Welcome to the Bolles Family Website.
It is good to see this forum for genealogy exploration and information.
I am currently involved in a project to make some of the printed Bolles Genealogy info available in "digital" format.
I am learning a great deal about our ancestors as I proofread documents scanned into text files.
I hope I can be helpful to the family as I fulfill the position of Association President.
regards,
Mike Fischer

I'm trying to locate cousin Charlotte Dawn Bolles (#2454 Bolles Book). She is the daughter of Lee C. Bolles #1898. My grandmother was Mabel Lovilla Bolles #1900 which is now my number in the Bolles Family Assn. Would also like to corespond with other descendants of Edwin Armin Bolles #1280.

I have been on one visit to New London and am about to go again. I found the Bolleswood in the Connecticut College Arboretum (and could find a little information that suggested much of that land was where Thomas and his descendants lived) but wondered if there was more information about specific places in New London-- for example the location of Thomas Bolles original farm, his grave, etc. Can anyone point me to this (or a place where it is written up?) [I am descended through Joseph- Thomas-John-Joshua(33)-Ebenezer (120)-William (344)-George(846)-Ethel(1492)who was my grandmother.)

I'm new to this side of my family's history. I'm descended from Andrew Allen, whose lineage is through John Locke and Elizabeth Bolles. Does anyone know how I can purchase the books - A Genealogy of the Descendants of Joseph Bolles of Wells, Maine. Thank you. DSchra1059@aol.com

I am doing research for Barbara Spence Hazeltine who's mother was Alice Izora Bolles Spence. She is seeking volumes I and II of A GENEALOGY of the Descendants of JOSEPH BOLLES of Wells, Maine. I also noticed that there are others who have requested copies of the books. Would it be possible for the family organization to make digitized copies of the family history available for sale?

Thank you

RE: REV. DAVID BOLLES (#94) b.Jan. 14, 1743 - d. Feb. 14, 1807
While researching my 5th great grandfather Rev. David Bolles I discovered he had served in the American Revolutionary War. I submitted my findings to the National Society of the Sons of The American Revolution (SAR)as a supplemental to my existing membership. Rev. David Bolles was accepted by them on August 16, 2007 and is now of record as a "Patriot Ancestor". I feel this is of importance to those interested which descend from him. He was "NOT" previously listed as such in either the 1970 Bolles Book on page 744 with those known to have served at the time it was published nor was it previously known to either the Sons of The American Revolution (SAR) or the Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR).

Hi, my mother,Helen E Rafferty, was a member of the association until her death in 1998 and I continued it on for a couple of years. She purchased both a hard copy and spiral bound books of vol.1 by Williams and and hard copy of volume 2. I would like to sell these books to anyone that could use them. I don't know what they cost when new and I see, are out of print. Any interested parties, please contact me. Thanks!

Hi there,

My name is Cheryl Bolles and I was wondering if there are any relatives of mine who are currently living in MA? Everett Bolles was my great uncle and David Fremont Bolles was my grandfather. This is so exciting to "meet" such nice people. I never knew that the Bolles family was so large! How incredible!

I'm trying to locate heirs of Freeman J. Bolles regarding an inheritance. It might be Freemont J. Bolles. the last address I have is Maplewood Drive in Walpole, NH.

I believe Freemont was born appr 1866. He was married to Margaret and they had at least one son (James F, born 1912).

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Joyce, Right now there is a hold on publishing an updated volume of our family history. There is a dasebase that Mike Fischer and others have established to be available to association members until a final decision is made. Also as genealogist for the association I am in the process of sourcing both of George William's books plus adding additional information as I receive/research it. If you have information tying your family line to Joseph Bolles of Wells, ME, I would be interesting in obtaining copies of it. Please drop me a note or write to the PO Box with your questions and/or information.

What do you think of having a call in conference once a month to ask, exchange, or learn something about our family's history?

There would be no charge for attending, other than the cost of your call if you do not have free long distance telephone service. The open confernce line would be about 30-45 minutes long, most likely on a Saturday or Sunday.

Please post your comments and thoughts

I am trying to confirm whether my family is related to Joseph Bolles. My grandfather's great grandparents were Hannah Pope Bolles and DeWitt Clinton Loudon. I believe Hannah's father was a Reverend(?) David Charles Bolles. Am I correct that they are direct descendants of Joseph Bolles who came from England to New England in the 1600's?

I have the Bolles line through Ruth Bolles who married John Shaw Snow. They had Timothy Snow who married Anna Jenne and had Lemuel Snow. Lemuel Snow married Delia Ames. They had Adeline Snow who married Elisha Bassett and had Sarah Bassett who married Henry Oliver Jones. This Jones line comes on down to my grandmother and the Jones line goes back to Ralph Jones from Barnstable, MA.

I am trying to locate the grave of my 4th Great Grandmother, Margaret Bolles Plumbe (1738-1812); daughter of Isaiah (Josiah) and Lydia Powers Bolles; first married to Frederick Lee, then to Green Plumbe. Margaret & Green were married 22 Mar 1758 in New London, New London. They moved to East Haddam (Middlesex), where Green died in 1807, and is buried in Long Pond Cemetery (beside his daughter Elizabeth). Margaret Bolles Plumbe died 11 Feb 1812, but I've been unable to locate her grave. Thanks for the help!

Hi Chuck,

I'm not sure if you're not able to location Margaret's grave at Long Pond Cemetery or you are not sure where she is buried?
Also, I would be interested is learning Margaret's line, we do not have much information on her. She is my 1st cousin 6 times removed, which than makes us related too. (7th cousin ??). From which of Margaret's children do you go back too?
Let me know when you can, until then be well.

Hi Candy,

I was just going over this years quick topics and saw your email. Are you in need of some information on Ruth Bolles and her line?
I would be interested on the information & dates of her children, as we have little on them. An item which we seem different is her husband, I have it as Joshua Snow, you as Hohn Shaw Snow. What source did you get that from, so I can compare?
Drop a note when you can, I look forward in hearing from you.

Hi Karen,

If you are asking about Hannah Williams Bolles, married to D.W.C. Loudon of Georgetown, OH, then you are correct. As you can see we do have a difference, Hannah's middle name, I see a list as Williams and you have it listed as Pope.
Hannah is my 3rd cousin, 3 times removed. I would very much be interested in seeing your information and sources on her line, to compare and see if we too are related. Are you from Fanny M. or Elizabeth?
Please drop me a note when you can. I also have additional information on her line if you need it.

My mother and I have possession of the BOLLES family bible which has
births deaths and mariages of the BOLLES and BUGBEE family from around the
1720's to 1890's in CT. I guess we had it passed down because one of my
great Grandmothers Lucy Ann HAMMOND was sister to Mary Ann HAMMOND who
married Darius Ainsworth BOLLES. If any one is interested drop me an email.

This came from my Chaffee side, Rehoboth, MA to Lyndon VT to NY.

I have some confusion as to who really married Loren Chaffee in VT, On line records indicate Lydia Ann Richardson, but my Mom says Lucy Ann Hammond. She has some memory of hushed discussions of adoption or something in regards to Lucy Ann HAMMOND. Any insight here would be helpful
