Sathya Sai BabaThrough an unremitting e-bombing campaign, Anti-Sai Activists were able to con the US State Department into issuing an indirect warning against Sathya Sai Baba on their Official Department website (which never mentioned Sathya Sai Baba by name). Ex-Devotees even boasted on accomplishing the warning on their own websites. As of July 17th 2007, the US State Department REMOVED all indirect references to Sathya Sai Baba from their Official website ( Reference). Just as ex-devotees were able to con Unesco with their propaganda, they were able to do the same with the US State Department. Needless to say, Unesco later expressed regret and removed their press release from their website. The same now holds true with the US State Department. The truth is finally prevailing and the gutter tactics and smear campaigns waged by Ex-Devotees are finally reaching the ears of high ranking individuals and relevant organizations all around the world.

/m2972I don't think it's Robert Priddy. It sounds more like Conny Larsson or Reinier van der Sandt. Probably Larsson since he is posting Larsson's site. And we were NOT banned from Wikipedia, liar. We were only banned from editing the Sai Baba article. Both Joe and I went up against the anti-Sais, particularly Andries Dagneaux, who was trying to use Wikipedia to push anti-Sai propaganda for several years; probably being paid to game the article since he supposedly knew the wikipedia rules yet broke them religiously without consequence (and even with the blessing of other wiki moderators like willmcw) and Joe and I attempted to put a stop to it. Andries was also banned indefinitely from editing the Wikipedia article. Basically Joe108 and I were banned for being very vocal about the anti-Sai abuse of Wikipedia. You will notice Tony O'Clery willingly vandalised the Sai Baba article for days on end yet is still able to edit it if he wants. Can we say descrimination? Sanjay is missing in action (perhaps he has received a cease and desist notice) and so the other anti-Sais are stepping up their harassment and using Larsson in place of Sanjay. Apparently Sanjay Dadlani aka saibabaexposed is not allowed to post on Sai Baba message boards anymore for some reason but I am informed he has managed to sneak over to shahgols group where he thinks no one can see him unless they are a member and he has been posting there. Whoever, this wacko is, whether it is Priddy or Larsson, they are both pathological liars who should learn to take a very good look at their own sewer brains. The fact that they are so cowardly that they have to hide behind an anonymous name says it all. They are obviously not man enough to fight like a "man". And if Larsson or others have been bribing people to lie about Sai Baba, that is akin to a form of criminal conspiracy called racketeering. I'll go up against you anytime you ignorant cowards. Mostly from anti-baba people. People were posting with several names, also spamming the board, he says. I dimly recall that there were some very Intelligent posts by devotees "defending" baba. After a bit of time they gave up and chaos ruled. thus if Joe, or anyone else is interested, there is that link to it, above. freestone |

As a result of these types of tactics by Usedbybaba and O'Clery, they have attracted numerous psychologically unstable people who have also begun to create false stories on the internet, targeting Sai Baba and his devotees. Several of these people appear to have connections to neo-nazi groups and/or religiously intolerant atheists or evangelicals. In March of 2006 Tony O'Clery made posts under the username dingopl, pretending to be someone named "Paul" and tried to set up a meeting with a Sai devotee in the UK named Simon. I wrote Simon telling him the IP address for Paul was the same as Tony O'Clery's and not to trust him. The next month, in April Tony O'Clery left a post on the SSB2 message board saying he was visiting Ireland and the UK. One does wonder what nefarious purposes Tony wanted to meet with Simon under an assumed name. This is not the first time anti-Sais have tried to lure devotees into a trap. They tried something similar with me. What's also strange is that many of Sai's followers seem to accept that their chastity-preaching guru takes young men, including minors, into a private chamber, asks them to drop their pants, masturbates them and occasionally demands blow jobs. They believe the stories, and they believe that he's God.
In an online essay called "Sai Baba and Sex: A Clear View," an American devotee named Ram Das Awle says, "First of all, I believe that Sathya Sai Baba is an Avatar, a full incarnation of God ... AND, from what I've read and heard, I'm inclined to think some of the allegations about Baba are probably true: It appears likely to me that He has occasionally had sexually intimate interactions with devotees." After several rambling paragraphs, the essay concludes that Sai Baba touches men to awaken their "kundalini" energy or to remove previous bad sexual karma, and that "any sexual contact Baba has had with devotees -- of whatever kind -- has actually been only a potent blessing, given to awaken the spiritual power within those souls. Who can call that 'wrong'? Surely to call such contact 'molestation' is perversity itself."

So far, the anti-Sai Baba forces have scored a few victories. Many senior devotees have defected. Last September, UNESCO yanked its cosponsorship of an education conference in Puttaparthi, explaining that it was "deeply concerned about widely reported allegations of sexual abuse involving youths and children that have been leveled at the leader of the movement in question, Sathya Sai Baba."

Since then, the movement against Sai Baba has been snowballing. In the past few months, ex-devotees have contacted the FBI, Interpol, the Indian Supreme Court and a host of other agencies, hoping for help in their battle against the guru. A California man named Glen Meloy, who spent 26 years as a Sai devotee, is trying to organize a class-action lawsuit against Sai Organization leaders in America.
His faith was shattered when he was shown excerpts from the diary of his close friend's 15-year-old son, detailing several incidents of molestation. The child of devotees, the boy had been raised to worship Sai Baba as God, and obliged when the master reportedly ordered his disciple to suck his penis. "You've got all these kids who are scared to death to do anything that will do disrespect to their parents, in a room with someone they believe to be the creator of the whole universe," said Meloy, his voice choked with fury. "This isn't just any child abuse; this is God himself claiming to do this."

