Yes Joe, I had a feeling that list of students might have come from the alumni.net list, especially since Reinier was very careful not to post the student letters on the english site.

The hate group needed to make it look like Indians were complaining otherwise it would be too apparent it is all suspiciously ADULT male foreigners (most who happen to be white and have Catholic backgrounds, strangely enough) claiming to be sexually abused. Of course they could not get any reliable complaints from actual Indians so they had to make something up.

I'm sure CBI already knows all this.

You may want to make a screen capture of the archived saipages.com post because my browser sticks whenever I go onto that page and I can't get out for a while. I don't know if others are having the same problem.

On one hand he says people (including his own family members) have a right to "follow their faith" even if it means following someone who allegedly molested him! Now does this make sense? Would you tell your family members they should follow their faith even if the person they are following sexually abused you? I don't think so.

I was a student in Swami's school for many years, and I wanted to corroborate something that an earlier guestbook author named Srinivas wrote:

Needless to say, everyone I spoke with was shocked to hear about the website, and had no idea of its existence. They all vehemently denied any involvement with the site or its authors, and were enraged beyond words. In the end, they decided to follow Swami's example and not react. Our guess is that ex-baba found those names on some database of student names and without bothering about the truth, just listed them on the site.

This is yet another example of how the Anti-Sai hate group engages in outright deception with a complete and utter disregard for truth, and is so willing to engage in libel and slander and harm people's lives.

All we can do is pray that Swami have mercy on their souls, because they're in for many, many lifetimes of suffering. Let us not waste our righteous anger on them, but show them compassion and forgiveness.

Sathya Sai birthday celebrations begin

HYDERABAD: The weeklong 81st birthday celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba commenced here at Shivam Temple on Friday. People gathered in large numbers for the inaugural day celebrations that included spiritual and cultural programmes.

On the occasion, the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation organised a music concert by Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya and Subroto Bhattacharya apart from the seven-day free specialised medical camp for the downtrodden.

Under the Narayana Seva programme, the organisation members offered free food to slum dwellers of Leprosy Colony, Moula Ali.

The Mahila Vibhag also organised a special puja on the temple premises.

Celebrations will conclude on November 23, the birthday of Sathya Sai Baba.

I had the best dream last night, and I just had to share it with you my friends. I know that according to sb devotees when sb appears to someone in a dream, it is supposed to be very auspicious, important and meaningful. Well, last night I dreamed that I was climbing a very steep, rocky mountain. Next to me was sb. He was struggling very hard to keep his footing. His feet kept slipping out from underneath him and rocks kept falling out from under his feet. He just was not able to take any advancing steps forward, and he was quite disturbed at his lack of progress uphill. He was angrily shouting obscenities at me because I, however, had a very steady grip and easily climbed away from his evil grasp. He eventually slid all the way to the bottom where there was a black pit that contained no escape. I shuttered to think that he would have even dared to climb beside me.

When I met with another ex-devotee today, I shared my dream with her. She graduated with honors while studying psychology, which included many classes in dream analysis and interpretation. She told me that my dream was quite easy to interpret, and that it showed the reality that sb is definately "slipping and falling down the 'mountain'--that my dream was a prophetic one, indicating the truth about sb--that he is definitely losing his grip on life. His efforts to rule the world, ie. be the 'king on the mountain' so to speak, would not materialize. She also said that my dream showed how he's losing control of his bodily functions as well as his demeanor, and that in the end, he will very quickly fall to his death. Isn't that great! Just thought I'd share.

President to attend Sai Baba's 81st birthday


Puttaparthi (AP) Nov 17: Celebrations here to mark the 81st birthday of Sai Baba on November 22 will be attended by President A P J Abdul Kalam.

According to the district administration, the celebrations will start from tomorrow. Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will also attend the week-long celebrations that are expected to draw thousands of devotees from across the world.

Kalam will also attend the convocation and silver jubilee celebrations of Satya Sai University the same day.

Kalam to inaugurate indoor stadium

ANANTAPUR: A large number of VVIPs are reaching Puttaparti to participate in the 81st birthday celebrations of Satya Sai Baba on Wednesday.

