OK can I just say that this entire site is BRILLIANT. I am a Sunday School teacher and I came across this site in search of a good Christmas-y memory verse for the week and I found all sorts of other stuff that helped, challenged and ministered to me in the area of Christmas. My mother never encouraged the Santa Claus lie but also didn't encourage me to absolutely murder Santa Claus in front of other kids who had been lied to, but rather deflect the attention towards the true meaning of Christmas, which is Jesus of course (I still may have upset a few kids but that's life!). I'm glad to find the same balanced point of view, explained in clear and logical detail, all across this site which encourages the glorifying of Jesus at Christmas while still celebrating Christmas in a normal Western civilisation-type way, but without the Santa, drunkenness & consumerism. I highly recommend this site for ANYONE, especially those with children. Highlights are the "Baby Jesus (for kids)", "Second-rate Christmas" and "Focus on Christ" pages. Thank you and merry Christmas to all :)

Our small group of christian day care providers
started 30 years ago making christ in christmas ornaments
by drawing a circle around the bottom of a tin can.
We now have a website www.christinchristmas.co (not .com but .co)with 30 beautiful ornaments featuring 15 of Jesus names
so children get to know Jesus better and 15 of the gifts he
brought from heaven so we can give the same kind of gifts.
WE PRAY WITH ALL OUR HEARTS THAT INDIVIDUAL SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
WILL HAVE ORNAMENT MAKING PARTIES SO THAT EVEN THE POOREST
CHILD HAS SOMETHING TO GIVE and...that the classes will grow
because of their outreach to their community.

I want to know; how do you know what day Christmas is? The Bible doesnt say what day it was, does it? Think about this: If you study past history of shepherds, it was not at all common for shepherds to tend to their flock during the winter. So why would Jesus be born in the winter when shepherds dont tend to their flock at that season. And in the Bible, the shepherds were outside tending to thier flock, no? So therefore Jesus couldnt have been born in the winter, plus the Bible doesnt say what day he was born. But isnt that funny because Jesus talks about how there will be conflict about the winter time and about what day is the true sabbath in the last days. Look at Matthew chapter 24.
