been able to reach out to so many old friends.

Hello again everyone!! Susan Curry Green, Am I forgiven???? I sure have missed you. I'm sorry I didn't call you back when my mom died! the funeral was way down in Fallbrook and I didn't think anyone would want to travel that far! I was a little out of it! Hi Marleen, of course I remember you, I'm not that old yet!!!Glad to hear everyone is doing well. By the way, I was also at camp with you guys! I don't remember a darn thing about it except for one girl in my cabin. She was dutch and had this beautiful long thick hair that the other girls were jealous of and she went into the bathroom and cut it all off. It was so sad. It's funny Sue, I remember you getting fired, but not why! I'm still up in the air about the reunion. My dad is having heart surgery tomorrow and I might have to go down sooner than August! Anyway, Everyone take care

Yes Cindy your forgiven. I can't believe it no matter how often you me and Robin get seperated we always manage to find each other. My e-mail is listed so send me one so I can get yours or I will check to see if it is posted. Cindy you'll never guess who else I managed to connect with. Remember Hank. Robin are you coming down for the reunion. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it but if you go so will I. I'm getting back from vacation that day and didn't know if I could make it. Why I got fired is a long story. If you come down here let me know and I'll clue you in. It started by sneaking out of camp during pre-camp. And that was only the beginning. Robin how are the kids?

Deanna, Terrance from c/o 81 posted a note on their board. Mr. Don Cameron Passed away recently. I know everybody remembers Mr. Cameron, and if you didn't have him for History, you sure heard that Air horn of his alllll the way down the hallway! lol. He was a great teacher, if a bit gruff and grouchy sounding. To his daughter, we send our love and condolences, be proud, your dad made a real difference at Leuzinger.

I had Mr. Cameron...twice. The two things I remember about him most were the fact that he use to scare me and he always asked me if I was related to Truman Capote. The class use to bust up laughing and then he'd have to hush them up by saying what a brilliant author Truman Capote was. He's the only teacher I ever had, that I desperately tried to hide from. I definitely never, ever made the mistake of falling asleep in his class. It sounds like he live a wonderful and full life and I guess that's all we can hope for before we die.

Dang. Mr. Cameron. Does anyone have any contact info for his family. Mr. Cameron was a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT educator. I loved the man. He also coached me in freshman football. I can't say a bad thing about him. He held me accountable as a young man for everything and I appreciate him to this day for it. For years I kept saying I would go back and see him, I feel terrible that I didn't do it more often. I probably seen he two times after graduation but none since. I feel terrible about that. Anyway, if you didn't have him, he was a brilliant teacher. A Stanford University Alumnus, with a booming voice but he could tell a historical story and you would actually be in the theatre when J Wilkes Booth assinated Lincoln. He was THAT good. He made me love history and politics.
I will miss him. Again, if anyone has any contact info to the family, I would appreciate. You can email to bfharris@abemag.com
Thanks

So sad to hear about Mr. Cameron! I hated history, but I loved his class, because he kept it interesting and entertaining! Yes, who can forget about that air horn! His class was the only class that the students actually DID NOT try to wake up a sleeper! He will be missed. My condolences to the family, as well.

Sad to hear about Mr. Cameron. He was an amazing teacher! Besides the air horn to wake you up...he would stick his foor under a desk and lift it up and the pull his foot out and the desk would hit the ground. I was soooo scared to fall asleep in his class. Can't wait to see everyone in August!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that I hope everyone has a terrific time at the reunion, and I hope that there will be a huge turnout for it. Unfortunately, I won't be in attendance (again!) because my sister is getting married. I was really hoping I would be able to make it this year to see everyone. I've not seen anyone since graduation, since I moved so far away. Anyway, again, have a wonderful time and remember to tell me all about it. Deanna/Legna...if there will be a video on the happenings at the reunion, I would love to purchase one. Let me know how I can do so. I purchased the video for the 10 year reunion and it was nice to be able to at least see people that way.

Hello everyone. Remember me? How is everyone doing? Are Mr. Strahan, or Mr. Reynolds still alive? They taught my mother and father when they went to Leuzinger, so I kind of don't think so. I was also very surprised about Mari Gottis. What happened? I'm currently teaching math at El Dorago High School in Placentia. I'm living in Irvine with my husband and two children. Hey ya'll! Let me begin w/a sincere & most gracious "Thank You!" to Deanna & Legna, for providing us all w/these priceless & precious opportunities to more effectively & easily "Catch-up!" Such generous & selfless gifts of Time and Kindness, are so very rare,in our current, tragically turbulent & spiritually confusing World! Hey Deanna, "Remember When.....turbulence was rarely felt outside the plane and "Common-Sense" actually was..............COMMON!!??" (Much GRATITUDE, to ALL our Military Personnel, past, present & "angelic," for their selfless sacrifices to ensure our continued freedom, even for those who take that freedom & safety for granted & most especially for those who say, "Stop! Come home, we don't want War, I don't enjoy my freedom, nor do I appreciate the countless lives GIVEN w/o hesitation to secure the freedom & prosperity of my family and friends! I Believe in War!") Thank you James,Gus,Sean & any of our other amazing Military "Olympians!" I owe my very existence to you & your fellow brothers & sisters in arms! WE ALL DO!! I continue by offering my heartfelt condolences & prayers to all those who knew & loved our fellow Olympians, both students & teachers, who have completed their "Assigned" task's amongst our amazing world(Most, in our humble opinions, "Worked" too quickly & left us too soon!) and are now fulfilling more angelic duties for HIM, our #1 ultimate HEFFE! (Or maybe the Ultimate Heffa?!) By the way, before I continue, does anyone even remember me? Anyone other than Deanna & Legna, that is! It's actually "OK!" if you don't, as that "Lisa A. Garcia" really no longer exists! (Although, unfortunately, the "Shell" hasn't changed as much as I'd prefer. A bit less in "stature" than 20yr's ago, not as less as I was 12yr's ago! DARN IT!) Gotta go for now, but I WILL be at the Reunion! Love ya'll, Lisa

