What's the plan? What steps will you personally take to spread technology integration in the Brunswick School Department? What steps would you like to see the organization take?

As an administrator, I need to insist that building tech meetings are held during a time I can be there. PET meetings are held at the same time, and I am required by the district to chair those meetings. Not sure how I can attend both, but will need to work with the tech coordinator at my building.

The first step will be to redefine the mission of the current district's Tech. Committee. Do we have the "right people on the boat"? How does their focus need to change? In what ways?
A restatement of the vision is key. Although it has been said many times, many ways...it needs to be said again...and again...and again...
We need to be sensitive to the needs of our teachers, encourage them to take the next step, and be there to support them with resources (time, people, etc.) along the way.
I think it is vital that the people in attnedance today continue the conversation. If the Tech. Committee will be charged to continue this work, then the work of the people here for these three days need to be shared.

The next steps in the plan for me would be to become involved in the building technology committee by not allowing the secretary to overwrite that meeting with other meetings. The next step that I would like to see the organization take is to develop means to allow time and money for a group (district tech committee or new committee) to develop a plan based on the work done this week and that includes support and accountability.

I would like to see the Administration take a leading role by keeping technology integration alive. This means that it has to be a part of every new curriculum and assessment development plan. Technological integration needs to stay alive through regular and consistent programs (mentors, role models, prof development activities, etc.)
Personally, I will continue to challenge myself to integrate more technology. I'm already hooked and have integrated for years with every single unit, HOWEVER, there is SO much more out there. I only wish I had more hours in the day. I will continue to go to ACTEM conferences and be willing to share projects and skills with the staff.
As a District Tech Committee member, I will help bring our 3 day work into our goals and plans and take an active role in helping us all realize these goals.
I will go home and buy some new gadgets and show my own kids some new cool things to do on the computer.

I will continue to challenge myself as a learner of tech. Allot time, help support teachers and share my successes. I would like to see regular professional time alloted as well as enough resources available to reach the next level.
