Kathy got 2 rooms in Crowne Plaza as well (Kathy, Jeannine, & Meg/ Rachel, Sarah & Erin). Looks like that is going to be the place to be! Also... Rachel has a reservation in Four Seasons that she is going to cancel unless someone is interested in it. She'll hold it until tomorrow just in case- let her know.

Yesterday I read that people were going for Crowne Plaza so I made a reservation there for Linda, Nancy and me. I was able to get in. We have until April 1 to change so we can discuss in class tomorrow.

Kathy spoke with Tony at NECC reservations and got four rooms at the Westin. 1 for Rachel, Erin, Sarah another for Kathy and sisters, the third for Linda and ?, fourth is up for grabs - first one to get in touch with Kathy/Rachel gets it (Bruce where are you?) $235 per night (3 to 4 to a room, hmmmm....) Also, more rooms at this hotel may become available closer to April 1st - the deadline for no fee cancellation.
Rachel is planning to cancel her reservation at Four Seasons because she'd rather slum it with her pals. If you get in touch with her she may be able to help someone switch the reservation to another name.
We will post if we hear from anyone.

I went through online housing at the NECC site and was able to book a room at the Four Seasons for myself, Sarah and Erin. When Kathy tried to do the same thing, she was blocked out! She is now on the phone trying to book a room and/or group of rooms directly. As soon as she is through will post the results of her call.
On my own reservation I put TEAM as my "company name" and student as my title. I also put in a special request to be near other TEAM rooms. This may help us if we all put TEAM as our company. Who knows!
Any news on the bus?

I called the woman at the Crown Plaza and she said that she can not do anything with room coordination until June 3 after the registration closes down. That we should call her then to see if the special requests for joined rooms or rooms in the same area are honored. I think each group should just register for their room and ask for a room by other EE Team rooms.

We are all waiting on the rooms until we hear what is available?
No decision yet on the bus?

I'm excited about our road trip too! Just waiting to hear about room availability. Thanks to those who have done the leg work so far.

Bruce - I'm so glad I saw your message before it got censored (was it fear of the Patriot Act?) because it really made me laugh.

I spoke to Kathy quickly this afternoon and she mentioned that the woman from the hotel hasn't called her back yet. Just thought I would let you all know.

I gave the hotel task BACK to Kathy. She was going to try to call the hotel directly (I got the name of the person who books conference stuff) today and book a few rooms for all of us if she could get the same price per room as on the NECC online housing ($195 per night/per room for a triple). I'm sure once she does she will post the info here.

Linda-I didn't get your email about Crowne Plaza. Did you email me? I just registered for the conference today. It was pretty easy. By the way I would love to still do the bus if people are interested.

Thanks, Rachel. We'll leave this a student conversation space, in case some of you want to make plans to room together, take the bus, or carpool if we don't have a bus, and so on.

Your instructors for the course will be in touch with you in a couple of weeks, helping lay out the course and how you might organize your trip. In the meanwhile, just register and make hotel reservation and decide on the bus or not.

This is going to be great!

Kathy, Erin, Sarah, Linda - we didn't end up booking anything yet - we wanted to try to get rooms together and it doesn't seem like you can do that through NECC's online housing. I'm planning to call directly today.

The online registration didn't even ask for our student ID# or school. We did need our ISTE member number. If you are already a member you can find that on your address label on your Learning & Leading with Technology journal. If you are not a member, I think there is a combo of membership/registration on the online registration, but I'm not sure. They also let you register by phone.
At this time, Erin and I only registered for the conference itself. We didn't go for any extra stuff. It seems that they let you re-enter your registration and add stuff later.
Once you register for the conference you can make hotel reservations through the online housing on the NECC site.
Erin and I put Kathy in charge of reserving our rooms. When we have reservations we will post our hotel info.

Erin called NECC and TEAM students are eligible to register as students for the reduced student registration fee. Thanks Erin!