President APJ Abdul Kalam is expected to participate in the celebrations Panchayat Raj and Endowments Minister JC Diwakar Reddy will receive him on behalf of the Chief Minister.

Apart from the President Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Karnataka Governor TN Chaturvedi and State Tourism Minister J Geeta Reddy are expected to participate in the birthday celebrations.

By Wednesday Puttaparthi is expected to be overflowing with devotees of Sai Baba from all over. The district administration and the Satya Sai Central Trust are making arrangements to accommodate the pilgrim rush.

Anantapur Range DIG N Jayarami Reddy, SP Stephen Ravindra and Collector D Kadmiel are camping in Puttaparti supervising the arrangements.

There is a heavy deployment of police force and mobile checkposts have been set up on the roads leading to Puttaparti.

The security at the newly built indoor stadium has been beefed up. The President is expected to reach Puttaparti on Wednesday afternoon.

He will inaugurate Sri Satyasai International Centre for Sports Indoor Stadium built at a cost of Rs 20 crore at the Satya Sai Deemed University.

He will also declare open a sports meet. He will participate in the Silver Jubilee Convocation of the Satya Sai Deemed University.

The President is expected to spend the night at Puttaparti and leave for Delhi on Thursday morning.

Regarding Paul Lewis' Newspaper Article, I have it on very good authority that it did absolutely nothing to change the minds or the plans of even one single Sai Youth participant. All of the UK Sai Youth Group went to Puttaparthi with the full blessings of his/her parents.

People are beginning to see through these baseless allegations, which are full of weasel-words like "claim", "if", "possibly", "maybe", "probably", "alleged", and various other words denoting exceptions and/or admissions of limitations to the allegations leveled against Sai Baba. These numerous weasel-words leave the allegations looking inconclusive at best and works of fiction at worst.

This is even more the case when one considers that Sathya Sai Baba has never been charged with any crime, has never been convicted of any crime and has never had even one single complaint lodged against him by any alleged victim (first-hand) in India.

DIVINE POLITICS: President, ministers, and justices of the Supreme Court were present at celebration of Sathya Sai Baba's 81'st birthday.
New Delhi: One of the interesting aspects about Sathya Sai Baba is the number of high officials and ministers who are his devotees. The list of his followers extends from politicians to ministers including former Prime Minister P V Narasimha rao, jurists P N Bhagwati, Chandrababu Naidu, Former Air chiefs and President A P J Abdul Kalam who were all present at the celebrations of Baba’s 81st birthday.


"Personalities like him create hope in the minds ordinary persons. This is something that we should respect," Tourism Minister Ambika Soni said.


Former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi says Sai Baba has showered him with spiritual security. "He has been doing lots of social work. All the money that comes to him from the devotees goes for the welfare of the people," Joshi said.


Dalit leader Ramdas Athawle who isn't really a Manuwadi doesn't mind Sai Baba's presence in the Hindu pantheon. "He is respected by people and his fame is growing by each passing year. Believing him is not about religion but about spiritual faith," he said.



In Parliament, the divine blessings of Sathya Sai are certainly wafting over many political heads. Ministers, president and justices of the Supreme Court have all beaten the track to get Baba’s divine blessings on his birthday.

SAINTLY SPEAKING: Sri Sathya Sai Baba is said to have 6-10 million devotees across the world.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba 81st birthday marks decades of an incredibly popular cult and charitable works and International appeal. His devotees now number, some say, 6-10 million. Despite many controversies and detractions is Sai Baba perhaps India’s most enduring saint? That was the big question of debate on the CNN-IBN show India 360 with Sagarika Ghose.

On the expert panel were Union Power Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde and President of Indian Rationalist Association, Sanal Edamaruku.

Sagarika Ghose: Mr Shinde, you have been Sai Baba’s devotee for many years. What does he mean to you?

Sushil Kumar Shinde: He is a great social reformist. When I was the governor of Andhra Pradesh, I had the pleasure of attending his 80th birthday function. But today I am in Delhi so I sent him a fax saying that we cannot pray for you but we ask you for blessings to serve the poor community of India. I have known him for 30 years. I met him first in 1974. I see him as a great personality.

Sagarika Ghose: What about the controversies that surround him and the personal allegations made against him?