"Calling all Olympian's!!" I'm desperately in need of your assistance! I'm trying to locate: Maria Rodriguez(Don't recall her married name); John Frausto; Rick Dempsey; Mike Fanning; Angelica Ayala & Tina (Meadows)Regas. I would really appreciate any info that is provided. Thanks!
Hey Cindy Chamness, nice to read that your coming down to enjoy the 20th. I just saw your sibley's Denise & Nathan about 3 wk's ago, did Denise mention it? They were at a "Surprise" going-away party/picnic, my lil sister, Jaimie, put together for our Mom & her Dad, David. I'm sure Denise told you that Nola(My Biological Mother)& Dave moved to Colorado. It was great getting a chance to talk w/them again. I haven't seen Denise in about 13-15 yr's, when Nola had a huge gathering to "Re-introduce" to some and introduce other family & friends to her resently reconnected with, her first child, ME! I'm pretty sure that I met up w/them at other times, Nola does love to "Show-off!" her eldest, that is, until I remind her of the "Bad" reality, she'd like to ignore (Wouldn't we all?) MY AGE! hahaha! Hope to hear from you soon, C-ya next week. Hey James, what's up buddy?

Hey Theresa, Thx, for the info! Any chance you can let Tina know, I'm looking for her? email - lisasolympians@2shetaz.com Hope all is good for you, having read all the msg's, so far, I'm somewhat updated. Sorry about your Mom, however, you now have a strong Guardian Angel, to aide you, as you finish your "Mission" here amongst us, just as your Mom, has completed her's. Like my brother (Taken 3yr's ago, at 44), she's now handling more "Angelic" duties, in the name of our #1 HEFFE! (Or maybe, our #1 HEFFA?!) They remain a huge part of our lives, & we've been blessed w/ thier existance in our lives! GOD's blessing's are abundant, we simply need to remain open-minded, & learn to except them, good/bad/fair or unfair, only HE knows the true plan, have FAITH! Lisa

Lisa, Thank you very much for your kind words, I do believe my Quierda is now safe in the arms of God, she suffered quite a bit with the diabetes and it was time for her to gain peace. At this time, I still have to say...I miss her to no end. tomorrow 8/23 is exactly 18 months since I lost her and she is often on my mind and always in my heart. Since we have recently moved, I am putting new flowers in front of the house as a tribute to mom, it will be her special remembrance garden. I am sorry to hear about your brother, it is so hard to lose the ones we love and cherish so deeply. May God bless you and keep you safe. T.

Lisa, you asked about John Frausto, interestingly enough, my brother and his wife who live in Florida, well my brothers wife started working for a company called nest. (childrens video learning from a biblical view) anyway , john frausto, brother is one of the Presidents of the Co. Trying not to make such a long story, but when they met for the first time about a year ago, they remembered me but evedently not in a good way.
I do remember John Mom being the Band Mom. Do u still play the Saxaphone?
I still have mine and play it for the kids every now and then....I have 2 Fraser Glen 8, Pearl Elizabeth, 7.
Have u heard anything about Dr. Fred Morgan,,,I probably wouldn't even graduated if it hadn't been for him.
Talk to u later.

Hey James, (aka "Ozzy!")
LOL - Slow down buddy. Let me see if I got this right, you're wife just got a job, w/a Co. for which John's brother is the Pres. & some small-minded idiot said something "Not so good" about YOU? Small world! So, any chance of getting any msg.'s to John? I still have my Sax, don't play much these days. Not even sure I know the chord's anymore. But, I keep telling myself, "I'll re-learn, someday!" Any news on anybody else from our group? I saw your Pix, great kid's! I'm happy for you. Sorry to hear about your injury thou. That bites! I hope you're coming to the Reunion!??! It'd be great to see you again.
As for Morgan, not sure, I want to confirm my thoughts, before I inform.
Did you hear about Roger Deloza, he passed away about 10yr's ago or so! He left a wife & a kid. Freak accident, he had a hole in his heart, & it finally gave out! Tragic as hell! I was all over the internet & email when I heard/read a bit about this, so I could confirm! Unfortunatly, it was true! He was a great guy, I'm blessed for having known him!
Anyway's, gotta go, for now! Hope to see you Sat. 'Til next time!

