Hola Cocolo,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Most picnic festivities were decided for Sundays after the results of a survey conducted a few years ago. We asked the community what day would be best to have activities. Many people worked on Saturdays, some of the events that we held on Saturdays had a low turn-out so the majority of the votes leaned towards Sundays.
However, this past weekend there were festivities both on Saturday and on Sunday. We give everyone plenty of notice for the dates of these activities and everyone is welcomed to send their suggestions on the chosen date. We encourage you to become a Member, if you are not already one, and keep in mind that there are currently openings on the Board in which you can get involved.
You can send us any other concerns or if you wish to discuss this further to prscaz@aol.com

Dear Friends,
Once again, our community joined together to celebrate and rejoice our latin culture. We had a great turn out at our Spring Picnic on Sunday and the "Festival del Platano" on Saturday, was also a great success. In addition to our beloved Boricuas, our brothers and sisters from Mejico, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Santo Domingo, Peru, and USA honored us with their presence and solidarity as well.
The Puerto Rican Social Club of AZ, Inc. (PRSCA) wants to THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU all for participating and for your endless support. Without you, these activities would not be possible.
Our special thanks to others leaders in our community for their support and for saying "Presente", also to DJ's Ray and Ray for providing great music, Enkanto, for their great, lived performance, our vendors Howard & Lydia with Rican Gifts Store, Nury Hernandez with Mofongo, Luis & Grisell Lopez and their mom ( what a trooper she was! cooking non-stop from 10:30 - 6:00 pm) and Jamie and Nancy Acevedo from El Coquito Catering (yes! great coquito!).
Last but not least, we had a special appearance from the Phoenix Fire Dept., Station 32, group of Firefighters, lead by one of our own Boricuas, Ardell Deliz, who joined us for the festivities and were so gracious in distributing hats and goodies to all of our children. You guys were awesome and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your service and dedication to our community in general!
If you missed any of these events, don't worry, there is more coming your way! Please continue to support these activities so we can keep our culture alive!
Arizona Upcoming Calendar:
The PRSCA will have the Fall Picnic on Sunday, October 19, 2008 (park to be determined) and Christmas "Noche de Gala" tickets are now for sale. The dance will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Terrace Green in Mesa. MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

I know a bit of back end administration for a website and apparently we need someone that can keep the site up to date. Event pictures are old, the calendar hasn't been updated in quite some time, sponsorships are minimal... Etc... How can I help? jeannettemontano@gmail.com
