I am proud of the under 21 team. I think that we have come a long way, and in time, we'll grow and adapt to the dynamic transitions within international hockey. I believe the best way to develop would be to grasp some exposure on the international circuit. Having completed this, I am sure y'all will do an excellent job in the CAC games.
Looking foward to returning home for some serious hockey once more. Until then, caio.

Paul Gascoigne why are you so protective of the board? You encourage people to express themselves freely but refrain from abuse of the board. Some times a little abuse can do a whole lot of good. Even the leaders of the nation get abused when we think things aren't going the way we would like them to. Allow free speach so that our sport will grow. Stop the covering up.

Try the above mentioned link. If that doesn't work - go to Southwest indoor soccer stadium (google search). Houston Int'l plays there every Sunday all year round. I doubt that you'd have probs but i'll check the board for your progress.

I hope the federation have fired the coach, manager and the rest of the staff to the cac games, for their dismal performances. They were extremely poor. That was jamaica's hockey at the lowest. The coach need to let go off Castelin's 1990 gold medal and try to go do some work on her own. The women have a nerve to speak about the men behind their backs. I hope the old fogies will now hang up their boots and allow the youths to take local hockey to a different level. The friend, friend business nah go work. If di adventists dem can't play on the sabbath den dem fi tan a dem yard,

The site is very boring because, it seems as though St Andrew high skools is the only school that plays hockey, all the pictures and news is about St Andrew, newsflash they hardley win, in order for Hockey to be more reconizable in Jamaica the committee need call upon the other young talents that DEDICATE themselves to hockey, let the old people play club hocekey and stop training them for nationals.Stop exculding a child because of the school they attend ,they have talent and thats what Hockey needs to be reconizable.I love hockey but thew committee turns me away from wanting to train for nationals.FAVOURTISM is a disease and it's spreding in Jamaica Hockey.

Shawna US you are so wrong about the pictures of St. Andrew high schools. You should not let your bias cloud your vision. There is only one picture of a St. Andrew team on the site and that is of the U16 team who won their competition. I was at the match and Papine gave them a good run for their money. As a matter of fact St. Andrew won on penalites after theams drew 0-0 in regulation.
As to your view on "Old" people remember one day you will get there. Who would you rather send to represent your country? someone young and their game is not yet ready or someone with years of experince that still out-plays players half their age?
You love hove and that's good, keep playing I may see you on the national team one day. Never give up..

ODO check the site again, why you not comment on favourtism?.Even if the went and represent the country they will get the experince and maybe inspiration to train harder ,think about it who likes losing.why is it whenever other schools win competions they are not on the site only a single picture of them recieving their award?don't get me wrong the veterans got game all i'm saying is give the youths a chance, the site is still boring in need some spice, either curry or paprika (lol) mi nuh know something fi mek me wah read it.

February 15th is the cut off date for entries for the 2008 Junior Pan Am and the 2009 Pan Am Cups male and female and the INdoor Pan Am cup is 2008. IS the JHF interested in registering teams to partake in these tournaments???????? The Presidents report of 2007 makes promise of more international exposure. The time is now ripe. A successful indoor was held last week (UWI) so the indoor game also needs to develop alongside the outdoor game. Preparations need to begin now!!!!!!

Just to clarify, the JHF recently had a Council meeting held on January 12th in which a majority of clubs and their executives were present. It was a successful and constructive one at that. A lot of information was openly shared in between council members and the BOD.
Please consult your club for further updated information for the calender year and / or address your concerns via jhf@carinet-jam.com. I would be more than happy to respond to your queries.

The JHF seems committed to enter as many International tournaments as is financially possible. The first thing which we all know is that funding is a critical factor. We can always commit to entering competitions every single year, because its just a statement supported by filling out some forms. Secondly, funding will not fall like Manna from the sky, but will be the result of commited and dedicated actions over sustained periods. Not one or two years, or the writing of letters to companies, nor chiding and proding the Board and the respective Fund Raising Committes. It requires character, trustworthiness, and moreso, uncompromising involvement with the process when we have the ability and capacity to contribute to what we purport to love. Nicobenz's wishes should be one of the things we consider when going to sponsors for support. Not just at the national level, but even as clubs seeking help. If our respective club has young players who have talent which we want to harness and maintain for the long term, we should examine ways of allocate some of the funds we received for scholarships to Secondary & Tertiary institutions. With an innovative approach this can be achieved. The fraternity of hockey have a lot of business minds who can help individual clubs to structure them when the opportunity arises. Persons like Fabian Stewart, P.D & Bobby Chin, Ryan Whyte, Maj Roderick Rowe, Kingsley Morris, Myrtle Weir, Carol Sewell, Judy Bloomfield, Glen Patrick, Dana-Mae Crawford, Roderick Lue-Shing, Paul Gascoigne, Dennis Lallo, Lloyd Butler, Tricia Castriota and many others are more than capable to guide these opportunities. We must think outside of the "D" when we play hockey, and the same is the case on the BUSINESS end. SELAH..... 5PROGRESS
