That is some great info., Ed! It's good to know that both examples of these are called Loop & Dart, but as you said it does cause a bit of confusion. If you are able to dig up any additional info., please share, and thank you for all of the great research you do!
Lisa :)

Was in a rush yesterday, and should have done a little more expanation of loop and dart, as there are other variations. They are very confusing and Diamond Ornament makes it even more so. I think the HJ 2955 should be called Loop and Dart with round ornament AKA: Portland Loop and Jewel. You take it for a table, at first glance, but look at the others it is pictured with it is smaller than most table salts, also has round balls around top. It is only 2 3/8" DIA, 1 7/8" HIGH, as I have one. I have been looking for good information on this pattern for my pattern research, and even the references I find disagree on name of some, and most are not looking at open salts, but at pitchers, creamer, goblets, etc.

Hi Empress, Thanks for letting us know that....I didn't realize they were for employees only and in limited amounts. Very interesting...

Hi Gang,
Found some very interesting information about the Avon Cape Cod salt in this ebay listing 220502142095
Hard to say whether it's true, but it certainly sounds plausible. I happen to have one of these, and mine has a six on the bottom - or it could be a nine, but I didn't want to stand on my head to look - LOL!!!

Both are probably correct. Made by more than one glass house. Yours is like smith and called LOOP AND DART WITH DIAMOND ORNAMENT. May have been made by Richards and Hartley.

Hi all! I have a question for those of you who are familiar with master salts. This salt I assumed was Loop & Dart, and found reference to it in the 8th Smith book ~ plate 344, identified as Loop & Dart. When I checked H&J they call #2955 Loop & Dart, but the photo of the salt in H&J looks nothing like this salt. Could someone clarify if the salt I have pictured below is indeed Loop & Dart, or if the one in H&J is, and which book made the error?
Lisa :)

Hi Nancy-- I love your birds, too. And I do think mine looks like Swarovski (or at least a Swarovski-wannabee).
And for the porcelain pig, I think the suggestion of a porcelain spoon with a curly tail is probably right. And I will have fun looking for one at future shows.
Would the mustard have been the dry type or the prepared type?

This is my bird bath that my mother got me before she passed away. It is similar to Cathy's, except it has a mother bird and two little ones.
