Hi Annette, How good to hear from you - and back in the UK - that is wonderful. I'm sure we'll meet again sometime, even though I am now based in Frodsham.
Elaine - yes I can make the next meeting.
Liz - are you still out there somewhere?
Everybody - and especially Val - we just had the opening of the refurbished Church Hall this weekend and to celebrate we had our 10am service in the hall instead of in church. At the beginning of the service and during the intercessions there was this fabulous image projected onto the wall. Drawn by someone called Val Fryer - anyone heard of her!!!?
Val - any chance you can email me the image? I could use it a lot. It's the one with the footwashing scene encapsulated in God's hands and the cross above it.
Love to everyone, Kath

How fantastic! I have asked Alan to pass your request for prayer to the prayer chain people so they will be on the case as well.
Hope to catch up sometime soon

Hi everyone, another blast from the past!! Lukas and I had moved back to the UK and moved in with the grandparents whilst Rob is still in Switzerland and visit us every week-end. Lukas have just completed his first week at Stretton Day nursery!! This was an answer to our prayers to get him in there and he is loving it! I am traveling like mad all over the world for the next six weeks and really wanted Lukas to be settled and the help of grandparents...then we will start looking for a house, a new job for daddy so that he can move back too etc. Prayers will be appreciated as it is a chaotic time but little Lukas is sleeping with a smile on his face and that is our number one priority at the moment. Hope to see everyone soon once all the dust has settled...Lots of Love. Annette, Rob and Lukas. (Thanks for the prayers Elaine & Peter - a miracle got Lukas into our first choice of nursery and provided much needed child care - now can we please have a new house, jobs....just joking!)

Hi,
Thanks for the emails. We are busy and the main challenge is to make sure I get a day off! Nicola has started driving lessons so I may yet be transported in the style to which I could become accustomed. In the meantime it improves my prayer life. We should catch up sometime soon for a meal but regards work, we have set a date for the development committee to be Tuesdfay October 3rd at the Vicarage at 7.30pm. Please come if you can make it.

Take Care
Love Elaine

Hi Everyone,
Just had to say how very much I valued the opportunities and challenges posed by our wonderful Parish Week-end at Scargill. So many people put so much time, effort and love into creating the experience it was that,as a parishioner,I wanted to say a huge "Thank You" !
Do we know how Jackie's interviews have gone?I so much hope that her vocation will be enabled, for she has so much to offer.
Thank you all for your hard work.It was so much appreciated.

Hi everyone, just a quick update from snowy Switzerland. All is well with Rob and I although I must say I can't wait to meet our little arrival now (due 8 April) and to have my body back! I will be in the UK on Sunday night, probably my last visit for a while and I will come to Church - can't wait! I need that hug again so where will everyone be - Elaine, Peter, Kath etc...St Matthews or St Cross? Love Annette

Hi everyone,
Hope your gas supply is fully functioning again,Kath! This is NOT the time of year to do without the Central Heating.I feel very out-of-touch at the moment because, for various family reasons,I've not been able to get to a service for some weeks.I'm hoping to rectify that this Sunday!
Have given all the details of Scargill,to Lindsay and Steve Grace, and they are thinking of coming along, but,as we both have canine friends to accommodate whenever we go away,it makes it a "dear do"!!Fingers crossed!
Look forward to seeing you soon,
LindseyX

How nice to see the site being used to keep in touch. (You can see how long ago it was when I last looked as I have only just noticed Lindsey and Annette's contributions this year). Its great to have more people use this facility - and it doesn't matter if you are in Switzerland, Alaska or anywhere in Cheshire!
I am stuck at home at the moment as there is a smell of gas and Transco have kindly cut off the supply. Am waiting patiently for British Gas - it is minus 1 degree outside but fortunately I have two very efficient electric fires. Mmmmm... time for a coffee, I think.

See you soon,

Thanks Lyndsey
There are still plenty of places left for the Scargill Weekend - and this year we have deliberately opened it to everyone in either parish. So if anyone would like to join us, the Parish Weekend will be from 21st to 23rd April 2006.

Hi everyone,

I agree with Lyndsey that this is just another way of reaching out and being in touch with our "Christian family". I just got back to Switzerland from a flying visit to the UK for Christmas - it was wonderful but too short and the brief hug of Elaine and Peter on Christmas Eve will have to sustain me for a while...I did not have much time to meet with anyone so just wanted to let you know that all is well and Rob and I wish you all a wonderful New Year full of love and happiness. Annette

Hi Elaine and Peter,
I've only just discovered this wonderful means of keeping in touch, and really enjoyed reading the previous messages.I feel a bit of a fraud using this site, when I know Liz and Annette have been so "Far flung"!Nevertheless, because I work full-time in Chester, this means that I can keep in touch, when phones get so busy. This way allows me time to reflect and communicate, rather than talk.
It was Ed who got me thinking,as,after the service this a.m.,I asked if the Parish Week-end was all booked up and he suggested I E-mailed you.Well,I searched high and low,but couldn't find your address,so I searched for our Web Site and found this!
I found the time at Scargill last year so amazing, that I'd really like the opportunity to come again. My Peter found it difficult, but he's happy to come along, knowing that there'll be no pressure exerted to participate in anything he feels uncomfortable with.He certainly gained a great deal from the peacefulness and time to reflect on things.
I've really rambled,so I'll leave you in peace, but,as it's hard to put very strong feelings and thoughts into spoken words,I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support, prayers and love which have supported me and my family over the last year. All of this has strengthened my absolute belief in the power of the Holy Spirit to turn lives around,if only we'll just let him in.Thank you all.
With much love from
Lindsey.

