UNTITLED
This morning dawned so crisp and bright, Yet still the wind blew, out of spite, The rain did fall upon my head, I wished that I'd stayed home in bed.
At work the hours passed oh, so slow, Before the clock said, 'time to go', I slog my guts out every day, But manual work just doesn't pay.
The week has passed and playtime's here, And all I do is drink more beer, What happened to my former life? It must have left me, wae the wife!
The kids she took and moved away, I'll maybe see them Saturday, I sit alone and wonder why, My life has surely passed me by.
And then my mind begins to stray, A writer, I could be one day, It's not too late to start anew, So that's exactly what I'll do.
A smile has spread across my face, My heart is beating with such pace, When I hit 'send' then this will go, To all the readers of 'Now You Know'.
