The most interesting part of the feature came at the end: "Of course I could have called tech support, but I never found the numbers online, or wasn't able to reach them. Besides, we're in Europe here, so I don't expect to see a tech support department helping for real :)" Years back, I worked in tech support for AoL. Frustrating, as the level of support was tailored to the level of incompetence you'd expect from an AoL customer. Generally customers were friendly, but of those who were downright hostile and abusive, a high proportion were... Americans. Their methodology seemed to be "If I've done something really STUPID, then by heaping abuse on tech support, I can make out that it's their fault AND their responsibility to fix it." That was a while ago - AoL 5.0 was just being phased out and replaced by AoL 6.0. But it seems that attitudes haven't changed much in the intervening period.