Mrs. Kippel-Gonzalez! Thanks very much for asking! I am very fine, thank you very much! How are you? You know, when I saw your name on this board the other day to which I owe gratuities to my partner in crime Kathy Staiger-Hayes for directing me to it) I thought of your Dad -- is he well? Do you know my Mother had an incurable romantic crush on him? When I tell her you've made contact with me, I'm also going to tell her that I divulged her dirty secret to you. When she'd come for me at your house, she'd always say, "That man is so HANDSOME damn it!" as if it were an inconvenience. As an adult, I understand her dilemma. HA HA HA! It's so funny to me now, but your Dad was always very handsome, I did agree with my Mother. I've not read through these posts, so I don't know if you've procreated. How many kids, if any? I didn't have my first until I was almost 26 -- I was busy wreaking havoc in the world! And setting up my Armchair Armageddon!!! I cannot -- wait -- WILL NOT BE STOPPED! Here's my final reproductive score: Boys - 3, Girls - 0 (is that like, way clinical? Bear with me -- no pun intended.) My three sons (that sounds like a show) are Montgomery, Westleigh, and Quinton, ages 13 (9/27), 8, and 6 years respectively. And the uterus is now CLOSED. FOREVER!!! But it's still an entertainment attraction, I'm not fool! My husband had his plumbing capped, if you know what I mean, so now I'm free! Free to be me!!! Which, actually, I'm not that free you know. Can't just go being "me" and terrorizing the world. Since I am still actively ovulating and apparently breathing, my husband gave me a lovely gift -- he had his plumbing "fixed" so I don't have to take drugs to suppress my basic instinct and evil reproductive nature. He tells me if I were ever to expectant again he'd have the right to execute me in the barn, with no last requests. He says the Immaculate Conception excuse has been exhausted. I don't know what to say about that (I thought it was totally possible!) or his threat other than BRING IT ON! HA HA HA!!! I've not grown out my indomitable Spirit, so, I try not to live on the edge (all the time). But the edge is alluringly deceptive...(backing up from the precipice...). I'd love to hear how you and your family are doing! Tell me everything you'd never tell a Priest. HA HA!!!! Many warm wishes to you, Mrs. Grown Up Kippel-Gonzalez :) Much affection being sent to you and yours! /m211

I want to send a special thanks to Deanna and Legna for all of thier efforts into making OUR 20 Year Reunion a GREAT NIGHT TO REMEMBER!
I must admit when I first arrived at the hotel and saw the size of the room and the limited number of chairs that were set up, I was worried...but the room filled up quickly and overflowed outside to the bar area. It was wonderful to see so many of you whom I grew up with and to hear of all of your success stories!
At the end of the evening, I heard rumors of a 25-year get-together!!!??? If so, let's start planning now and working on getting everyone from Leuzinger's BEST EVER Graduating Class!!!
If you are traveling to the Baltimore / Washington DC area, please contact me and get together for some Maryland Crabs! dradek@hotmail.com

MARC -- this must be truly meant to be. This is a SIGN!
Me lo dijo un Babalawo -- okay, man?
Escribeme -- we must hook up! Oye, y El Cucuy didn't let you sleep! Oh man, I bet you can't kill one of them with a chancla, okay? Not even with the mighty Chancla and the wrath of a woman in rollers!
Marc --
The hand that holds the chancla, RULES THE WORLD! -- OMG ROFL!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, y El Chupacbara, eh? They truly suck, I mean, better than I can (?), as they were known to suck a cow inside out. Suck the living organs out of livestock man!
But apparently most seen and documented in the Hispanic community!! ROFLLL!
Hey! Don't get your tail feathers all ruffled! I'm Cuban! I am ALLOWED to say that! HA! Fear the chancla!
HA HA HA HA!
Marc! Send me a classmates e-mail! Or better! Serenade me with a voice mail! Ha!

Hey ya'll! Thanks to those of you who attended our 20th! It was nice to see ya'll having a good, even with me! It was very cool. Most especially, I'd like to thank my buddies, Deanna & Legna! You'll never know how you both assisted me w/a seriously major accomplishment. I not only did I overcome/shatter my insecurities & self-esteem issues (Which, I haven't experienced for the last 18yr's, by the way! Wow, is H.S. a POWERFUL, life altering phenomenon or what!?), but, I guess I can/should say, thanks ladies, for the coming-out party!!! LOL Only 1 think would have made it an even better nite/experience, other than having certain classmate's there, but, unfortunately, Phoenix prevailed! Ya know?

I had a great time on Saturday and sure hope everyone else did too. Lisa, you, Jeannette and Deanna where the main reason why I had such a great time. It's been a long time since I laughed that much. Between you, Tony and Jeannettes husband Jesse, I came home with a splitting headache from so much laughter. It really was a great night. We actually had a bigger turn out then expected. Forty two people showed up at the door to buy tickets. I'm counting on and looking forward to all of us getting together real soon and doing some more laughing.
For everyone else, it was so nice to see so many familiar faces. I can't believe how so many people still look the same. I can only hope that means most of us have had a great 20 years. I hope we all can look just as good 10 years from now for the 30th reunion.
I just wanted to remind everyone, that there is still time to purchase the DVD slide show from the evening. The cost before August 30th is $25. Anything after that will be subject to an additional $5. The DVD package includes not only footage of the evening and of LHS, but it also contains a CD for you to print out any pictures you want that the photographer took that night. It's going to be a really nice way to capture the evening forever.

