I'm thinking about joining the TCRC and saw the membership fee is $15, then you can buy jerseys and pants at cost. What is cost and what would the cost be if you don't pay the membership fee...where is the clothing purchased and from whom. Lots of questions but still interested. Tkx for you reply.

Alan - awesome video of SA Omnium!! Thanks for taking time to do that! I'm with Dwandy - that'd be great promotional vid! Also liked the Chinquapin trail vid, good tunes there too......you sure nailed that trail quick!
As to the new member jersey question - you have to be member to wear the kit! Jersey is $45, bibs $60. Go to www.champ-sys.com for all the details. Submit membership app via TCRC webpage. Thanks.

What:Pre-Fathers Day Cookout Ride When: 6/20/09 Where: Faith Lutheran Church 2909 Weaver Pike, Bristol, TN 37620. If coming from 394 go just past the church and turn left into a gravel parking area beside the road. Don't park in the Church's paved lot. This link puts the marker just past the church it is actually just before the intersection of Weaver Pike and Bullock Hollow coming from 394 http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q...F8&t=h&z=16&iwloc=ATime: 9:00 AM Route: Holston, turn left in Shady go to Damascus (stop for coffee) return to Shady same route but hit Winchester road on the way back. Distance: 67 miles, 3-4 hrs +/- Pace: Group Sets Pace, hopefully at least 14MPH. Wait at intersections and tops of climbs for stragglers. Note: This ride has a lot of rolling hills and one long 5 mile main climb up Holston Mountain, gentle decent from Shady to Damascus, but climb this grade on the way back. Holston Averages 8%. Another Crosser's ride but non cross racers can come along as long as you don't cause any trouble.

I learned yesterday just what a helment could do.The doctor at the ER said it probably saved my life.I crashed at around 30 mph yesterday in the road race and the impact crushed and broke my helment in 4 or 5 places and left bruising imprints of the shape of the vents in the side of my head. But I didnt have a concusion or any serious head injury.I know its hot and somedays it may feel cooler to go without one this time of year but anyone thinking that should see my head and my helment and then think what my head would have looked like without it.If anyone has kids that hates helments I'll be more than happy to show them what can happen and why its important to wear one.I just wished I had as good of protection on my hip.I went down turning on to highway 85 on some loose sand and stones. It planted me into the pavement and broke my pelvis is two places so if anyone knows a good orthoptist I got to find one asap and hopefully I can figure out a way to get back on the bike sooner than later but today the pain is all I can take to hobble around on my crutches.I sure was glad for the Gainesboro EMS those guys where the best and where super quik to respond and get me out of the middle of the road and make the ride to Cookeville as comfortable as possible and all the staff at the Cookeville hospital they where fast, caring and the guy that stopped and helped me tile the EMS arrived and took my bike back to the start and also the sheriffs deputy for finding my dad and letting him know what was happening.I didnt get or remember any of there names but Isure did appreciate the help of strangers especially the guy that stopped and helped first because I went to get up and get on the bike and fell face first on the road in pain and couldnt get myself out of the road.He went way out of his way for me and I wished I knew who he was.I hope everyone else had a great weekend of racing and all the dads had a great fathers day today.Hope to be back riding soon.

Jason I am sorry to hear about your accident but wish you a speedy recovery. Pat Riggins or Mark Aiken are excellent Orhto's. I really like Dr. Riggins since he is a cyclist himself and has an understand of cycling related issues. If I can help you in anyway just give me a call. (276)594-8369 or (423)245-2078.

Hey Jason, That's a tough lick to take. Sound like you did what ole' Floyd did a few years ago. Hopefully it's not to bad and we'll see you out, if not on the road, then maybe at cyclocross. Good Luck.
PS: I'm with you on the helmet. I've had three bad wrecks in the last 16 years all of which involved hitting my head. Each time there would have been serious injury or death.
