The Gate City chapter of the Tri City Road Club(hee hee) will be doing a Tour d' Possum Creek training ride at 6:00 pm this Thursday. Everyone of course is welcome. The pace should be pretty fast so bring fresh legs!

And Tim, I'll still see you Friday at 11:30. I'll probably be relocating to Knoxville soon so hopefully you can give me the inside scoop on some Knoxville rides.

Anyone going to race the hill climb in Asheville friday evening @6pm ?

I realize that there is a BAR race in Dayton, TN the weekend of the 4th. However, I also wanted to let everyone know there is a race in Roanoke and Blacksburg, VA as well (Friday crit, Sat TT, Sunday Crit).

When: 6/28/08

Where: Starting at Darryl Muck's house (2344 Pendragon Rd, Kingsport, TN 37660)

Time: Ride STARTS @ 7:30am

Route: Tour de Possum route

Distance: 60+/- miles (3+/- hours)

Pace: 19+/- mph avg

Notes: Park on the street in front of Darryl's house or in the end of the Ridgefield Country Club parking lot across the street near Darryl's. It's approx. 9 miles from Darryl's house to Yuma school where the TdP route begins. Anyone wanting to start from the school, be ready to ride by 8:00am. Ride is dependent on weather.

Any Sunday morning ride this weekend?

Saturday ride folks-
  Will there be a slower group? I've never done this route before, but if it's in the mountains, I don't forsee me being able to go 19mph......and I'm not about to hold anyone up. Mary Ann knows all too well.

Route: Lots of rollers, Holston Mtn, Shady Valley, the other Iron Mtn, Spear Branch ( Steeeep) and either return via Holston Mtn, or Stoney Creek.

 

Distance: 70-75+/- miles (5+/- hours)

Notes: Long ride with several difficult climbs. Ride is dependent on weather.