Ken, I want to say thank you for staying and trying to help find my keys that the valets lost. Thankfully my mother had a spare and I was finally able to leave the reunion at four a.m. Just wanted to let you know they found the keys IN ONE OF THEIR POCKETS! Can you believe that! They are still rekeying the car. It was great to see everyone. Thank you Legna and Deanna for all your hard work, it was an amazing time. Everyone looked great! Rita, I can still tell that you live life to the fullest! Keep it up! It was great to see people I went to elementary school with! I hope to keep in touch with more people this time. Thanks, Robin

I'm glad you all had such a great time. Lisa, Rick is still talking about how much you made him laugh. We had such a great time at our table (even if I only heard half the conversations- damn speakers!!!!!) We all have to get together like we talked about. That night was only the begining. Legna, you know we have to get together soon to make some more tamales. I've been wanting more, so I have to put you back to work. Jeannette, thanks for coming out. It was great seeing you. We act like you live sooooo far away but it's only 45 minutes. No more excuses for us not seeing one another (that goes for Lisa and Leggie as well.) You guys have know me longer than anyone and none of you take my shit (I don't take your's either). :)

Ken, you are very welcome. It was a lot of fun to do. I'm sorry that you didn't get in for the dinner. I heard from a few people, that the Great Reunions hostess was kind of rude to late comers. If she was to you, I apologize. I had no idea so many people where not being let in until after dinner. I felt really bad when I received that information at the end of the evening. I'm glad that you had a lot of fun regardless and hope that means we can count on you being there for the 30. With the way time fly's, it'll be here before you know it.

To all LHS alumni, I just got a call from from Angela (the photographer for the reunion)saying that they WILL accept checks. So, make sure you go to "Reunion Information" on this site and get the details on how to purchase your DVD slide show. We're trying to download the order forms onto this site for you to use when ordering your DVD. If we can't, then just send your name, address, and check to the address provided. She's just adding the finishing touches to the DVD's, so we should be getting them a lot sooner then the 2-3 weeks as expected. Don't forget. Along with the DVD slide show, you will also be getting a CD of all the pictures that were taken that night, for your to develop on your own. I don't know of any photographers that would give up the rights to a negative, forcing you to pay lots of $$$ for prints to be developed. It's really a great deal and a wonderful way to preserve the evening forever.

That is true. I guess if enough people are interested in a 25, we could very well have one. I have to say, I had a whole lot more fun then I expected to. Deanna really had to press me into helping her plan it. Once I got the bug, there was no stopping me. You should have seen what a crazy woman I was the week prior to the reunion. And then, while we were decorating and setting up the tables, I was a mad woman who was on a mission. I'm just thankful that Deanna, her husband Rick and my husband didn't lock me in the closet for bad behavior. Just kidding. I wasn't quite that bad. I was very happy with the end results. The only decorations that Great Reunions provided, where the little mega phones. They seem to be a huge hit. I know the men at our table thoroughly enjoyed them to our embarrassment.

Yes, the mega phones were a hit at our table. But the rest of the decorations were all Legna. She did such a nice job on the centerpieces, that I almost forgave her for her Monica Gellar impersonation - I said almost :). Look people, I know that this is early but if we get enough of a response, maybe Legna and I will do the 25 year one after all. It gives us 5 years to plan it. I was talking to Therese Davis tonight and she brought up that maybe we can plan something like an annual gettogether, like a alumni family picnic or something to that effect, so that people will stay in touch. It's just some ideas to throw at there. Let me know what you all think.

Glad to hear everybody had a good time.
Kathy I remember you from freshman year. Congrats on your 18th Anniversary and 3 boys, that is AWESOME!!! We're so happy to finally be blessed with one. Don't know if another one is in the works since it took 6 years for this one. But we are sure happy to be getting this one.
Mr. Marc last time I saw you, you were doing Toys for Tots at the Raider vs. Seahawks game (1988 or 89?) Glad to hear everybody had a good time.

Ah, don't you just love getting those calls when something goes wrong at home? I feel for you Robert. Those situations are never fun. We recently came home from vacation to find out that our electricity went out when we were gone. Everything in our fully stocked refrigerator went bad. From the looks AND SMELL, it must have shut off right after we left. My husband (the Godsend) took it upon himself to clean everything out, so that I wouldn't pass out from the smell. I felt super guilty hiding in another room, when I could clearly hear him gagging in the kitchen. One day later, we had a refrigerator service man come over to check the frig out. Now, it was his time to gag. He didn't have it as bad. Tony had already drained the melted ice that mixed with the blood from the meat that had gone bad. Definitely not what you want to come home from vacation to. Lesson #1, never stock your refrigerator right before you go on vacation. And #2 make sure the freezer Ziploc bags you use to separate you meats are always securely closed before freezing.
Robert, I'm glad you were at least able to make the reunion for a little while and that you had such a good time. The party ended at 1am. From the looks of it, there where a lot of people who looked like they could go on another few hours.

