Oof, you're right about World of Warcraft. I've avoided MMORPGS for years because they seemed like a lethal time-sink, but my fiancee Heather started playing WoW a few months ago and I gave in shortly afterward. It's insanely fun, but I have to keep an eye on myself, make sure I do my night's writing before I start playing, make sure I log off occasionally to get some real physical exercise, etc. I tell myself that the time spent playing the game is time I would normally spend laying about reading magazines or watching crap television, and that it's not cutting into my writing time at all, but the rationalization sounds hollow even to myself...

Agreed about Neverwinter Nights, too. Thought it was great fun.

MMORPGs scare me. I have a friend and his wife, who both play EQ (I'll shorted to save the suing) - he's a mature student, she's a... I really have no idea.

They must both spend 6-10 hours EACH, every day on MMORPGs. And after they've played any new game for a matter of weeks - it just becomes a well animated maths puzzle. They know how to manipulate the numbers, they know times, areas...

But try to get the SoB to work his own personal bank account out!