Sushil Kumar Shinde: I think the controversies are just one side of the story. He has been devoting himself to the young community in the colleges and schools he has opened. He has opened hospitals as well as starting water schemes in districts. He is part and parcel of God. Even God was criticized many times. But they have proved to be great saints.

Sagarika Ghose: Mr Edamaruku, how do you react to him being an institution builder of many charitable institutions?


Sanal Edamaruku: Mr Shinde can be a devotee and Sai Baba setting up many institutions is not of dispute to me but when he starts claiming that he can produce things from thin air, he is a miracle worker, is when the questions spring up. When he says he can produce holy ash from thin air, I would say he is a fraud.

Sushil Kumar Shinde: But such strength comes from that kind of power. That power, whether it comes from Sai Baba or God, one has to find out. There are a number of people I have seen doing such things. I have seen Sai Baba’s miracles and experienced them. He has given me rings and lockets. One has to have faith. One can keep criticizing God and even a truthful person. But it depends on how you see it. I don’t believe in blind faith. Even though I don’t see him often, I believe in him.



Sathya Sai Baba: Reincarnation of God or social reformer?

 
 His 'creations' are most often rings, medallions, bracelets, necklaces, watches, fruit, sweets, food, money. Yet he says he can turn earth into sky and vice-versa, that he contains all powers in his hand and knows everything about everyone.

 
 It was said that instruments played on their own accord in his household when he was born.

 
 According to professor Narayana Kasturi (Sathya Sai Baba's official biographer), Sathya was conceived through a Virgin birth.

 
 His mother, Easwaramma, claimed that she found out she was pregnant after a huge sphere of blue light rolled towards her, merged into her and made her faint.

 
 On May 23, 1940 the young Sathya claimed to be the reincarnation of the fakir Shirdi Sai Baba and subsequently took the fakir's name.


Sagarika Ghose: But what is it about his message that makes it so universal? Is it because he gives things, he’s like a Santa Claus, giving free food and treatment, that makes people like him?

Sushil Kumar Shinde: Yes. Also, he’s a man sent in the name of saint. He is creating a new community that is educated. He is teaching technology and science and not religion.

Sagarika Ghose: Mr Edamaruku, the Union Minister for Power himself says that for him, Sai Baba is a reincarnation of God. That is faith. Should one unnecessarily be suspicious of faith?

Sanal Edamaruku: Faith without critical thinking has no meaning. Blind faith without sustainable and tangible evidence is questionable.

Sagarika Ghose: Mr Shinde, why do so many VIP’s get attracted to Sri Sathya Sai Baba?

Sushil Kumar Shinde: It is not because he gives jewellery. He gives advice. He replies to letters. It is a miracle because he has been giving advice to hundreds of thousands of people. How can he be a cheat?

Sanal Edamaruku: These are magic tricks that can be done by any small-time magician. All the things that he does, from producing ash to reading letters are simple tricks that have been shown so many times including by me and other magicians. It has been caught on camera and shown on many channels all over the world and he has been challenged to do it in fraud-proof conditions. I have challenged him too but there was no response from him.

Sagarika Ghose: Mr Shinde, Mr Edamaruku is asking why we have to accept someone as an incarnation of God if we want to accept him as a social reformer?

Sushil Kumar Shinde: I accept him in both ways, but more as a social reformer. God has sent somebody to do the job. I am not a blind-faith man. On one occasion I asked Justice Baghwathi and Nani Palkiwala, supposed to be the best brains in the country, about it. They told me with their experience that he has some power. I believe that he has some power. He is utilizing it not to destroy society but to do good for the society.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba's claims

 
 Observed to allegedly manifest vibuthi (holy ash), food and small objects such as rings, necklaces and watches.

 
Healing diseases and sometimes taking on the illnesses of devotees on himself.

 
 Levitation (both indoors and outdoors), bilocation physical disappearances, changing granite into sugar candy, changing water into another drink, changing water into gasoline, producing objects on demand.

 
 Changing the color of his gown into a different color while wearing it, multiplying food, controlling the weather, physically transforming into various deities and physically emitting brilliant light.


 
 Sathya Sai Baba refused to have his materializations investigated under experimental conditions because he felt that the approach used by critics was improper.