Hey guys! I received the reunion dvd/cd yesterday and immediately watched them. How wonderful everyone looks! I truly think everyone looks better than they did at the 10 yr reunion. Pam, DeeDee, Tia, and Candice...y'all are my girls and I'm sorry again for not reuniting with you all, but we'll try to get together as soon as I can make it back to CA. Pam, it was nice to hear your voice when you called after the reunion. I'm very bad about calling people...I'm a 'new aged computer/email' type of person (LOL)! Anyway, it looks like everyone had a blast. Hope to see everyone at the next go 'round!

Shana -- I'm in IDAHO -- not quite down the freeway anymore!
Mom moved to Idaho also, so did my Uncle Rey, and my Dad I'm still working on. His wife doesn't want to move, wants to go back to Mexico.
I've offered to stuff her in my trunk and drive her there...
I really miss my Dad, it's a very touchy subject with me. This farmhouse has a guest house, it's all very modest, and I'd like to gut it and redmodel it for him, or he can move into the main house with me. He was with me every day anyway, and I'm used to the nagging. I miss him so much, I do terribly.
So, Idaho. I'm here, unless you'ved moved here as well.

Not very much going on here on the message board. What's been going on with everyone? Did everybody have a good Halloween? Our last trick or treater showed up at 9:15. By 8:45, people where driving their cars up and down the streets and dropping kids off at houses that were still lit and then jumping back in the car and on to the next house. This year, a lot of people went all out creating spooky atmospheres on their front lawns for the kids. I think Halloween is starting to come back. For a few years, the streets where pretty empty and not a lot of people would pass out candy. I'm glad people are starting to get back into the spirit. I LOVE Halloween. It's the start to the whole holiday season. Hope everyones having a great week.

What about Horror Movie hosts on Saturday night. Kids would actuall watch old black and white movies with commercials and everything. Wizard of Oz was on once a year and it was like a damn holiday when that night came. Now every kid has every Star Wars movie and every Jurassic Park movie and all the Hobbit movies sitting there on their shelf. Wizard of Oz is now some old musical their parents used to watch. It has no significance at all anymore to kids.

Hello all! Anyone out there? Haven't touched base in a while, so I thought I'd drop a line or two. Still here in Kansas, where it's raining and snowing in APRIL!!! Funny, since it was just 81 degrees here last Monday! Not too much going on with me...still happily married, working on my Masters and the start of a new business venture with my husband and other partners. I'm starting to feel a little 'old' though, since my oldest daughter just turned 19!! She just informed me that she does not want to live in the dorms next year, she wants her own apartment!! Not sitting too good with me right now! :) My youngest is now 3 and my son is 8, so I still have quite a few years before they leave the nest. Hope everyone is doing well and keeping in touch. I'm so glad this site was developed so that we could all keep in touch and find out what's going on with everyone. Please keep me informed on the next gathering or reunion. I hate that I've missed the 2 reunions because I want to see EVERYONE!! I've been keeping in touch with Tammi Campbell through e-mails...my favorite communication source. I hate talking on the phone and writing letters. Well, I'm rambling now, so I'll close. Hope to hear from some of you real soon! Gus, you will be a little closer to me now. San Antonio isn't too far from Kansas! Take care! Tonya

Hey Tonya,
I was starting to wonder the same thing....is anybody out there??? I know everyone's been really busy with life and everything else that comes with it. And your right. I don't know what I would do without email. I too hate to talk on the phone. I get too many interruptions to be able to sustain any kind of a conversation for long. My days are just too busy. I'd rather email through out the day when I get a moment to breathe. I also feel for you about feeling old. Our oldest is in his second semester of college and now will be leaving for the Coast Guard in May. He's never been away from home, so this is going to be a little tough on me in the beginning. But we've got to let our kids go at some point. Our middle daughter, Savannah, starts high school this fall. Ethan our youngest is in kindergarten. And then we have the baby on the way. I'm 4 1/2 months now. I'll know on Monday what we're having. Hoping for another boy, but everyone else wants me to have a girl. Really, I'll just be happy for a healthy baby. That's really what's important.
We put our house on the market and are hoping to move to Temecula/Murrieta by summer time. Not really ready for a move, but figured this would be the best time, since Savannah is going to be starting High School. She really doesn't want to start HS and then have to leave to start a new school. I can understand that.
Well, I sure hope you can make the next reunion. It'll be here before you know it. Time just goes by that quickly. Time sure went by slow when I wanted to be 18 to get out of the house and then 21 so that I could drink. Now when I want it to slow down, it just won't. Hope everyone's doing great.

