Kathy and I will do INSPIRATION grounding together. We are meeting on Sunday morning. So don't be worried if you don't see it posted before then :)

Welcome back, Ellen! Yes, Debbie, you are correct. Rachel is taking care of the two below and the only one left is Don's. Don, what we did for many of the sections was copy/revise what we had on our introductory pages and then add the necessary grounding. (Why reinvent the wheel, right?) Some of us rewrote the paragraphs, too. We should all cite the same way and I will check out the link Rachel gave us on the QT (all the info. for each citation is there-it just needs to be arranged the correct way). Thanks!

Busy busy! Thank you for going through and working out so many kinks. Our 8th grade trip was great. Now back to TEAM. I will follow the instructions you all listed.

Erin I am reading the Quick Topic and seeing that everyone will write their own grounding and that is great. I am assuming that I do not have to make any further changes. Am I understanding correctly?
Is it possible that you change the sitation to match Rachel's?
Does Don know that he should make Polaris Grounding?

Yes Erin - I will get to the grounding for CONVERSATION and INSPIRATION (easy b/c North Star and Fablevision are our grounding and Kathy has some great stuff she got recently from them) - I will certainly call on you for help/proofing at some point. And, I will proof for you as well. Where is Margaret Hayes when you need her? EVERYONE: I believe we are supposed to use an official citation style. I am most comfortable with MLA and used it in my dev portfolio. I will use it in my grounding. Maybe we all want to be the same or find a spot near your grounding to say which you used?

Allrighty then! I figured it out. I put the first part of the revised mission page up and when Ering sends me the rest I will finish it up.
Thanks for all the help tonight Erin. Thanks for the laughs Sarah!

I saved files and then did a get. I thought I put the mission page up. But when I looked at what I got it does not reflect the changes. I still have the page that we worked on but I cannot put it up and then see the reflected change. Is there something that I need to do different because of the frames. This is the page that is due on May 7th so what should I do?

Great job team! Thanks for taking care of that, Rachel, Kathy and Faye! It is awesome! I will follow the directions below very carefully:) As Debbie said below, I will go ahead and send her something to post to the Why with grounding for each of our sections, starting with/basically using what is already stated on the various "index" pages of each section. I think Reflections, Journeys and Actions are already posted. If you would rather compose/post your own paragraph, go for it and just let me know. Otherwise, I don't mind doing it if you want me to. Then that section will be complete. (Rachel, we could use your proofreading skills and maybe some editng with the citations in the What and Why.) Sarah, I will touch base with you tomorrow and maybe stop by to finish up our links and stuff...

Sorry I had to leave class early. I checked everything on my end and it looks great. Thanks for taking care of this issue in the manner that it was taken care of. I think if everyone feels comfortable this is good.
Erin I will be waiting for your e mail so that the mission page can be completed. I put up the new mission page but there are more changes to be made. Erin said she would orchestrate the changes and then I would put up the total and complete page.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: Faye helped us reorganize our site to make the best use of the frameset. Please: 1)save all of your local files to a backup file that will not connect with the server 2)make sure that your local file is totally empty before you do a GET of all the newly PUT files on the remote EXCEPT: Erin and Debbie if you have the latest version of the missionindex based on work you did in class tonight - you will want to PUT that over the older one that is there right now 3)GET the entire site from the remote 4)go to the pages you created/are responsible for and check all your links - everything should come up in the frameset 5)report any problems to me and/or Faye
We did a lot of reogranizing and you will notice that within the site there are file folders for each main section of the site. You may wish to move your pages and files into those. Just try to keep it all organized and ask Faye about how to properly delete from the remote and put the newly organzied files there. This could be risky, but may be worth it.
Kathy and I hope that everyone is pleased with the new organization and the use of the framesets. We worked with Faye to do our best to be very careful with everyone's hard work.
Looking forward to hearing from you all as to how it looks and feels . . .

Thanks, Debbie. We also have to check out the first and last paragraph of the Why...the first one uses a quotation without citing it (I happened to recognize it in an article I read- and we were not sure about it last week) and the last one has "no home." Then some cutting and pasting...And we should be done:) Is the assessmant different from before?

Donna is going to help us this evening so we can move ahead. I agree Erin that we need to finish up. The Action section of the why sounds great. I put the assessment up and hope it is what we discussed on the Wiki.

I agree with all that has been said and think we do need to make some decisions and clarify things. Like Heidi, I have changes/additions for the Why (and Sarah and I have changes for YIA) but have not posted for fear of messing something up. I understand that we are all invested in this and will not all be together next week either. So...we need to set all of our mental models aside tonight and come down off of the ladder of inference and come up with a way to get this done. (Go STL!) Corny stuff aside, I am going to post the action section (with grounding) of the why here and maybe everyone should do that for their own sections, too. Then it can all be copied and pasted into the Why. Also, does our assessment need to change, or is it sufficient? WHY: Action: Action showcases the accomplishments and endeavors of individuals and groups of people who are trying to make a difference in our world, on both the local and global level. Links are provided to learn about these leaders and their causes, organizations, and missions, as well as how to become involved in promoting change. Such an approach connects the worlds of school, work, and community, encouraging practical applications of learning both in and across traditional disciplines. It brings together people from these places and from institutions of higher learning in genuine partnerships that benefit all involved. Most important, it casts young people both as leaders, who initiate ideas that take serious knowledge and skills to bring to fruition, and as apprentices, who learn from the experts how to carry out a task to a particular field's standards. (It Takes a Village, by Kathleen Cushman, Edutopia, Nov. 05, http://www.edutopia.org/magazine/ed1articl...t_1396&issue=nov_05) Visitors are given the opportunity to read reflections upon these highlighted actions and the invitation to contribute their own responses. (I know the citation needs to be diferent and wasn't sure if we were linking out.)