It all started with a document called "The Findings," published in late 2000 by long-term devotees David and Faye Bailey, whose marriage was arranged by Sai Baba. Part of the nearly 20,000-word piece is given over to evidence that Sai Baba fakes his materializations and doesn't magically heal the sick -- revelations that seem self-evident to nonbelievers but provoke fierce debate in devotee circles and blazing headlines in the Indian press.
Most of "The Findings" consists of testimony of sexual harassment and sexual abuse. "Whilst still at the ashram, the worst thing for me -- as a mother of sons -- occurred when a young man, a college student, came to our room, to plead with David, 'Please Sir, do something to stop him sexually abusing us,'" Faye writes. "These sons of devotees, unable to bear their untenable position of being unwilling participants in a paedophile situation any longer, yet unable to share this with their parents because they would be disbelieved, placed their trust in David; a trust which had built over his five years as a visiting professor of music to the Sai college." These pleas eroded the Baileys' faith and finally made them go public.

The stories about Sai Baba's sexual misconduct are all remarkably similar. "During my 'private audiences' with Sai Baba, Sai Baba used to touch my private parts and regularly massage my private parts, indicating that this was for spiritual purposes," wrote Dutchman Hans de Kraker in a letter sent to French journalist Virginie Saurel. In December 1996, when de Kraker was 24, Sai Baba allegedly asked him to perform oral sex: "He grabbed my head and pushed it into his groin area. He made moaning sounds," de Kraker wrote. "As soon as he took the pressure off my head and I lifted my head, Sai Baba lifted his dress and presented me a semi-erect member, telling me that this was my good luck chance, and jousted his hips towards my face." When de Kraker reported to others what had happened, he was thrown out of the ashram.
American Jed Geyerhahn, who was 16 when Sai Baba started coming on to him, echoes de Kraker's account: "Each time I saw Baba, his hand would gradually make more prominent connections to my groin." The stories are endless, and endlessly alike, concerning mostly boys and men from their midteens to their mid-20s.

Though I disagree strongly with his philosophy and style of approach, the Indian former devotee (1968-74) turned rationalist-skeptic Mr. Basava Premanand, a decades-long critic of Sathya Sai in his periodical Indian Skeptic, also deserves my heartfelt acknowledgment here as one taking a firm and enduring stand for greater accountability and justice.

The Hindu 10-6-1993 reported:-"Several of the investigating officials complained of lack of cooperation from the members of the Satya Sai Trust. When press persons met Mr. Indulal Shah, chief functionary of the Sri Satya Sai World Trust, he said, ‘the matter is purely internal and we do not wish to have any law enforcement agency investigating into it." (Note: This widely publicised newspaper report was never refuted by Indulal Shah. Moreover, his stated aim was eventually achieved.)

I COMMENT ON THE Remand Report of the Superintendent of Police, CID Cuddapah. Assuming that his findings have not been materially contradicted, which is the position as I understand it, his report clearly calls for a thorough and impartial inquiry into the deaths in Sai Baba’s room. Any one of the following grounds would be sufficient in my opinion, but combined the case for such an inquiry is overwhelming.
a) The contradictory eye-witness evidence of V. Jagadish, contradictory that is to the local Police Officer’s statements – the fact that he observed the broken door before the police arrived and was possibly the last independent witness to speak to the deceased makes his evidence significant and most material;
b) The contradictory eye-witness evidence of D. Peddireddy, contradictory that is to the local Police Officer’s statements – he says that he broke the wooden plank that was holding the door and saw the deceased in the room after he did so; once again this is most significant material and corroborates the evidence of Jagadish;
c) The absence of injury to the CI and the nature of the minor injuries to the other Police Constables is inconsistent with their story of a struggle and their need to open fire, but is not inconsistent (I deliberately use a double negative here) with the account of Jagadish and Peddireddy;
d) The position of the deceased after death is inconsistent with the Police version but consistent with them still being in the room after the door was broken, as observed by Jagadish and Peddireddy;
e) The nature of the gunshot wounds to the deceased are entirely inconsistent with the Police Officer’s claim of self-defence but are entirely consistent with a very close range discharge;
f) The fact that the bodies were moved is sufficient to warrant an inquiry as this clearly shows that the crime scene was deliberately altered after the fact;
g) The absence of possession by the deceased of the alleged knives after death strongly suggests that they posed no threat to the Officers, although it cannot be ruled out that the knives were dropped in the alleged melee;
h) The evidence about when the shots were heard: independent and reputable witnesses, Balachandra, Sahani, Vatsava all say 1 a.m., which is consistent with the post-mortem report as to time of death; this contradicts the Police evidence by a full 1½ hours (11.30 p.m. cf 1 a.m.): this cannot be explained by any suggested error in the post-mortem;
i) The number of rounds discharged and the position of the bullets after firing show that some firing was not directed at a specific target. Given the police assertion of self-defence which, if believed, would suggest that the firing would have been carefully aimed so as to avoid shooting their fellow officers (given the confined space), the Police evidence as to the nature of their firing is incredible.
Given the matters outlined in the Remand Report, the failure to further investigate and prosecute the Police Officers involved is a shame and a disgrace to the law enforcement body responsible and to the judiciary who have consistently failed to intervene. No self-respecting and principled law enforcement body or judicial system would tolerate such a situation. In the case of multiple murders, there can be no justification for ignoring.

NOTE: Concerning the time of the attack, Sai Baba said in a discourse about 3 weeks later at Gurupurnima about Radhakrishna. “The messenger of death dogged him at 10:00 p.m.” (See the journal Sanathana Sarathi July 1993, p 175.) This may be fairly accurate, though roughly 10:30 p.m. is indicated by most reliable accounts.