Theresa, when you say "HOT" how hot are we talking about? I don't do very well in the heat. How cold does it get in the winter time? I'm more of a winter kind of person. How far is Hemet from Temecula? Thanks on the congrats. We're really happy. Especially since we just found out on Monday that we're having another boy. That'll make 3 boys, 1 girl for us. My mom and a few other family members were kind of bummed at first. Everyone wanted me to have another girl. Gosh, I can barely handle the one girl I have now. I'm just kidding of course. She's a great student and a good girl. Now, if we could just get her to stop looking at herself in the mirror and stop pulling her shorts down to below her hip bone, my husband might avoid becoming completely gray. We can hardly wait till she starts dating. That's when I'll probably start to go gray too.

Yeah, I hear that the 91 is a real pain in the morning. My husband works in Carson, right off the 91. He'll be in the thick of it everyday. He doesn't start work till 7am, and will be carpooling with two other guys. I don't know how much of a difference that's going to make. How early do you leave for work in the morning Ken and how long does it take you to get there? I'm looking forward to living somewhere, where you can get the four seasons. I thought you had to live back east to get that.

We usually start at 7 also and we usually get to Cypress in about 45 minutes in the mornings. With three people carpooling you can use the three plus lane in fastrak.Going home it takes about an hour door to door.I also like the cooler weather. We put a pool in two years ago and it helps to get through the heat.

Legna, last summer when we moved here, the first 2 weeks I could not breathe, and our light bill hit 300 a month, which is not bad, there were reports of peoples' bills being up into the 700-800.00 range. One night it was so hot, I took my pillow out to the patio and slept there. I am hoping that this year is not so hot, When we first moved, I still commuted back to Torrance, it was about 2 and a half hours each way. Hemet is about 30-40 min. down winchester from temecula. As for cold, get some extra blankies, it gets pretty cold some mornings, It actually snowed one day, it only lasted a few min. but It was the first time in my life I had ever seen it. I'm sure your new little guy will be a very handsome addition! As for your daughter, GOOD LUCK! LOL they seem to grow so fast these days. Hope to hear from you soon.

And if you had the kind of snow that we get all of the time in the winters (and this year, even in the spring), you would not be so excited to see it. We get so much of it here in Kansas that it's gotten to the point where they don't even close schools anymore. It has to be a very bad ice storm with terrible road conditions before anything gets cancelled. Right now, I am watching the news and we are having freakin' tornado warnings and watches everywhere. This weather is crazy...100 degrees one day and 35 the next. Hot and sunny earlier today and cool, and stormy tonight. It gets OLD real fast!! I wish we had Cali weather here! By the way, I'll send ya a snowball!! :)

...just had to add one more thing...I miss the Cali weather, but NOT the Cali cost of living! $300 light bill??? That is outrageous! I guess I can't complain about my $150/mo. bill anymore, can I? I can't even imagine paying $700-$800! That's one way to make me stay in tornado-land!! :)

You know what? With how hot it's been in my house the last 2 summers, I would gladly pay ANYTHING to have central air. My cell phone bill has never been more then $65 a month. When we were having work done on our house, the contractors called me many times a day on my cell phone. I thought it was no big deal. I had all those roll over cingular minutes. At least, I thought I did. I didn't know that as of January 1st, what ever minutes you hadn't used for that year, you lose. When I got my cell phone bill for that month, it was $986. I had no extra minutes and was being charged for all those calls. My friends would say, "at least you had fun talking on your phone for a month." There was no fun in talking to difficult contractors, nor was it any fun paying that bill. I can say I would thoroughly enjoy nice cool A/C in my house, what ever the cost. I don't do well in the summer. Kind of cranky because of the headaches I get. My husband would pay anything to have a sane Legna for the summer. Besides, summer is only a few month. We'll have to just cut back on other things to accommodate our rising electric bill for the summer. It'll be so worth it.

Well, I totally recommend getting some fans for night time, Rob (my hubby) and I turn the AC off at night and sleep with the fans on. but the great thing is, sitting outside at night is wonderful, it's still warm, so you can sit out and just stare at the stars....you can really see them here. One night, Rob and I sat up till 2am watching a meteor shower. It was so beautiful!. Be well.

Thanks Ken. I am looking forward to it. Even though I know it's going to be hard on my daughter to have to start another new school and have to make all new friends, she'll be just fine. The only concern I've ever had about us making the move there is the commute for my husband. I guess part of it for me, is the fact that I hate to drive. I put myself in his position and say, "heck no!" when it comes to commuting. He doesn't dislike driving like I do. It's not just 5 days a week he'll be commuting. It's 5 days a week, plus every other weekend. They have mandetory OT every other weekend. I think he'll be okay. He won't be alone. I just won't have peace of mind until I see him safely arrive home every day. For me, just going out that way visiting my friend on the weekends, it just seems like a whole new world. Everything is new, your've got the wonderful mountain views. I think we're going to be very happy out there. Plus, it'll be nice to have my A/C I've always wanted. And I will take Theresa's advice and stock up on the fans.