I'm finally back on Sakhalin feeling very travel weary. I don't know how you do it Annette! (I will e mail you re your forth coming move separately). Pete and I got back from our holiday with Chris (son)last Thursday. It was great being able to spend time with Chris AND that he had to stay with us the whole 9 days as there was nowhere else for him to go and nobody else for him to see! Pete and I both had tears in our eyes as we saw him off at the airport.(He left 2 days before us)

If any one reads this message before the faithcourse meeting tonight will they please say hello from me and that I hope everyone is well and happy!
All for now

I'm back in the UK 19th June to 8th July although I am taking a holiday in Cyprus during that time. Hope I can get to a faithcourse while I'm home and for that I'll be looking at June 20th or July 4th.It will probably land in the middle of those weeks!I have a list with the dates on it but I just can't lay my hands on it.
I've also just made contact with a lady who organises a car for those who want to go to the English service at the R.C. Church in town and I can start going along with them. There is a good rappour with this Church and the camp as we help them with charity work so I shall make enquiries to see if there is anything I can do to help.
Hope to see you all soon XX

Hi everyone, just back from the States. Liz, we had a great discussion about the DaVince code and we decided that it was too much for one session. Peter led a session on the DaVince code and the Bible. Tonight we are meeting again and I will lead "Mary Magdalene, the Church and Goddess Worship". I will email the notes to you.

Hi Alan. Fantastic to hear from you. If you email me piccies at kathlw@tiscali.co.uk, I'll add them to the gallery I am about to create. That applies to you all.
I hope you all don't mind the adverts that have appeared at the side. They are context sensitive and they have picked up on us mentioning Da Vinci, so we are getting lots of links to sites about this.
If its a problem to anyone, I can upgrade this site to the Pro version but it will cost some money - whereas this is free at the moment - hence the ads - that's what usually pays for free services on the Internet.
Alan  22
17-04-2005 09:51 AM ET (UK)
Many thanks for sending me the website details. It's great to be able to keep in touch when you are so far away.

Doreen and myself are fine and it's nice to be able to be with Sally again in Sydney, but I do also miss my Christian friends back home. I am getting to know quite a number of people at the local church here in Annandale, a friendly and interesting group.

You know I think this is the first time I've ever posted a message on a web site, I feel quite proud of myself really!

Thanks Kath for your work on the site and thanks for the info about forthcoming Monday night sessions - I'll have to read up about Da Vinci. Interestingly, they have had a session on 'De-coding the Da Vinci Code' at the above church, unfortunately I couldn't make it.

Take care and God bless you all, I look forward to being with you again early May.

Hi,
Good to see the forum being used well. I will set up a gallery and put a link to it from St. Cross homepage. If you email me piccies, I will put them on.
Peter - do you want me to put the faith course stuff up there on the new site or teach you how to do it. If the first, then I will need to know the password for FTPing to the site - you can tell me when you next see me. It would be good to have links to this forum and the picture gallery on the faithcourse site and vice versa etc.... a little network of sites!
Just another thought - I will do a links page which has loads of useful links on for us. I have one myself that I use as my homepage.

Hi Kath,
Just a thought as I still can't sleep (I need to knock myself out!) the photo gallery is a great idea but what about a place where we can put the Faithcourse notes? That way Liz can share in what we are doing and I can also "catch-up" when I am away. Like Liz, I miss our discussions when I can't be at the meetings. I feel so guilty however in giving you and Peter more work - let me know if I can help in any way!! Love Annette

Hi Peter,
It is 6am and I can't sleep as my body is on some other time zone...it will be SO great to discuss the DaVinci code! I will be at the Faithcourse meeting on 25 April, can't wait to see everyone. Let me know if you want me to help prepare anything on the DaVinci code and when we are discussing it. See you soon. Annette

Glad to see you're back. Both Elaine & myself have now read the Da Vinci Code - Rebecca has now nipped off with the book, but I'll put together some notes as soon as possible ready for a Faithcourse discussion. I'll make sure that we discuss the controversial bits and don't discuss the plot! I'll also make sure that everyone can join in even if they haven't read it. See you soon.

I'm back to snowy Sakhalin on Friday, via Sapporo in Japan this time. Might as well see a bit of the East while I'm in the area!

Thanks, Jean.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to the fish and chip supper - I forgot I would be away with friends. I went to the Methodist Church's equivalent of Spring Harvest - it is called Easter People and it was at Southport. It was great. For those of you who were on the parish weekend, Jackie and Simon and their group Heptagon, were leading the worship in Southport Theatre every evening. Do any of you want to see pictures?
Talking about things away from home, have any of you thought of going on the lay conference? I went on one before I was ordained and it was great fun. Take the whisky for the evenings!!

Hello, I have just set up this discussion board and am going to link it to the St Cross website so we can all talk to each other and see the latest news from each other - we can post details of meeting dates etc.
If it's a success, I shall upgrade to one with more functionality.
Hope you enjoy it! Any problems, contact me.
