Surely it is the future? One gadget that combines phone, music player, PDA, mini games console. Battery life for these things is improving.
How would you feel about a music shop selling such gadgets on the premis that they are music players?

Yes, I'm rather with you, there.
Actually, that's the main reason I like the idea of the IXI Mobile (www.ixi.com) Personal Mobile Gateway. The wireless bit is clipped to your belt. The "phone" is a Bluetooth handset, which talks to the PMG.
And if you want to play games, or MP3s, you take a little game console, which talks to the PMG, or an MP3 player, which links to the PMG.
The only problem is: too many things to remember. One phone, and you'll almost certainly take it with you. Three bits... maybe not.

The problem of using a phone as an MP3 player is that the camera serves a very important function as an emergency device. Would it be ironic that as a person wants to call 911 or someone on an emergency, they found out that their phone does not work because the battery had died from using it as an MP3 player?
This is where combining music players (which are continuously played) and phones make little sense. I don't like playing the Java games on my cell phone becaus of this issue. It is better in this circumstance to have two gadgets rather than one.