It's for that reason, that I always keep jackets in our car for me and the rest of the family. You just never know with California weather. Even when we go out somewhere and it's hot outside; it could turn cold by early evening.
We're getting kind of excited. We're going to spend next weekend in Murrieta and start looking at houses. I'm sending a list of homes to our agent to research. We still haven't gotten any offers on our house yet, but will hopefully get something soon. April was a particularly slow month for people selling homes. It happened to be our first month on the market. They keep telling me that it picks up in May. A lot of people coordinate their move with the kids getting out of school. I sure hope so. These open houses are driving me crazy. Just not use to having people walking through my house and opening closets.
Theresa, do you and your husband ever go to the wineries they have out in Temecula and Murrieta? I hear theyre really nice to go to. Even if your not much of a wine drinker. A year before I got pregnant, my husband and I started acquiring a taste for wine. We would get really excited about trying new ones to add to our wine rack. Now that Im pregnant, I cant have any. I did take a sip of my mother-in-laws Pinot Gregio at Easter, because Id been dying to taste it. It was good. I can hardly wait to have a full glass of it.

Sorry Legna, neither of us are wine drinkers, although I understand the countryside is beautiful. I always hated going to open houses where the people were still in the house, I just felt to weird looking in people's homes while they watched me look around lol. When are you due?? Does the little guy have a name yet? Maybe when you get settled we can meet for dinner. Have a great Mother's day next weekend.

I am scheduled to deliver this little one on September 5th by C-section. My actual due date is my birthday (September 17th.) As for a name, I let daddy and grandpa pick it. He will be Connor Michael. We have a tradition in our family to name all the males with the middle name "Michael" after my husband "Tony Michael." Both our boys have it and now Connor will too. Our daughter and older son say they will keep with the tradition and name theirs sons the same. I guess all families have some sort of tradition.
That would be great to meet up for dinner one night after were settled in. I'm going out to Murrieta this weekend to look at about 8 houses. Three out of the 8 have swimming pools. Not sure that's a hassle I want to deal with. My friend who lives out there said he spends $70 a month on a pool service. I spend more then that on our gardeners. Just don't know if I want the stress with having 2 little ones that don't know how to swim. Two of the pools have gates around them. Maybe those, I might consider, but still not sure. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the rest of the house looks like. My thing is the kitchen. Probably because I spend so much of my time in it.
As for wine, it definitely is an acquired taste. A glass of red wine a day is good for your heart. I haven't yet developed a taste for red wines, but I'll start trying once I have the baby. I hear beer is the same way. That's one acquired taste I could do without. Especially the kind my husband drinks. He's Irish, so he drinks all that dark, thick stout. Yuck!!

Also, the upkeep is outta site from what I hear, for the heating and such and water bills. I think that is sweet that the lil guy will have his daddy's middle name. Hemet is still pretty small, but it is growing, lol never thought I would be so happy to see an Olive Garden . Talk to you soon.

My husband wanted to try this milk stout. Couldn't find it here in California, but did find it in Iowa. It cost me $18 for a six pack. That was with shipping and handling. He thought it was just okay. Not as good as he'd heard it would be. He got me to try it, saying it tasted like a mixture of coffee and chocolate milk. Yeah right. Tasted like thick beer to me. I'll just stick with my wine and Bacardi breezers. I think that's what they're called. Been so long now since I've had one.
My friend just got a house in Menifee. We started to look out in Winchester, but changed our minds about the location. We want to try and stay as close to the 15 as we can. Are there any good lakes out in Hemet? My husband wants to buy some jet ski's someday. I hear the Colorado river is the closest river where you can ride them. I know there's got to be somewhere a little closer then that. Since we won't be buying them for a long while, I guess we still have time to find places to ride them. In the meantime, we'll just rent like everyone else does. I still can't wait to get back on one. They are so much fun.

Well Theresa, I'm happy to say we sold our house and are buying a house in Murrieta. The closing for the house we're selling is July 20th. Closing for the house we're buying is July 14th. I know you usually close the house your selling first, but we really need to get in and take care of some stuff before we move in. The previous owners lost the house to the bank and left quite a mess of bleach through out the entire house. We need to re-carpet everything. It needs some painting, and a good cleaning too. Other then that, it's a beautiful home. We're excited to get into the house and get out from under this horrible loan. I'm just glad it only took us 2 months to sell our home. I hear there are some homes that have been on the market for many more months then that. Time is flying by so quickly. There just isn't enough hours in the day.
I hope everything's going well for you and your keeping cool. Goodness knows, I'm trying to. Can't wait for fall.

I'm e-mailing to let you know that my wonderful husband, James Osborne, passed away Friday, June 8. He was 38 (just like you guys!). He was struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his 13 years in the Navy (and other traumas). Even so, this shouldn't have taken his life. He went peacefully in his sleep Friday afternoon. If you could remove him from your address book, I would appreciate it - he would have loved to have come to the reunion last summer, but his job wouldn't allow it.

Gosh, I am so sad to hear about James. Deanna, James and I were all officers together in the New Life Club. Not too long before the reunion, he posted a message on the message board. I couldn't get over how much his son resembled him. The sadness his wife and children must be feeling are probably indescribable. The only comfort we can all have is that he's with our Lord Jesus Christ right now and someday they'll be united again. At last, he can now get the peace and rest he couldn't find here on earth. I pray that his wife and kids are surrounded by lots of family and friends to help them through this horrible time.

