Hi Barbara I was at Bingley from 72 to 75 and it was the best time of my life. I was a P.E. woodentop who preferred outdoor pursuits and Geography. I used to love the ethos of the place and the wierd activities that went on. I am very ashamed that I did not mix much more as I dont recall many names from those 3 years. Probably many students dont remember me although they will remember the clock tower Christmas tree episode. My claim to fame!

Is there anyone out there who went to Bingley College between September 1972 to 1975?
I knew a few people who were then, one I am still in Contact with, Margaret Johnson she was then, is now Margaret Scott, with one son, called Rowan.
I did Music while I was there and did know someone called Phil, and Sally Newberry. Some of us had piano lessons with John Briggs; remember him?
I live in Lecestershire now but would like to have contact with people from those days.

Anybody remember Neville Coghill, singing 'My brother Sylvest'. I bet he still does it?

I wonder if anybody can remember what the final weeks or days were like at Bingley College when it was eventually wound up. It must have been very bittersweet for some of the lecturers who had been there many years? And of course the ancillary staff and students.

Welcome to the new discussion forum. Hopefully this will give opportunity for a variety of issues and topics to be discussed in a more accessible way.
There is talk of a Bingley weekend in 2005 for students who attended 1971 - 1977. Sat 12 Feb has been mentioned as a possibility. Ideas and suggestions welcome please.