I just want to get moved in and settled before he gets here. I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone by. I still haven't seen deanna since I even got pregnant. Hi all, 87'er here...just read the posts and have some information on Marie Gottis and Mike Reddington. Marie died in an accidental apartment fire. Mike was killed in a "crime of passion" situation...I used to work with the mother of the girl he was seeing...apparently a jealous ex of hers shot Mike. Very sad.
We just had our reunion on 6/30 and everybody had a great time! Shout out to Ricardo and Nancy for putting it together. :-)

Hi Theresa. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your message. We were without a computer for more then 2 months. So glad to have the problem fixed. It's been nice getting in contact with all my friends again. The move to Murrieta was fine. We've been here since the end of August. Just in time for Mr. Connor Michaels arrival. The baby was born on September 5th at 6:05 pm. It went so smoothly and my recovery was so wonderful, I could do this all over again. But, because of my age (just turned 39 on September 17th) I better not chance it. Send me your email (pittsteelfam5@aol.com) and I'll forward you some pictures of the little guy. We really love Murrieta. It's so pretty around here and everyone is so nice. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. So, what's been going on with you?

Hi Theresa. It sounds like you've got it worse then us here in Murrieta. It's been about 104 these last couple of days. I hate to see what my electric bill is going to be. At least it's cool enough at night, that we only need our ceiling fans and the windows open. Actually, there is a really nice cool breeze at night. I'm just hoping it's not as hot here this summer as it was last summer. But if it is, it still won't be quite as bad as it was last summer when I was still pregnant. Other then the heat, how are you doing? We're just getting ready to move, once again. We're buying a house that's a little closer to Temecula. With the interest rates and prices for these homes, we couldn't pass this opportunity up. This new house is only about 300 square feet larger then where we're at now, but has a much larger yard. If all goes well, we'll close escrow on the first of July. The kids are not looking forward to the move. They feel like we jusy barely moved. Hey, Iguess we just did barely move. Hopefully, this will be it for a long while

It's great that Leuzinger's Class of 1986 has this site to call home. The only sad thing is that your alternate sight was not fully utilized and visualized to its full potential. It went offline in September 2008.
If you could get rid of all these needless advertisements that have nothing to do with your reconnecting old friends and classmates, visitors could concentrate on the memories and good times that you have to offer.
I wish The Class of 1986 continued success. If there's anything I can do, just look for me on Leuzinger's Class of 1981 Website.

Dan, Thnx for letting me know about Mrs. Mercurio (Kindergarten) -- she was my very 1st Teacher & she made my transition in a new country much easier. The World was made better by the countless lives she impacted (like so many teachers!). I'm sure her family knows what a blessing she was.
As for the loss of James Osbourne, I'm saddened by his family's loss. We became friends during Jr High, & he was always nice. I didn't know he served in the Navy. A grateful Nation mourns, regardless of his circumstances. Thanks for your service, James! I salute you.

Hey all how are you? I am just checking in. I got a call from David Edwards a couple of days ago. Then thru him Shelli Polling(class of 87) called with he girl sha-sha. I had a good time talking to them. As for me I am just turning the big 40 and doing well in the Army. I will be graduating this coming week from Officer canidate school to be a leutinant. I am going to shoot tanks and go out and find the enemy first(calvary). So I will ride the train for another 10 years or so.
To Theresa, my god be with you as you battle for illnesses. I have asthma so I know what you are going through from time to time. To all I say Hello and Happy Valentines Days. I hope that you all have a good day with the one you hold so special.

Thank you Gus. I have had Lupus since I was 21 and so the asthma has just been a fun additive. Stay safe. We love and appreciate all that you and your fellow soldiers do to keep us and our way of life safe. WE LOVE YOU!

Wow, Mr. Cameron was bar none my favorite teacher from Leuzinger - I googled him to try and get in contact with him again - and now see that I am too late. I graduated in 2000 (doubt they have anything setup to keep in touch as well as c/o '86 does!) I was in Cameron's AP History class the year he retired. Unfortunately, Leuzinger nor the Centinela Valley Unified School District treated him very well. Characteristic of the man we all remember him as, he did not stay silent about his misgivings about the way things were run - as evidenced by the article he wrote that was published in the Daily Breeze newspaper about CVUSD and to some degree, Leuzinger as well. I really wish I kept that article. Despite the air horn and his occasional sideways jokes berating the misfits of our class, I loved the guy. Although the things I learned in AP History have since escaped my memory, I will always have fond memories of his class. He never scared me. To me, he was genuine, caring, honest and funny as hell. I will miss him dearly.

Andre, how are you after all these years. Truth be told I always thought you had guts to be in modern jazz class. Glad to see you are still hanging in there after all these years bro. Stay up.

I'm Great! I graduated last week. Finally! I am thinking about coming out there for a visit. I want to go to the beach and hang out with the kids.Just this last week I have heard from Scotty and Ricky so I want to see if a big group wants to pick a date. What do you think? And I have not had time for a facebook, Shannan has one. Maybe now I will have time. I miss you!
